@@CarmenMartinez-qd7ik I think you may have misunderstood what she was saying. I think she was referring to people in general, being so lost and making judgements on those who do believe. At least, that's how I understood it. 🤔🤔
Traditionally, the dead, after 3 days were considered beyond ever coming back... After the 4th day someone has been dead would insure to anyone (including the religious leaders), that truly this was the power of God at work... The disciples confusion was normal... They were not yet EQUIPPED to understand or to do the will of God... In Acts, Chapter 2, after Jesus ascended to the Father, the disciples waited together (as Jesus had instructed)... The Holy Spirit filled them and now, they were FULLY equipped to do what ever God needed them to do (even unto death)... GOD IS SO GOOD!!! He chooses the weak, the simple and the uneducated, to confound the wisdom of the (so called) wise...
@@mukkins555According to traditional Judaism, the soul separates from the body at the moment of death, or last breath, and continues to exist as a form of consciousness. Jewish literature also suggests that the soul remains present for some time after death, possibly until the body is fully decomposed. For example, the Talmud states that the soul is aware of everything spoken near its body, and some debate whether this is true until burial or until the body decays.
What happen to the engineer that was Phillips friend that Jesus invited to join with the others ? Are the actors different ? I don't see his personality in any of the others.
This episode #7 Dallas Jenkins said was one of his favorites of season 4. I can understand why he likes this episode so much. Because it tells us so much about Jesus and what is about to happen next. Jesus is letting us know what needs to be done to let the world know He is the only way to Heaven. This was a great episode, I loved it too.
Jesus sweeping his gaze around prior to the raising Lazarus, looking at the disciples dull and uncomprehending faces, knowing what is coming not just for Him, but for them also, and he breaks...
I love you Brandon and your teaching gift. I don't respond much , but I wanted to let you know how thankful I am for what you bring to us. God bless you and your family and your ministry.
What I got from this episode. When Jesus asks Thomas to stay with Him even though it's hard and we don't understand. That hit me so hard!! Stay even when it's hard because He loves us and He will make everything we go through sacred and will consecrate our struggle! Beautiful!
You have really messed me up! Before last night, I have not watched, or even had interest in The Chosen. I only watched less than half of this video and had to check it out. Now I'll never get to bed on time again. I just finished 1:6. Good night. Oh, and thanks for filling in the blanks.
@BlesseedLaymanNC - It’s SOOOOOOO good, isn’t it? It took me forever to finally watch it, too, and It’s beyond amazing. I have heard that there are people around the world that are now reading the Bible because of this show.
It is an amazing series...I've been watching since the beginning. It would take weeks for episodes to come out but I waited. If you haven't yet, there is an app called The Chosen, where you can watch all 4 seasons for free
My guy, before you fall head over heals I think you should know that the main actor is a free mason and the main producer doesn't know what he is. Don't get me wrong, it's a good show but please, PLEASE don't get obsessed like so many do. Be a Berian
I really loved how Guias converted as the Praetor telling Jesus he could cure his son - only say the word and he will be healed - so powerful as a Gentile
He is the Resurrection and Life! ❤🎉 Yes 🙌 How blessed everyone should feel!! Our own Son of God in human form humbly died for our sins! We are unworthy. 🙏
Jesus suffered an unimaginable death on the cross for 6 hours and wondering why his Father did not save him. I cried when he died and I do today when I think about all the torture he went thru and no one tried to save him.
I have had some spiritual gifts and in a private meeting I shared a couple of those experiences. I shared some of them with a worker friend who happens to be a preacher. He got to ponder those things for a while. He told me to my face that he thinks I am possessed of an evil spirit. I can imagine that the Sadducee would see this raising of Lazarus by Christ would be seen as a threat. Thanks for sharing Brandon. I really like your reviews. Thank you.
I love how you explain everything. Write to the point. You point out all the important parts. That we need to understand. Thank you for your teaching. God bless you and your family.❤❤❤❤❤
Jesus had to call Lazarus by name, specifically. If He had just said "come forth", all of the dead in that area would have risen up; such waw and is His authority over death!
Thanks Brandon! We NEED TO READ THE WORD FOR OURSELVES, get into a church that teaches JUST the Word of God so u may, too, may know the true…not just hear what you are being told….bring your Bible TO CHURCH…so u too may know the true
Hi Brandon! I believe your explanation at @5:43 is incorrect. Let me explain why. In those times, the large stone was at the main entrance of the tomb. After the main entrance of the tomb, there was a resting stone for the body, where the deceased would be placed for a period of one year until only the bones remained. The bones were then collected and placed in an ossuary, and the ossuary was put in the small-sized tomb, as shown in your picture.
Absolutely! He told them he was sleeping so why would he cry? Jesus knew what He was about to do and he had told them he would awaken His friend. His spirit groaned and was troubled. He was weeping for their unbelief.
Was He weeping for the pain Mary and Martha was experiencing? Jesus was totally and fully man with human emotions and feelings and totally fully God. He knows how you feel emotionally and physically. He suffered everything man has suffered. He fully understands what we’re going through.
Or was he weeping because he knew that if He raised Lazarus as planned, He was sealing His own fate, and His painful, agonizing death on the cross would be almost immediate. In His humanity, it would have been an agonizing thought.
This series would be SO good for some jewish people to watch. It answers so many of question i think they have, and explains many false beliefs they have or that they think christians have.
You’re right Cajun. I’m a Jew who was baptized into the Christian faith in August of last year at the age of 69. This series helped me a lot along with Chuck Missler videos. He was such an incredible teacher for me. The two together worked a miracle for me and helped me to see. God bless. 😊
I'm surprised he didn't mention Lazarus's wrappings left on the ground that Mary Magdalene was staring at while everybody else returned to Lazarus's home.
Being someone who’s worked in hospice for many years and was blessed to be able to dress my friends before exiting their homes…I would agree ..Lazarus would definitely need a bath..possibly many to get the smell of death off.
This was a great episode, I only had one problem with it, the way Lazarus was raised. Lazarus would’ve been wrapped in swaddling he wouldn’t have been able to walk his arms and legs wrapped together the Bible in furs that Lazarus levitated out of the tomb and then they remove the rapping s.
Hebrews 12:1-2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, LET US LAY ASIDE EVERY WEIGHT, and THE SIN WHICH DOTH SO EASILY BESET US, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
Thank you for saying resuscitation instead of Resurrection. It only seems in Chosen circles that I've ever heard the phrase "resurrection of Lazarus" . The Resurrection comes for all the dead at Christ's second coming. Lazarus was resuscitated not resurrected because he would eventually die a second and final time. Once one is resurrected death no longer has any claim on them.
Not in the sense that Jesus was resurrected, with a new, glorified body. Lazarus reentered his former life (no doubt changed by the experience) and died again later.
Thanks you for this emphasize on the faith of Martha. I truly enjoyed the series. Wanted to add one point, Jesus's resurrection was a complete victory over death. The raising of Lazarus (and others) was a temporary rising from death as Lazarus (and the others) would die again.
Why is it important for individuals to consider both the negative and positive aspects of life before making decisions? Well, if we only look at one side of life it's like looking only one way before crossing a two-way street. Life has two sides just as a two-way street does, ignoring either side is not recommended. Would you cross a two-way street relying on faith or looking only one way before crossing it? If we choose to cross a two-way street without looking or looking only one-way before crossing it shows that we are willing to jeopardize not only our own life but others as well. Making life decisions based on assumptions is considered a gamble. Sometimes we may not have time to question some decisions but most of the time we do. If we refuse to question decisions especially if we have time to do so shows that we are not interested in being the best that we can be and are willing to gamble away our life or another.
I had not heard anyone teach this passage using the word resuscitation before either. However spiritually speaking I can understand why you don't use the word resurrection. I believe the Bible teaches that resurrection involves a perfectly formed spiritual entity with no humanity associated with the body. In other words, a miraculous transformation of ourselves. Lazarus did not escape all of humanity. In Jesus's words, he was asleep. Yes, he was dead, and he started to go through the decay process. But do you get what I'm trying to say? He didn't get made perfect and new. God hadn't done that for him; he was not resurrected. Anyway that's my take on it. I appreciate your teaching all the time.
One important reason that the priests equate the rise of Jesus with Rome destroying them is that the religion of Jesus day (which had, since Ezra's time, removed all idolatry) had somehow turned the temple into an idol. They believed the temple was the only safeguard that kept Rome at bay -- it was like a good luck charm. Jesus undermined the temple -- so if people started following Jesus, the funds to maintain the temple would diminish -- and eventually the temple would fall, allowing Rome to swoop in. Ironically, the death and resurrection of Jesus made the temple obsolete -- so God allowed it to fall at the hands of Rome.
How hard can it be to understand Jesus, when Thomas himself doubted and couldn't while seeing it with his own eyes .The devil throws doubts in our hearts.he poisons it with pride and arrogance,i don't see much good anymore and time has come to an end .
Biblically, The fact that Jesus weeps in this situation brings context to human pain and suffering. When bad things happen, we often ask, "does God even care?" This simple statement, "Jesus wept," proves that He does. Even when Jesus knew He was about to make right what was wrong, He still "felt" the pain of the people He was there to serve. Responding to tragedy, we sometimes ask, "If God really cared, why not stop this happening in the first place?" The Bible tells us even our hardest moments have a purpose in God's will (Romans 8:28). At the same time, Scripture tells us God truly, deeply understands the pain we feel while we wait for that plan to be completed (2 Corinthians 5:1-5; Isaiah 53:3). Jesus is about to resurrect His good friend, bringing Lazarus back to his sisters and family. In the meantime, He weeps, sharing their pain and their sorrow.
I have learned so much from your ministry and would like to support it. I don't do any financial transactions on the computer is there any other way I can contribute to it financally?
As a child, I read the Bible cover to cover numerous times. I went to many churches of varying faiths; Jewish and Christian; Catholic, etc and every protestant variation. None explained scripture as clearly and reasonably as you have. More of their versions just didn't make sense. I enjoy your insight and it is closer to what I believed.
Ok ... I love the insight as it pertains to the temperature of the culture at that time. Lazarus was truly dead. Our Lord certainly raised him. Those of you with doubts about the validity of this fact I hope gain affirmation. I like The Chosen. It's moved me to tears many times. However, I'm also aware that the actor who portrays The Lord is actively pursuing membership into the order of the free masons (it's out there, he himself said it). Also, The main producer of the show, Dallas Jenkins has said and I quote, " Christ followers and Mormons believe in the same Jesus". The 2 together went and meet the pope. Who, if I ever got as close to as they did, would kick in the nuts. There is so much more too. So while this Brandon guy seems to want to completely yolk himself and his RU-vid channel to the show, I certainly hope all of us who love Jesus see this for what it is, just a show.
I love the show too. But I myself am well aware it's a show and not true biblically written at all times.( Which Dallas did say it's not meant to be a replacement for the Word ) I Am very disappointed that Johnathan is so wrapped tight in his catholic beliefs, he really can't see the heresy the sect teaches. I certainly don't like the pope but I would pray for him to have eyes to see, not "kick" him.
This is a very good series from what I've watched so far. However there is so much that goes way beyond scripture. Just remember Leviticus 10:1-3 about Strange Fire: "1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not. 2 And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord. 3 Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the Lord spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace." Those who watch this series should either be grounded in the Bible or ground themselves in it. Although it shows what really happened according to Mathew Mark Luke and John, this series does take many liberties to portray instances that are not in the Bible which makes it part fictional.
You know, I've always wondered why Jesus wept at Lazarus' death if he knew he was going to bring him back from the land of the dead. As for the ancient apostles, since most all of them died from a form of crucifixion, which not only is death, but an excruciating death. Each is a story I'd like to know the details of, especially John. According to John's own account, I believe he was permitted to tarry on the Earth until Jesus' return, for he writes: Peter seeing {John} saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? 👍Jesus saith unto him, “If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.” Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, ‘He shall not die’; but, “If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?” This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true. And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. 🔐 John is telling us here that he was given an unusual gift, which was to tarry in the flesh until Jesus second coming. In short, he was translated, like Enoch and Elijah. We're given the story, then we're told that scripture cannot contain all the sayings and doings of Jesus. John is telling us what Jesus did for him, then reminds us that space (for writing) is at a premium, so what he just told us is very important - not to take it as a throw-away story. Jesus didn't say John would never die (we all die), but that he would tarry, or wait, until Jesus returned.
The disciples still were influenced by the the people at that time and the people were looking for a military Messiah. As jesus frustration grew with them knowing they didn't get it he also knew they would eventually get it and the holy spirit given to them would help them to go on to preach salvation to the world. We as Christians know that they gave their lives knowing that Jesus was the Messiah and came to bring Salvation to all.😀😀 Praise him! All glory to God!😃😃!!
Posting a video seconds after the episode ends, claiming people missed things when you have no evidence to support it. This is what you THINK people would have missed. It's actually quite sad that you think you need to do that. You should try letting the episode breathe and see what people are ACTUALLY saying about it rather than speculating.
Five blind people describing an elephant! When one has the Holy Spirit within them, they all see differently. That's the beauty of it! We are not at the same place in our belief. Some are in the Wilderness, some in the Jordan River and some in the Promised Land. No one is above the other. Allow the Holy Spirit to do His job!
If he reassurected him from death then that would have spoiled the whole gift of resurrection by the Savior after his death.. He was supposed to be the first fruits of it not Lazarus
Well, He left His throne of glory and humiliated to the lowest (Phillipians 2:6). Also, this was foreshadowing what was going to happen to Him, so the disciples could understand, believe and learn.
My friends. Lets figure that we are filming Stage 4. Lets visualize us in front of Jesus but today filming The Chosen and going thru what they were going thru mentally and psychologically at that time. Lets visualize us in front of Jesus watching Him going thru His thoughts of what was going on, what was coming to all of us, and what was His commission. And knowing what we know today, what would He say to the saduceus and fariseus of today, to the churches, to the cold of hearts, to the uncaring and apathetics of today. Those who dont believe and dont care to find out why He sacrifices Himself for all of us. WAO, WAO, WAO. What would we say, do, think. Lets be ready because He is coming with big questions. Love you all.
Jesus did not want to bring him back and Lazarus did not want to come back. Jesus cried because he only brought him back because his sister wanted him to. I think Jesus should have said no!
Because eventually, Laz does die again, he is human. So it was essentially a resuscitation. When Jesus resurrected, he did not die again; a symbol of what we will be when its our time at the end of the age.
