Successful people don't become that way overnight. What most people see at a glance- wealth, a great career, purpose-is the result of hard work and hustle over time. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life..
National language is Malay … yet only the Malays and a handful of the older generation can speak Malay. Almost all Singaporeans today speak English. To an outsider, it would seem that English is the national language. I reckon that English is a good choice as a common language to communicate across all ethnic groups as well as a business language to communicate with other people / people from other countries.
In last 15 yrs a lot have changed in SG.. Drastic fall in Malay & Indian population over a period of time, surge in Chinese & Fillipno population brought a lot of cultural change in society. Is it good or bad only future can say. However the balance which SG maintained on population since independence where cultural identities are celebrated has lost its sheen. Ultra effectiveness shown by govt in LKY period brought a great change to SG... LHL started extremely good, and even overtook LKY in progress of SG, however in last 9 years decline in ethnic population like Malays & Tamils has brought a new challenge to country. Hope SG don't loose its ethnic identity while the country evolve into a New digital age. Change is always good for country but it should not be at the cost by creating ethnic imbalance where country loose its independent identity and become a extended territory of some other country in future.
Love how there was unanimous agreement about going back to the Malaysia Cup! Great documentary CNA, and a great reminder. As the guests shared, "how quickly we forget.."
It’s fascinating to me that the only time I see a Caucasian represented on Singaporean tv is when it’s some Western University Professor giving their “expert” advice on a topic…
This country should be proud of Its self and what is has achieved, as l always say you have the power to decide who changes you or your mind, but really the fact that you no longer have tribal crashes be proud you really have come from far. Personally l hope my country gets to where you are.
Yes absolutely 💯 PERCENT TRUE NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH especially at the rate now where the RICH & FAMOUS MIGRANTS #ALIENS acted YAYA PAPAYA & look down on SINGAPOREAN
I want to see a 1 year prime minister & 1 year president irregardless of race & by election not selection; not career politicians/armchair general/cult pofma mafia/control freak/military corhot bunch. When you can see progress & Singaporean life improve then they should stay another term & another term. Govt elected by the citizen should serve the ppl & not make law to "tekan" the ppl but get to the ground to work with the ppl to solve Singapore's problem not using elitism & play of word & not address the issue objectively.
I assume that you're Singaporean. Would you agree if the Singapore government gave the same rights to PRs and expats which it gave to Singaporeans? You wouldn't right? Now put yourself in the shoes of the Malay people in the past who are the indigenous people of Singapore and were here before the other immigrants and settlers. Would you, a Malay person, agree to policies which, over time, granted the same status to outsiders that you have? The same rights to land? How about policies which made you a minority in your own land? I bet you wouldn't. But these are the very things which happened to Malay people in Singapore. So please take yourself out of your own mindset and ponder. I don't agree with special rights based on race, but I do agree that any established government must act in the interest of the original inhabitants of the land. I fully support Article 152 of the Singapore constitution which recognises the special position of the Malays, who are the indigenous people of Singapore.
typical oppigs always use race n religion to gain vote. you never see malay or indian f chinese is it? fu oppigs stop all this low level race n religion politics
I think that they have equal rights in opportunities and recognition. Many prominent Singaporeans are LGBT either closet or openly. The government doesn’t suppress or prosecute LGBT in the way like say some middle eastern countries, or even fundamental Christians in western liberal societies. The government balances a fine line between preserving the wishes of the majority adhering to “traditional” Asian values and allowing for the minority LGBT to have freedom to practise their chosen sexual identity without undue discrimination and prosecution found worldwide, including western democracies. It’s not perfect, no where is but it’s much much better than what you see in religious fundamental societies.
I would even add that being LGBT is seen as a positive trait in some industries, especially the creative, hospitality and entertainment related industries as they are deemed or indeed more open, creative and friendly.
Pride and Prejudice, these 2 terms are better refer to the existing behaviour of pap against wp or psp. One side is always so prideful of self and prejudice of other, in numbers and in words, observing the latest debate was so spotted on.. Do your think very applicable to that situation? The prideful one always think is right and always prejudice against the minority right one, who is right, law right, figure right or human right?? Let's God decide.. 😂 😂 🤣 🤣
