Love the content. This has really helped me transition from a single ipad broadcast to a multi-cam sports setup. Question: Does the MiFi only help with a stronger internet connection (where you may be at a sports field with no WiFi and poor cell service)? Or does it help with the connections the Mevo Multicams have with the Multicam app running on say an iPad? On my first test run with baseball, I had 1 camera at home plate, a 2nd camera next to 1st base and a 3rd camera next to third base. I stood next to our dugout and could connect to the home and 1st base camera, but would lose the connection to the 3rd base camera. I even moved it closer to the 3rd base dugout while still having a clear shot of 3rd base. Will the MiFi (or another AP/Router) provide a stronger signal for the Mevo Cameras to connect to? Background: The baseball field I was at did have a strong 5Ghz Wifi Connection. I also tried my phone as a Hotspot. Ended up staying with the 5ghz Wifi but couldn't get that 1 camera to stay connected. I could walk closer with my iPad and walk back, but then eventually it would disconnect.
Short answer is yes. I ran a series of tests a couple years ago with Speedtest for my phone, ipad and mifi. The mifi consistently gave better upload speeds. Not scientific, but enough for me to stick with one. Now I use the mifi to feed a wifi6 travel router and it both stretches the distance I can place my cameras and keeps them from glitching/disconnecting.
Jason, do you know if you can overlay the video from multiple mevo cams? For example cam 1 behind home plate viewing 1st to 3rd, Cam2 is zoomed in on 1st base and is in a small box on top of cam 1's video.
Can you clear up this example for me? You have 3 Mevo cameras up and running and I want to use Multi Cam Software to switch views during the action Also, I want to keep score on iScore and keep Sideline HD updated. 1. Do you have Multicam software and iScore running together at the same time? So switch the views, then switch over to iScore, update what happened, and then switch back to the camera views. 2. Does iScore automatically on Sideline HD with who's batting, what happened, etc., or do you have to input what happened in Sideline HD? Forgive me if this has been covered, I just subscribed and watching all your videos now. Thank you for all your info. This channel is wonderful!
When using iScore for the scoring of the game in conjunction with SLHD for the overlays/scoreboards, you simply score the action in iScore and it syncs with what SHLD puts on your stream. They do both run at the same time on my iPad with Stage Manager (feature of the iPadOS) keeping both active.
No sir, there is no way in Multicam to do this. But I can tell you SidelineHD sends replays of kids at bats to parents (a predefined phone #) as soon as the at bat is over.
First off, thanks for creating these videos. I was able to get a Mevo start and start streaming my son's games this weekend with SidlineHD. What do you do about background music? My stream got blacked from Facebook because of copyright music. They later put it back, but I want to avoid this as much as I can.
Either get good at hitting the mute button, talk over the music with your voice or stream to a RU-vid channel and share the link on FB. I put my baseball streams on a small YT channel and share the link to various places.
I have a couple of cameras do this from time to time. It doesn’t change how long they will stream so I’m guessing it’s a glitch and may be related to using an underpowered charging block. If it’s bothersome you might factory reset it and make sure your block puts out 5v 3a or more per outlet.
Thanks for all the videos, just picked up a Mevo Start to stream my son's baseball games through sideline HD. Do you know if my stream would get flagged for copyrighted music if I'm not monetized?
For this video I was using my iPhone in a Hohem iSteady V2. Haven't reviewed this on my channel yet but it works very well. I also use the Obsbot ME with either the Mevo Start or an iPhone or GoPro.
@@sbkrew23 TopDirector is as close to this as I have found. Haven’t tried it with my GoPro yet but it has various ways to make us of a camera on the network, including by IP address.
