Since the classic creeds were composed before the age of the earth was an argument, these creeds do not address the age of the earth. There are other "gaps" as well in these creeds.

Newer creeds do exist but in my experience most churches who emphasize an old earth of 6,000 years or so do not use creeds but rather publish a "statement of faith" and many of these do mention the age of the earth. I've never seen a creed used in worship that addressed the age of the earth, have you?

Wouldn't it be more accurate to say that the person writing a certain passage was not divinely inspirit and was accidentally included in scriptures. Because what he wrote does not fit with objective verifiable evidence. That means that a Jesus reference wasn't meant to include that person who wrote a mistake.
