This is a true story. My experience at Manikarnika Ghat in the ancient city Varanasi of India - and my time meditating around the dead bodies in the cremation area. Telling Aghori ghost story
Varanasi is forever in my heart...I was there April 2023 I got the chance to visit Kabirs childhood home. I also sat at the burning ghat for awhile, saw a few Aghores wandering around the grounds. At the time India was having a heat wave...can you imagine! So much goes through ones mind when we find ourself so far removed from what we know as life. It's beautiful in all its colors. Incredible perspectives lovely...
Meditating around a dead body can be a deeply profound and spiritual practice in some cultures and traditions. In Buddhism, for example, there is a practice known as "cemetery meditation" or "charnel ground meditation," where practitioners meditate in the presence of corpses to confront and understand the nature of death, impermanence, and the cycle of life. This practice can help cultivate a deep sense of detachment, awareness, and acceptance of the inevitable nature of death. However, such practices are often undertaken with great care, respect, and under the guidance of experienced teachers. It's important to approach this with a clear intention and mindfulness, considering both the legal and ethical matters when engaging with such activities.
I spend so much time in India and love it so much that even when I’m back in the USA I watch these videos 🙏🏼❤️🇮🇳 India has a space for everything, and when you spend enough time there, you find there is order in the chaos. And I truly feel Mother India gives you exactly what you need (even if it’s showing you what you don’t need and what you are not) if you come with an open heart and trust in the process. Great video, thank you from a fellow drifter “Hippie” 😂
I think all of our experiences all accumulate and lead to self-realisation. Yogananda said the reason for this human incarnation is self-relisation. I think he was on point tbh
At 66 yrs old and having been way out there inwardly and spiritually since 1979, and the culmination of of the past three years as a karmic Self fulfillment, aging is an important ingredient of karmic Self development beyond egoic self. I guess I am the mystic you described in every mystical experience, practice and topic you brought up in this video, I have accomplished all of them in one degree or another over the decades. Lately the past three years I have sat in the exact same spot medtitating and healing my aging body mostly all day, nearly every day until there is an energetic bubble of consciousness beyond my normal intellectual consciousness, and to sit in it lately its almost like a teleporter to other deeper states of consciousness, I wear a blindfold to see each passing present moment in a manner the illusion of maya falls away
I visited the ghates in Kathmandu and it definitely was a profound experience. I watched a woman's 'ceremony'..I watched the flames, I sat quietly, her bracelet made of gold was the very last thing to drop to the ashes. the burning happens so slow yet so so quickly. she grew and maintained that body for years and years- and then it turns to smoke in a matter of minutes. I remember prior to it her family ..maybe around 15 people gathered and a few of the men assisted in ushering her down - they all appeared so peaceful. monkeys and other commotions happening around as if no big deal .
If I don't feel good and I see one of your videos then I instantly feel calm and in a safe place, maybe it's something in you , in your energy, in your words and the intentions behind them .. but you are powerful on me , I respect you a lot brother! Sending love.
I had a experience once where I was gifted holy water from the Ganges in the Krishna center in Denver Colorado. There was a lot of death happening in my life at the moment. I would sometimes soak my jewlery in that water and then put it back on. I had this one necklace that I really liked, each bead was a stone carved to look like a skull. I left it soaking in my bottle of Ganges water for a day and put it back on right before heading to the Krishna center. The talk that day was about everything that Krishna can take from us to bring us closer to the Truth. At some point I took off my necklace with the intention of putting it back on. I got up to walk around for a moment and when I came back the necklace was gone. I then thought deeply about the nature of life and death. After having that experience I find it interesting to learn this about the Ghat on the Ganges you went to as the necklace had stones shaped like skulls and it was taken from me as everything is in the end until all that remains is the Truth. Thank you Dakota for your stories 💜
It seems as though you don't have many more incarnates on this Earth. In all seriousness though, I resonate so deeply with this talk, it is so beautiful to me that humans can come together and bond this shared experience. It is not just a shared experience though, it is THE experience. All of the distractions/illusions are just obstacles we must overcome to return to the truth of who we are and why we are here in the first place. This talk feels like that. Also, thank you for inspiring me to travel more :) Karissa W
This was one of the dopest and deepest conversations I have heard in a long while. I adore you and this actually was meditation for me. I feel as if I've traveled alongside you. Ive shared it with my teacher or guru whom i believe will also dig this 🙏☮️🧘♀️
Dude, I asked my mom to send me to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's TMI, to learn to transcendental meditation (here in SoCal of course) and I have been meditating now for 50 years. BTW your tattoos are wonderful
Super happy with your evolution journey from the 1st time I saw your vlogs. I see you now and hear you! Go for it from where you are at, trust in the vibrations of the older ones and the next grace will come. Good on you mate!
Thank you Dakota, it was a good discussion. The Aghori, the not horrible horror, interest me deeply, your videos are my main avenue into their worldview and spirituality, I was especially impressed by Ram, thank you brother, journey well blessings 💛🙏🏼
As you were explaining your experience, I also saw so vividly what you were describing, as if I have seen this in another life. This could be why I see death differently from many ppl around me. Thank you for sharing this, It's empowering, and leaves me in awe... 🤍
Ultimately it's the goal to not need to do anything and no need to hold on to any construct of what spirituality is. Cuz it all just is it all is spiritual so everything you do is the practice.. integrity should be the focus in my opinion that's harder for most to obtain rather than enlightenment
Some day you’ll see that routine and structure will come but your freedom remains 💓 you’ll write books about your adventures and have many stories to tell your grandchildren ❤
As i heard every word here i could envision Lord Shiva meditating in cremation ground in front of burning flames & exuding this knowledge. It was message from Lord Shiva as u rightly said- what about the 'moment' thats what one has to conquer. Thank u for reminding me my path. Shiva said it all to me through u. KAASHI chose u all along many lifetimes. Om Namah Shivay 🔱Har Har Mahadev!🔱♥️much love to u Dakota. ❤
The noise is a real killer, if we have 72 thousand nerves it gets on every single one. My worst nightmare was the odours and seeing so much trash. Sorry to call it out but it can really get you down. It did my head in !
Dakota, I tried to revisit a video of you interviewing a lady about astral traveling, but I cannot find it. Has it been removed? I remember she being an artist with a website...its been a while.
You mean if I am listening to you and hear sudden sound of a bird or hammering, is it a vibration blessings come from God to me as it is not possible for you to know that I was listening but mystic carries these vibration and I hear it so i believe you a spritual path is going good my frd))
Is this you speaking alone or with the 🍄😆. Dakota your that guy. You've really reached an impressive level of awareness of the mystery we all share. I aspire to get to that in everyday life. Thank you for this🙏
The underlying nature of a person regardless of their state of being is that of unwavering love. I lived a depressed life and then i did ayahuasca. It shot me into such love I didn’t even have time to process the vibrational jump i had just made. When we die we emerge back into love, yes some are at different stages of development, still we are all one, expressing itself into different formats, different reflections of being. None of it is really all that serious. Not in the sense that the way we progress after death will have much to do with this experience on earth. It’s just one experience of the many experiences in the universe that completes a whole. Through living we add to the evolution of the universe. Maybe
Har Har Mahadev! 🌙🔱🌺 Got to to Varanasi due to some past life karmas and found your guru Bhavani Baba 🙏🏽🕉 What a beautiful meditation life is. GOD force is behind it all Generation Brahma Organization Vishnu Destruction Shiva Destruction leads to creation it’s all part of that GOD force
Noise and honking yeah Dakota the animals are like getting a bit upset about the f****** mess and noise and I myself have to agreement everywhere I go unnecessary noise and tools and oh just it's ridiculous noise the poor little wildlife babies they're all having a hard time
The ego is but a veil. Psychedelics perforate the veil. Once you truly see beyond the veil of the ego, life itself becomes a long form trip. Psychedelics are what Joseph Campbell calls the "Elixir Thief" archetype of the hero's journey. We can steal boon, but boon bestowed upon us by the creator is much sweeter, for it's not fleeting like boon stolen. Though Psychedelics have their use, the journey is here for those who are aware of it.
@dakotawint Are you on a journey of self worth? A journey of self love? or a journey of non-attachment? Joseph Campbell calls these archetypes "The Atonement with the Father", "The Sacred Marriage", and "Apotheosis". What myth is playing out in your life? What is everyone in your life trying to tell you? What is the recurring theme of your trips? What do the spirits keep bringing into your life?
@dakotawint What the spirits want you to see is in front of you at any given moment. Though I think that your ego is interpreting your experience as "aimless," you can ask the spirits to give you more obvious signs to guide you. Ask your grandmother for help if you feel like the spirits elude you. Aimless or not aimless, you are loved by the creator, the earth is your home, and all of these people on RU-vid love you for who you are, not what you do. I love you, brother. I hope I get to meet you in this this life. The spirits will decide.
But isn't it more like a decision before entering a new life? Like that, what you want to experience decides what shape your life will take in order to experience or learn what you decided.
Eat from good hotels , not street food , drink loads of water from a good source , have aome pro biotics and have lads of fruits , the seasonal ones you find there
Consciousness is not suited for the void. Lila, pastimes, are for the transcendental pleasure of the supreme source, or God, Krsna etc. We, the individual souls can rectify our fallen position by building our personal relationship with the supreme consciousness, which is us, and rules us, with love.
Why is this truth so hard to grasp tho? Why is the illusion so good at fooling us? Why does the illusion feel so real? For me trying to grasp this truth and realize oh wow we're actually eternal etc, is the only thing that makes me keep it together. But it's so hard to share with others also, how can you know these people drinking chai next to dead bodies aren't just used to it? This spiritual perfection that I idealize when I think of traveling to India or whatever is just in my head, but not because of India specifically as you describe it, but because the truth feels like an individual/subjective experience. Looking around it's like literally no one is living according to the Truth. Ram Dass said that we're bound to suffering the illusion cause that's what being human is for kind of. If we could totally trascend the ego we wouldn't be alive.
You are wrong about karma. Good choices and actions lead to liberation from all sufferings. Conversely, bad, or selfish choices and actions lead to more suffering. Performing your Dharma gets rid of previous karma, thus cleansing your slate.
Missed the stream and fell asleep but here I am, fully awake after being scared by a lizard that was in my bathroom. I just wanted to piss and go back to sleep but my adrenaline is at 10000 rn. Love your energy tho zennnnnn
@@SacredSilence-pd7gk people aren’t always able to find their alignment in this dense experience. To me it’s totally understandable if they choose to go back. Death is death, some are just more deliberate about the way they choose to go.
@SacredSilence-pd7gk The ultimate silence of the universe is within you here and now. No matter the difficulties. You are conscious awareness, not the difficulties. Are suffering arises from the over identification with the passing phenomenon. In order to find true happiness, we must break this identification with the objective world and see the Self, which is all. That which projects the phemenon. To do this, we sacrifice this mind and body to that by serving that which is all. Or we surrender to God, it's will but not ours for who am I anyways. So say the wise.
