@ShawnandMel - This song was featured in one the all-time movies and it is of course, Top Gun released by Paramount in 1986. And 36 years later we got Top Gun: MAVERICK, great movie and 36 years we have waited for this film to come out since the pandemic hit
OMG…. This song takes me back to an awesome time in my life! Top Gun Was a mega hit in the theaters. The songs in this movie were awesome as well. Kenny Loggins did a excellent job with this song!
My husband was a Navy pilot and he said Maverick is closer to what really happens than Top Gun was. I was so blessed, he came back after every mission, many didn't, next month we'll celebrate 45 years together. We met when we were 10, he proposed when we were 12 and we got married when we were 18.
Kenny is one of my favorite male vocalists of all time. What a voice. This Is It with Michael McDonald is a must from him. Footloose and I’m Alright as well.
the Danger Zone is about flying military aircraft right to the edge of theirs and the pilots capabilities...the first 15 minutes of this movie are absolutely AWESOME!!!! the movie was Top Gun. the US Navy...
Kenny loggins has such a beautiful distinct sounding voice ! No one sounds like him 😍❤️❤️❤️ so dope I really really love this song.. music doesn’t sound like this anymore 🥺
This song always brings me back to when I was getting my forklift ticket for a warehouse job; all the training videos had this blasting as an introduction before they got into the part where they describe all the deaths, injuries, and destruction from improper forklift usage. Some of it was pretty graphic. There was decapitation, impaling, crushing, broken necks, and all sorts of generally unpleasant things that could happen to a person being enacted there. They were all apparently based on case histories of actual workplace accidents though - so it did have a point to it.
Song brings back memories my dad was in the Airforce he took the entire family to see top gun and I think I was around 13 when it came out omg thanks for the upload
Kenny Loggins was 'THE' soundtrack king of the 80s--This song cemented his godhood!!!! You have got to hear the rest of the Top Gun soundtrack; ESPECIALLY, Cheap Trick's Mighty Wings!!!!
I love your reactions, not just to the great song, but to the movie scenes as well! Lots of fun!! I thought it was cute and a little ironic when Mel said she couldn't think of the title of the movie "off the TOP of my head"; she had part of the title right in that statement without knowing it. :) (That's not meant to be critical... that happens to everybody!).
Love yalls reacts, always. Shawn man at like 3:20 when you just had to get a hand up i feel it too brother! that adrenaline comes through and you caint hold it!
This song is also used as an accompaniment to many actual military tribute videos. Very inspiring & "real-life" action-packed. God bless the US Armed Forces, & God bless the USA.
Top Gun is a NAVY movie! F-14 Tomcats. I had a contract in Miramar California and the hotel I lived in was right where I was at the east end of the runway for the actual Top Gun. I used to watch F-14's come in from the desert to the east after a day of "Playing".
Top Gun was one of the biggest movies of 1986, and as someone else said it was the film that made Tom Cruise a megastar. Try Michael Sembello’s “Maniac”, classic early 80s soundtrack tune.
Fun fact- if you’ve already reacted to the song “ We Are The World “ , Kenny Loggins is featured in it, and most RU-vid reactors never knew who he was. I say that just to say that everyone who was givin a separate feature line to sing was mostly legendary artists, and each artist in the video should be checked out and reacted to. Most people didn’t know the legendary Al Jarreau or the legendary James Ingram either.
One of the many great songs from Top Gun. This movie has it sll for both men and women. High testosterone scenes with motorcycles and fighter jets...f14 tomcats to be specific...and then there's love scenes and men's sand volleyball in the San Diego sun for the ladies 😏
Check out Kenny Loggins, "Footloose" from the movie of the same name. He has many records out. "Your Mama Don't Dance", "I'm Free", "This is It" a real banger love song.
The Movie is called "Top Gun" and the soundtrack is really good. Cheap Trick, Berlin, Miami Sound Machine and Loverboy are also known groups on the soundtrack. I personally like the Top Gun Theme.
Looking forward to the sequel to Top Gun. Original Top Gun was released in 1986. Sequel appears to be slated for release on May 27,2022. 36 years is a long time for sequel to follow. Can't wait. Wonder if Kenny Loggins will be on the sequel's soundtrack too.
Kenny is the man. The little bass lick in the beginning is so cheesy thought not gonna like. It doesn't sound like real notes but rather the same bass sample spread out over a few keys. The 80s were hilarious like that though.
I was on the aircraft carrier uss Independence-cv62 when this song and the movie Tpo Gun came out. It's not the air force! It's the NAVY! Air Force is not as highley trained as a navy pilot. They take off and land on a moving ship at sea and in the black of night! I was aircraft handler and ships security force. Everyone's reaction to this thinks it's the Air Force, IT IS NOT!!!! It's ALL NAVY. Don't you see the tomcat launched from the aircraft carrier near the end of the video??? Or the Navy uniforms in the video??
