On the smaller side of this, I was running a Koa top Epi LPC tuned to C into a boosted Tiny Terror into an OS 2x12 with Marshall V30’s. That was a fucking sick massive tone especially for the size and price.
@@fmaraldo2829 Lately, Pepper has been using Orange amps for both COC and Down. Not sure what Kirk uses for Down, but he's been using Randall for Crowbar.
I'm glad you found the "one" guitar that makes you so excited to pick it up. I found my "one" last year, a 2021 PRS Core McCarty 594. Unbelievable guitar. So much so that I got a 2nd "one" in a single cut. Thanks for the videos.
@@ryanmcgrath9869 Not sure why, but my 2007 USA Select Snakeskin Jackson KV2 ALWAYS gets me excited. It was the first guitar I bought with my own money back in 2007, so that may have something to do with it.
Very cool!! I’ve always played Les Paul’s and loved them although you just can’t beat the playability of a fender. So, I decided to get a CE24 last year. I wasn’t ready to commit to my dream guitar (your McCarty) but now that I’ve played the CE24 for a year I think I’m ready. Definitely sold on PRS. They really seem to have some great innovation going on (especially the way they “split coils”) and their QC is second to none. Congratulations man!
I've had mine for a few years and recently rolled my power tubes and replaced the EL34's with some KT77's. I know that that all of this kind of stuff is extremely subjective, but I tend to play heavier things and with the KT77 tubes there is for sure some extra headroom there that really helps dial in that modern metal sound. Still def has the classic Orange snarly saturated mid thing, but lets me really push the pre-amp gain and remain tight and articulate. Either way Rockerverb is a kick butt amp that covers A LOT of ground tonally.
Sometimes you can steal some online… well steal means less than 1400. sadly i can not bond with the orange sound :((( would love to support the company
@@xriz8409 yea man. I have an MKI, MKII and MKIII, all 100s and like u said I got em for around that price here in Canada. People are kinda lost right now asking the price of new for their used gear lol. I paid 1350$ for my MKI, 1650$ for my MKII and 2050$ for my MKIII all shipped to my door.
Awesome, such a great and unique amp, and great riffs as always! I have an Orange Rockerverb 100 MKii in coming, and while it doesn't have attenuation as your MKiii, and the clean is a little less chimey, and reverb is a bit more wild, I'm really hoping it's going to be an awesome amp... I'm really looking forward to getting it. All your videos on the Rockerverb was part of the reason why I pulled the trigger on this amp... that and the fact I like playing a lot of stoner rock/doom metal, grunge type stuff, so I think this amp fits. I think it will compliment my Friedman JJ Jr. well and provide some different tones.
It seems like you really enjoy this amp as i do :) It was not that popular a few years ago but the feeling in the store regarding other brands was wow ! And i learned how to dial in this baby step by step. It's funny that you're using the mxr in the fx loop as well ^^ Have fun man !
Man your music is allways awesome 🤘 English amps have never been my cup of tea but this one sounded very good, lots of character, would love to check this guitar with the Fireball 100W or the 6505
Really dig your videos. Very informative and useful information. I'm a Rockerverb fan and was wondering if you were able to do a video on the Rockerverb MKII version. And or do a comparison on all 3 versions. THX.
I agree with the sentiment 100% -- I picked up a Rockerverb last year, and this is an amp you just plug in and GO, it doesn't take much to dial in an awesome tone and find instant enjoyment!
I have the same guitar as you & use a Mesa Rectoverb 25! You should try it & make sure you use any cab with vintage 30’s! You’ll be blown away with the little Mesa amp!
nice vid John! this amp is really cool indeed!! I like the cleans from orange too, more than Marshall's.. 2 questions! 1. Are you going to do a comparison between the LB-2 and Red Seven Load box? this would be nice! 2. are you only using the Gopros to record? The image is really good, maybe you could share your settings - I'm not sure/remember if you already showed it in another video, pardon me if I'm asking again :) cheers!
I'd kove to hear this too! I just got a super crush 100, and couldn't be happier with it, other than knowing it's so close to a real deal rockerverb that makes it not needed, but who am I kidding! After playing the SC100, now I want a rockerverb too!!!
Black on black with gold hardware, nice sounds beautiful. Orange 🍊 is my favorite amp. Got myself a beautiful stack OR15 head along with a four 12 closed back cab. Just trying to find a goldy locks guitar for myself, been looking to upgrade from my Yamaha acoustic electric for a while now. Gibson and fender and unfortunately for now Strandberg have been out of my budget, but am being hopeful with some schecter models I been eyeing. Great gear and playing and demos. Love this channel ❤️
I love the sounds of this particular orange amp. I borrowed it from a friend once and it blew me away!! I found the reverb knob was very sensitive, lots of reverb for all tastes. That Les Paul sounds wonderful! 🤘🏽🔥
Jon, have you played the Orange Super Crush 100? I'm wondering if your tone could be dialed in the same way. According other youtube'ers, it sounds almost the same as the tubed rockerverb. As always: great video + riffs \m/
Sounds great, I use a Les Paul Studio with my Rockerverb MKiii 100. I’ve also got a OR100, if you ever get a chance to try one then absolutely go for it. If you like the Rockerverb you will probably like the OR100.
The MKIII definitely has alot of Orange hair/fizz on it. More so then the other 2. I believe it is also voiced with abit more high end in there. I just can’t decide wether I prefer the MKI or MKIII more, for me the MKII is definitely great but the other two just got that little something special
I have a 1990 custom and also had a rocker verb mrk3 and I hated it. Bought a Friedman deluxe so much better although orange is built really nice. the sound was not there for me
I imagine pretty big. The original 50w had a 6V6 power section. I owned the original 100 and 50w and the 50 was totally different. The 100 was one of the best high gain hot rodded British sounds I've heard. The 50 was much more tame, a great rock/punk amp but not chunky enough for metal IMO.
The original Rockerverb had a great dirty channel, but the clean channel was lacking. In the Rockerverb II,they fixed the clean, but somehow goofed up the dirty channel. With the III they nailed it. Both channels are fantastic. The attenuator is a feature that I think should be on all tube amplifiers too.
The Rockerverb 50/3 is realy a great Amplifier. I am quite far away from playing Guitar so exzellent like you but nevertheless it`s a joy for example playing „Wonderfull tonight“ from Clapton on the clean chanel with a Boss Chorus-Pedal. For Rock-Songs I use the Gain chanel and for Metall-Sounds like „Tourniquet“ from Evanescence I use the gain Chanel and the Boss Super-Overdrive Pedal. Even better for this stuff is my „Dual dark“ Orange Amplifier. After a long working day the Sound makes feel you better. As Guitar I prefer an ESP or a Jackson. Sounds great together with „Orange“. Thanks for the demonstration of the Rockerverb. I learned a lot !
@Sonic Drive Studio do you think that a 100-watt rockerverb will be a lot different sound? I'm between 50 or 100 watt to buy! What you recommend for casual use for Stoner Rock? Is Really this low-end difference so big ? Thanks and your videos rocks!!!
I've got this amp/guitar combination too. But I'm in a cover band. We don't do metal, but we do switch from classic blues to rock and ZZTop "bluesrock". It works fine! We play one SRV song (Texas Flood) and... on my strat it also works (on the clean channel, with a Tube Screamer (Treble turned up, volume up, gain down) bc the Rockerverb doesn't have enough ("Fender") treble)... It 's spot on, nailed it!!! Isn't this an amazing amp???
Why did this need to pop up today? Just listed my Orange Root terror (closest I’ll get to a RV) for sale today…looking to buy a Makosamp hand wired amp from Hungary …second guessing the decision now…seriously would love a big boy Orange
I have this amp on the way, any chance you have an ec1000 with fisherman open core classic pickups you could demo ? great video by the way, hopefully mine will sound similar.
Hi Jon - because of your amazing sounding videos I bought the Amp Central. I’m having a blast but I’m not feeling it like I want. I know you basically don’t process the guitar tracks - do you have any master Buss magic you could share? I’m so tired of tone chasing- I chase more than I write until I play on any one of my amps thru any of my cabs. Then I’m creative till I pass out :) Im near 60 and LOVE heavy tones - can you help an old man out and dive deeper into your process? I think you make fantastic sounding videos. Don’t stop! Thanks
It sounds more or less the same as my MKI 50 head. It can handle a lot of styles, using the four gainstages and different guitars/pickups. A telecaster sounds great through a RV too.
MK I was not so good, MK II was better, MK III nails it IMO! the high prices are a bit disappointing so i got the joyo mojo "instead" and wow amazing how close it comes for just 150€. IMO cheers .
