What Made Zane VS Jesse/Yubel so Special? 

I think for me it’s the fact that he goes out on his own terms. He finally returns back to his “normal” self.

I’ve always loved the fact that Zane didn’t use any Cyberdarks in this duel. After his turn in Season 2, he finally returned to his faithful Cyber Dragons for his final duel. I’m voting again for Kaito vs Mizael from Zexal.

While he may have died and officially lost the duel, Morally and Mentally Zane won. Zane pushed Jaden out of his despair and gave him the motivation he needed to finish the job. Zane also denied Yubel the satisfaction of ending his life and went out on his own terms with his True Ace Cyber End Dragon at his side. Very few people could have actually pulled this off but ironically due to him participating in those Underground Duels they gave Zane the mental and physical fortitude needed to duel a Sadist like Yubel.

This is easily the best duel in all of GX. When Kaiser says that he wants to burn his life so bright to prove that he existed. Man what a line. I also love how Judai realizes what Kaiser is doing and explains to Sho that he is not throwing his life away. Then him activating power bond on his final turn is perfect. When he summons the Cyber End Dragon with 8000 atk and we get the flashback and at the end Judai says you really are the best Kaiser. Chef's kiss. What a duel. Then how can you not get teary-eyed as he passes away. I certainly did. Also, if you haven't watched this duel subbed you need to.

What made this duel special is how truly hard to say who'd win and who'd lose. We know in the back of our heads the mc will not lose to the final antagonist which takes away some of the excitement of the duel But with side characters vs the villains it's hard to say how a duel can go and Zane is a special case as to how far he goes in duels. Can't say many duels have that spark like soul burner vs revolver

I think the reason it’s so special is that it became quite apparent to Ryo early in the duel that it would be his final duel so he gave it his all even at death’s doorstep. Ryo’s character journey is one of the best in all of the Yu-Gi-Oh anime. For the one of the next duels maybe do Yugi Vs. Kaiba Battle City, Yusei vs Kiryu Dark Signers Rematch, Yugi vs Atem Ceremonial Duel, Yuma vs Nash, Yuma Nash and Kind of Kaito vs Don Thousand, Judai vs Yugi or Yugi vs Pegasus Duelist Kingdom Final

Not only it’s one of my favorite duels from Yu-Gi-Oh GX but my favorite duel of all the the Yu-Gi-Oh series

Absolutely one of the best duels in the franchise. It was a nice sort of "rematch" from their last duel. It featured the debut of the Advanced Crystal Beasts. It served as Zane's farewell/send off duel. Exciting back and forth turns. And the end of the duel with Zane standing there with his gigantic Cyber End Dragon was so good and left a lasting image. It was a great duel to show off who Zane had become.

Sadly Zane couldn't attack with Cyber End regardless of his condition because Cybernetic Zone would've destroyed it during the next turn after it returned back. Unless they pulled a plot armor top deck, it seemed very likely he would've lost just shy of victory. I love the real tension and punch-for-punch this duel had because both duelists wanted to completely beat the other

If only Zane had Limiter Removal instead of Cybernetic Zone...

My personal favorite duel that I would love to see analyzed are the Sargasso duels in general. I know Vector vs Yuma is the main focus due to the sheer amount of character exploration and development involved, but Durbe vs Shark foreshadows SO MUCH with their dialogue and Mizael vs Kaito is able to further their rivalry beyond their first duel with each other. It is my absolute favorite part of all of Zexal II outside of the final arc.

For Zexal, I nominate Yuma vs Nasch (Shark) their final duel

Definitely one of the best duels in GX. One thing I actually liked in the dub version is Zane addresses Syrus before passing away, while in the sub he doesn't acknowledge him lol

Truly one of the best of Zane's duel. Homie knew he didn't have much time left and chose to fought to the bitter end. Even snapping Judai out of his depression and went out on his terms with his signature ace, Cyber End Dragon. That shot of Cyber End being huge and standing behind him was glorious. Zane will always be the greatest character (to me) in GX

Hope we get one of these for Zexal. Yuma vs Nasch is a phenomenal duel that means a lot to me, personally. Great dueling action, great use of the phenomenal soundtrack, and it really highlights how much both characters have grown.

This duel is flippin’ sweet. When Zane went to 200 life points and had to catch his breath literally had me on the edge of my seat.

Still one of the greatest duels of the entire franchise.

Zane came such a long way he even said it himself he had all the glory but had non of the fun This is a great duel and a great way to send zane off until he comes back in season 4 of corse

I've thought about why Zane's last card was Cybernetic Zone and not Limiter Removal, which would have won him the game. My theory is that Zane's normally superb "draw the out" skill faltered for a brief moment as he was fighting with one foot in the grave. A real tragedy; goes to show just how close he was to beating Yubel

one of my favorite duels also Kaiser has been using Cyberdarks more then his Cybers or combining them but this he used Cybers exclusively

This duel was truly amazing in GX. Zane is such an awesome character and one of my favorite in Yugioh GX

Yuma and Kite vs IV and III is the perfect duel for anytime I'm in the mood for some hype zexal era duel

This to note is also the first duel Yubel had and even though she was using a powered up version of Jesse's deck, they were being pushed back non-stop by Zane throughout the whole duel. This duel does well in making Yubel fallable which later is further built up on through their duel with Adrian.

Back when i first saw this duel when it aired it really was sad to see Zane knowing he wouldn't last longer but incredible to see he giving it his all one final time. Not only was he trying to save Jesse and teach Jaden that he needs to be brave and move forward despite with what's happened but also he was fighting alongside Cyber End Dragon once again. You can see this with him summoning Cyber End Dragon and recalling the best times he had with it. Since the beginning he was fond of the monster but he broke his bond in s2 after he lost to Aster and got the Cyber dark monsters he started to disrespect himself, his opponents and his monsters only caring about winning. As we saw when he dueled Jesse the 1st time he was starting to be like his old self again using his old monsters again in particular Cyber End Dragon respecting it as he had before when he duels. This duel just encapsulates the journey that Zane went through starting off strong and good to straying off for a bit and returning back finding himself. This parallels so well with Jaden as he's also took down the wrong path in this season but Zane shows him that he needs to accept himself to save everyone to stop running and stand up for himself and the world agaisnt Yubel and the light of destruction. Truly one of the best duels the music goes so well.

This duel is crazy fun And crazy sad too Zain's death scene cannot be skipped easily In the end, this duel is fantastic I did enjoy a lot thanks Dylan continue

One of the best duels out there, maybe in top 3, after Kurosaki Shun VS. Sora Shiun'in, which you already covered. Can't tell what my most favorite duel is, because it's not as epic or review-worthy.

Zane after going pro. Shun in the entire arc v run. Kite and soul burner probably had the best duels because it's hard to say who'd win or not. Shun is unpredictable due to how his mission to fight fusion is so serious compared to how yuya acts trying to entertain. A close second probably Dennis who does what yuya does but better. Yuri was an absolute beast but we all know yuya was gonna beat him. Kite same thing. He's constantly making duels with the mc unpredictable with Yuma not getting a win against him by either tying or just beating him outright. That makes villain fights harder to gauge with kite if he'll win or not as an unstoppable force. Soul burner same thing. Dude was on demon time and especially his final duel with revolver was a good send off showing a joey can succeed without being the villain. He got the best ending too with bringing his girlfriend to vrains

This is honestly one of the best duels in Yu-Gi-Oh GX. I love this duel and this duel made Zane/Ryo my 2nd favorite character in Yu-Gi-Oh.

When I first saw this duel it was in a vid for the subbed version of the duel itself and at the end I think I teared up a bit. (the Japanese ost hits hard) also speaking of sad music kicks in, sometime after 7:20 I noticed the music and it hit hard. Also yes I like this duel and episodes Hope you do Yami Yugi vs Yugi during the Orichalcos arc cause the emotions and music hit hard and what Yami learns from the duel is great.

If Zane drew Limiter Removal, he would've won. But regardless, Zane always had the best duels but his duel with Jesse was peak. I loved this duel so much.

Zane Vs Jesse/Yubel was a really good duel and seeing Zane disappear at the end of the duel after losing because of Power Bond’s effect damage that he takes was so sad. The music throughout the duel was so good and it seemed like Zane would win but ultimately he loses. For the next duel how about Vetcor Vs Dumon and Marin because it was a really good duel and I would love to see your analysis

JP GX continues to make me irrationally angry here even after years. The diffrence between Zane and Ryo is that Zane actually died(Season 4 genuinely needs to be erased) so this event is not just a blip on the radar...and that he actually gave final words to both Jaden and Syrus to cap the relationship he foolishly broke off. Ryo is just a retroactive loser and does not care about his brother Sho. For all the nonsense 4Kids and american network demands did to the IP over the years, I will always have to give them the storypoints here, even if the improvement is 100% accidental. (Ultimately luckily, I still have the german regional dub to watch that keeps the storychanges while not having the horrendous voice direction and generally improving on the one liners. Even tho it has its own problems that more or less annoy me, can't get a full win here.)

Sadly during season 4 Judai and kaiser badly saw each other

Zane deserved to destroy Rainbow dark dragon who shouldnt have got boosted by 5k after counter gem,instead it should have been 4k and they destroy each other but Zane still takes power bond effect damage,just my small gripe with this duel,but as usual Jaden has to be one doing everything.
