This is kind of what my mom always said. It doesn't matter of we are blood Related if you feel like it, you are welcomed to be a part of our family. And she is talking about family. (I call my moms best friend aunt) but it also speaks for these people situation. I am not American and will never identify as American, but if they feel like a part of the American family, America should be welcoming them with open arms and happy smiles. It also goes like that to every other country. My best friend is a Muslim, her family and sister was born in Iraq, and I want her to remember that her ethnicity is Arabian but she is also very much Danish. Actually just as much as I.

It doesn't matter whether you are or aren't born here. It shouldn't define whether you're American or not. Their parents came here and worked hard to earn their place. That's all that matters.
