Gasoline vehicles require smaller fuel tanks??? Have you ever had personal experience of a diesel engined car? Due to better fuel economy, they can go far further per unit of fuel, than their gasoline counterparts. If a manufacturer desired a particular range in both petrol and diesel models, it would be the diesel that had the smaller fuel tank. Diesels benefit from better fuel economy, reliability, durability and Co2 emissions. With no ignition system there is less to go wrong and leave an owner stranded. There are LESS service items on a diesel than a petrol car!

Gasoline has 1/4 as much carbon. More power and less heat. With higher octane, you can eliminate nitrous oxide. And greatly increase the efficiency while reducing the pollution out put.

Yeah , Correct . Everything that @almostbutnotentirelyunreas166 is what I also was going to say . Also , what do you mean Diesel Fuel is hard to find in Rural areas ? It's actually MUCH easier to find . All the Farm Machinery is DIESEL powered . Thumbs Down , Numbnuts .

I watch you diesel video of this. You are contradicting yourself. When you talk aboyt the availability of gas is better in remote area. You said the same thing for diesel

I happen to have referred to sources discussing about different locations, sorry about the contradiction. Where I live, diesel can be easily found.

1) Diesel engines have higher thermal efficiency than gasoline engines. 2) Diesel engine's service life is around 1.7 times longer than gasoline engines. 3) High torque delivery (hence efficiency) makes the use of diesel engines easy and virtually foolproof. 4) Lower peak rpm with even power spread makes for greater control under heavy loads. ALL diesel engines have rev-limiters / governors, you cant over-rev them. 5) There are only 2 types of Diesel fuel, whereas there are up to 6 types of Petrol fuel: Easier to own Diesel engine. 6 Petrol engines require 'choke' settings or 'over-fuelling' for cold start, Diesel requires a simple glow-plug. (You can damage petrol engine when forgetting to reset the choke) 7) Diesel emissions are as easily conrotlled as petrol emissions, it is just a question of technology and honesty. 8) In 2006, Le Mans was won by diesel powered engine, so much for the 'power benefits' of petrol engines. 9 Diesel engines have a lower 'specific consumption' of fuel per KW/H than petrol (i.e. they are more efficient per litre of fuel) 10) if you live under a rock, or are an uninformed 'city boy', then you may believe that parts for diesel engines are more difficult to purchase. Simply not true. 11) Desel engines have less moving parts than petrol engines, so they are more relaible. (Less to fail during normal use) This video was poorly researched and biased in an unscientific manner. JUST LIKE WEAK YT VIDEO"S ALWAYS ARE. Opinions are like snotty nostrils: Occasionally everyone suffers from this this. Like in the video.

1) Diesel engines have higher thermal efficiency than gasoline engines. FALSE. Today even petrol engines are capable of achieving over 40% thermal efficiency. 2) Diesel engine's service life is around 1.7 times longer than gasoline engines. PROBABLE. While you do see more high odo diesels rather than ottos, most of it due to suggesting people who are less car savy to purchase atmospheric petrol vehicles, resulting in shorter trips, which has a high effect on engine longevity. Also EU had a huge push for companies to buy diesels as fleet vehicles rather than petrols (in essence a lot of political BS). However for a diesel engine to achieve a higher odo value it is required to do more maintenance on the engine, due to carbon buildup, turbo/bearing replacements, high requirements for combustion chamber and fuel "cleanliness" and probably something i'm forgetting at the moment. 3) High torque delivery (hence efficiency) makes the use of diesel engines easy and virtually foolproof. FALSE. Only reason a diesel has high torque is a turbocharger. Compare similar engines and you may get a higher torque outuput on either, but you'll also need to use sturdier/heavier materials. 4) Lower peak rpm with even power spread makes for greater control under heavy loads. ALL diesel engines have rev-limiters / governors, you cant over-rev them. FALSE. You can run a diesel engine on oil coming from a faulty turbocharger. The engine will grenade itself no matter what the ECU tells it to do, since it's taking fuel from the sump which is usually above 6 litres. 5) There are only 2 types of Diesel fuel, whereas there are up to 6 types of Petrol fuel: Easier to own Diesel engine. FALSE. There is also a shitload of gases you can run an otto engine on, granted you need an aftermarket system installed, but still. Also diesels will never run on wood gas. 6) Petrol engines require 'choke' settings or 'over-fuelling' for cold start, Diesel requires a simple glow-plug. (You can damage petrol engine when forgetting to reset the choke). PROBABLE. Same logic applies to diesel governors. Chokes are used on yard equipment and to an extent motorbikes. Both of which require more ease of start than anything else. 7) Diesel emissions are as easily conrotlled as petrol emissions, it is just a question of technology and honesty. FALSE. Ask VAG, Germany and France. 8) In 2006, Le Mans was won by diesel powered engine, so much for the 'power benefits' of petrol engines. PROBABLE. F1 is still based on the otto engine. 9 Diesel engines have a lower 'specific consumption' of fuel per KW/H than petrol (i.e. they are more efficient per litre of fuel) FALSE. Unless you increase NOx emissions. 10) if you live under a rock, or are an uninformed 'city boy', then you may believe that parts for diesel engines are more difficult to purchase. Simply not true. TRUE. Parts for any vehicle are as popular as that vehicle itself at a location. Don't buy a Ferrari to drive at the poles or middle of nowhere, it's gonna suck once you need an oil change. 11) Desel engines have less moving parts than petrol engines, so they are more relaible. (Less to fail during normal use) PROBABLE. Not every diesel engine is made with the same quality of an otto engine and vice versa. Do the research and figure out if an engine and vehicle are good for your application. That being said, any generation Prius has a higher chance to run on wood or coal than any military HUMVEE. And yes, i agree that the video is as poor as a 1 year olds table manners.
