I love these bags because of the memories I have associated with them. When I was really young, like maybe 4-5 years old, my mom would bring one of these totes with her whenever her and I went anywhere, whether it be the beach, the playground, the zoo, wherever. When I see an LL Bean tote today I get an overwhelming sense of nostalgia and I remember those experiences I had as a kid. Maybe it sounds a bit silly to have a sentimental attachment to a product, especially one as basic as a tote, but these bags are one of the few things from my childhood that I can recall so vividly.
who knew 1 video would tap DEEP into your psyche, I think I feel the same way whenever I see people with monogrammed LL bean gear immediately takes me back to grade school.
If u get a seam ripper u can rip out the embroidery. To remove the sewing holes just spray it with water and rough up the surface by rubbing the fabric against itself and just let it air dry. I did the same w a Land’s End tote which I like a little better bc they are slightly taller and have pockets and compartments.
Damnit, I watched this video to get away from the eggs. Did you know that whenever you hit a coconut tree, those things are more likely to come out? It's crazy!
haven't washed it yet but I wouldn't be surprised if the colors run since this is all produced in Maine and the white part of the canvas looks like it would pick up any loose dye. Best option would probably be to hand wash it in cold water to avoid and washing mishaps.
I was planning on never washing my bag because I loved the rich red color and the sturdiness of the bag. However, I came home one day to find out that my mom had washed it!😢 It’s not as rich in color anymore and it’s not as stiff anymore but, it still holds it’s purpose, to hold items.
Day Jones It took me awhile to find the perfect tote as well until I found the Coach Metropolitan Tote in full black. It’s a litter pricy at $650 but it has a crossbody strap and two handles and looks very stylish!
i really like this vid and can really see that u are emotionally connected to this tote bag, but as a elite hiker wearing 17 arcteryx jackets at once i strongly disagree with u saying that this is a good bag for hiking since anything else than a well designed 2 strap backpack is a pain in the ass for hiking. Other than that a great vid!
Hey bro, as an elite hiker I take ur word for it. Really what I was trying to express is the connection to a “preppy” lifestyle that the ll bean tote embodies. It’s a subject I realized 1/2 way through deserves its own video. If you’re a real hiker ever ounce counts, this isn’t the type of bag for that
