I once saw someone say that they should have divided the Phantoka and Mistika groups into the Toa Kiata groups. There's so much development potential for all the things in 2008
I also think that makes a bit of sense, I would imagine the Toa that combine together likely have the most chemistry/symbiotic relationships & strengths
I love how your Lewa has more air control! It feels reminiscent of how mahri Hahli had wings bc of course she would have the most maneuverability in her element
Honestly, on Lewa Phantoka (the classic version, not your version) having jets on his arms that nessecitate him keeping his arms straight, it kinda makes sense for Lewa's specific powerset, specifically his Kanohi Miru. It allows him to hover in place without other mechanical aids, meaning that jetpacks as a hover method are obsolete. He can just fly in place with his mask, and use his arms for aiming his gun or swinging his sword. Likewise, his wind powers allow him to adjust his position on a lesserl scale by blowing himself a little to the left or right, giving him the nessecary functionality to dodge or to pursue close enemies for melee air combat, again, without other aid from his equipment. The only thing he actually needs his shoulder jets for would be high-speed flying, beyond what his wind boosts can safely deliver, and for that it pays off to be aerodynamic, ie. arms to the sides. So that's my headcanon. Lewa's shoulder jets are for high-speed air chases, not for unassisted flying.
This Onua not only looks amazing but also perfectly plausible as a set and it makes me even more sad that we never got this as Onua Mistika. The Mistika claws on the hands look good imo but I'm biased towards the Nuparu Inika claws.
I think the silver and gray on the Toa were the adaptive armor. Which is why my toa that were nuvaed with their adaptive armor on their adaptive armor is fully colored and the adaptive armor activation is silver. That's just my head canon to explain the silver and grey
You could try Matoro Mahri leg armor behind the claws except you'd have to secure them with a pin on the top or bottom. So it kind of makes it better and worse at the same time
Hmm, when you make the mistika of lewa, pohatu, kopaka, are you mistikaing them as you think mistika should've been, or as you think mistika was? Like, are you going to make them...bad, in succinct terms? Also i do agree with your vision of pohatu being legs and onua being arms... if pohatu phantoka wasn't arms currently. If those copter blades were his legs, I think i could agree more... Or, if he still had copter arms but moved the midak blaster, maybe added a second, to his legs. Just, hordika necks to the back of the top of the thighs, mata hand finger to the single axle hole side of the midak so it can face down and has the weight more evenly distributed. This, of course, is still in the theoretical realm wherein the sockets don't break with a stiff breeze and they could handle a little lateral stress of the blaster weight resting on one socket side.
I like your onua phantoka but what i would do is add a mahri matoran blade as a thumb and add his nynrah ghost blaster cover with a midak blaster attached to it
Not gonna lie, this is my favorite version of Onua 2008 I have seen so far, its a shame those pieces don't come in silver so I can replace my Mistika Onua with this one. 😅
You know each time I see a moc of the phantoka and mistaka all I see is the fact no one seems to understands why we don't put swords on planes or shields because they would be more useless than bath under the sea
Well it's a fantasy world, and the characters occasionally land. I'd rather a you have a weapon (especially a new weapons design) even where it doesn't necessarily make sense to have one. New parts are always good
