Adventure Riding has so many wonderful aspects to it... but this is one of the things about it that I really value... the community... and the way give their time and knowledge to help people discover amazing places.
Beautiful video, loved it. Generous lovely couple too. My husband and I did a lap around our country at the end of the 60s and found Aussies were the same everywhere no matter what state and it seems nothing has changed. Aussie! Aussie! Aussie!
Brent, that's a stunningly beautiful area! I'll be 60 years old in 2025 and a gift to myself is an ADV riding vacation in NSW. Your videos have been so entertaining and educational. THANK YOU, and all the best to you and yours from SW Missouri USA!
"Magical" is 100% the correct word for that!! Just got back from an epic 13 day trip to the Idaho backcountry where a good buddy of mine grew up (it's 3k miles from home for me) He took the time to show us around his property and mining claim from the 1800s and it was the same, magical. I feel like I can still smell the evergreens at high altitude. No internet, no politics, just fantastic times. This was one of the first videos I watched after returning home. It hit just right. Thanks Brent!
Awesome video, so jealous. stunning scenery to be riding through. very generous couple to share their backyard with you and the other riders . thank you for sharing your travels with us. What can you tell us about the bridge...?
Nice one Brent! And so true about the ADV community, we are all blessed by the friendship and experiences that riders bring together. Nice to see the area you covered, very green and lush. Cheers Mate.
Fantastic presentation. Let's keep nurturing the adv way if sharing knowledge and country. We could even come up with our own welcome to country mantra 😅
Ha! I don't blame you. It is magical being out in places like this on the bike.... sometimes you almost appreciate it more when you look back at the video.
Tks for sharing, amazing scenery. I choose the wrong country to expatriate. I went from France to USA but if I had to do it again I will try Australia…
@@FrancoisTX1974 I hear you... I'm in Texas at the moment too... and have ridden most of Texas Hill Country. It's a shame they don't have the same sort of Off Road riding here as in Aus.
Hi Brent 👋 wow what great scenery, that's not something you get to see everyday. Absolutely stunning! I've had my new 701 for about a month now, done a fair bit of customisation and still more stuff on transport, adding the OEM long range tanks and decide what soft luggage and what I need to do to install it correctly. Not just ADV riders but motorcycle riders alike have been very kind and welcoming, it's a great community and most are very helpful I've found. Thanks so much for another epic video, your experience shows, that drone footage is so good. Are you still using the Skydio or did you upgrade? 👏👍😎🤙🇦🇺👌 Cheers Scott QLD.
Yes, he got a second hand drive shaft and had the bike back together pretty quickly. He's been out riding with us since this trip and the bike is ready for another 100,000 kms.
Hi Brent, I have been following you for some time now and I really love the video's you make. It's really inspiring to see you riding with some mates and having a good time in some amazing landscapes. I would like to ask you a question. You are always in the wild and there are a lot of dangerous animals and insects in Australia. How do you deal with that? I can't remember that you have discussed this topic before but I am curious. Keep up the good quality videos.
Hi Gisjbert Thanks for your note. Yes, I love being in the wild and while there are snakes and spiders etc. I think the thought of them is actually worse than the reality. Having said that, when I'm walking in the countryside I'm keeping an eye where I walk, I keep my boots inside the tent at night, and I also do have a first aid kit and emergency beacons etc. So if I did get bitten by something, we would call for a chopper ASAP. I've never really had any issues with wildlife except for Kangaroos and Emus that seem to like running towards my bike.
We actually had 4 drones. A DJI Air, A DJI Avata, and a DJI Mavic Pro and a Skydio. The Skydio did more of the close-ups following the bikes, while the DJI did more of the longer shots and the FPV stuff.
Hi Brent. Great video. We have been in the process of planning a ride to Gloucester for some time now from Coffs Harbour. Any chance you could share the tracks. If private property involved I understand if answer is no.
Well done Brent. Loved all your vids. Trying to buy a Skydio but having trouble. The outlet seems to no longer stock them in OZ. Have you found anything else that is as capable??
No, Skydio has never been available in Australia. They only sell them in the US which is where I got mine. I did know a guy in Aus that was selling his, I'll see if I can remember who it was.
@@brentbat oh wow. Thanks for the reply Brent. There was a company in Oz marketing them. But, they had no stock. They also directed you to the US who were also out of stock. Only accepting orders and deposit up front. I then also heard thru YT and FB that Skydio had advised they were prefering to focus on their commercial operations, more than the Skydio range. So, now looking at alternatives. I really appreciate hearing from you. My interest is similar to yours, but using a sidecar. (Were a weird bunch 🤣🤣
@@haitch1980 Aha... thanks for the info.... Sidecars eh? yes, you guys are definitely a breed of your own. Funnily enough I was in the Royal Cafe in Walcha a couple of weeks ago and I was looking at. picture on the wall of a guy going through a water puddle offroad with a sidecar and the sidecar was totally up in the air and I remember thinking "wow, that is really crazy".
@@brentbat Yes, that area Walcha, Wauchope, Uralla is the area. The Australian Importers for Ural motorcycle Sidecars is in Uralla. October is the National Ural Adventure ride over 3 days out of Port Macquarie. FYI.
Adv riding is the perfect hobby for white guys with excess income and an otherwise boring life. If coupled with boating and 4x4'ing, this is really the amount of stuff someone needs to maintain a good level of happiness. I guess when you get bored of all that, the middle aged man can upgrade to a 40ft RV and tow a 4x4 behind it with a boat on the roof and a motorcycle attached to the rear bumper. The happiness level with all that stuff for driving through puddles etc would simply be off the chain!
Yes, the blue bike "or the Hamburger with the Works" as the mechanics call it... It's a 690 with the Aurora Kit on (tanks and tower) and a custom sticker set.
