What makes Ridge Racer Type 4 great? It’s the visuals! 

I only had this game and tekken 2 on the PlayStation back then. What a time it was for me as a child.

Ridge Racer type 4 is just a perfect one in the series. They fully captured the vibe, the cars and most especially THE SOUNDTRACK. The other ones are a banger too but RR4 just hits different. (1999 ' 2000 vibes)

R4 also had a ton of cars and a great vibe. The music composers carried that era so hard.

its not just the visuals, soundtrack and presentation, its the HANDLING of the cars. most racing games feel either too exaggerated or too realistic, but R4 hits the sweet spot that an arcade racer should

Love that you made shoutouts to Kei Yoshimizu. Reiko was a vital part for the vibe in these games, specially R4.

R4 has the best soundtracks of all songs in Ridge Racer series. Even one song, Movin' in circles is also on par with colorful dreams colorful smiles.

I played this game over and over when it came out. The menu design blew me away. Other than wipeout, I had'nt seen anything like it at the time. In terms of graphic design, I think it's a masterpiece, and timeless. The music is amazing. The car's SFX could have been better, but this game left a mark on me for life. Glad to see people are still talking about it.

the storyline dude the storyline really touches my heart when I finish the game with RTS or DRT team. The Fukuoka stages are really beautiful. Play Move Me during Brightest Nite stage, and the tension arises to get to first place. you can unlock alot of cars depending on how you do in each race in the GP . It's like gta 4 where there are choices that you can make that could give you good things. good game indeed

Namco really went out and smashed this game. I really want a current gen or oc remake of all the old games including rage racer.

It has a very cool Intro. The Carrier Mode with all his text messages and of course the you got your car ready to go szene. I love it and the Soundtrack outstanding in my opinion. The only Thing that they have could done better were if the put more tracks in this game and some more chilling vibes Music. But anyway its nearly perfekt and will be the best racing game ever in my eyes.❤ This needs a remake really. There was only one who was as good as this on ps3 race driver grid.

The original intro was better to me. That was the real Reiko. I don’t care if ther old creator made the new remastered intro or not. That new chick doesn’t even look like Reiko to me. So it takes away from its glory. Watching something just as i did when i was a kid and not dolled up. Brings the nostalgia back and it envelops me.😂 somebody please invent a Time Machine 😔
