Hey Guys:) In todays video I show you everything Greyson eats in a day, along with other meal ideas. I hope you enjoy:) Instagram: / kelseyakavanagh Twitter: ka...
Grayson is the most advanced baby I have ever seen!!! My mouth was dropped basically the whole video!!! When he drank from the glass, that blew my mind. This video was two years ago, I’m sure he is an engineer now!
Hey just be patient and just keep introducing things. :) My little guy didn’t seem interested for the longest time but I would hand him a Cheeto puff or a piece of fruit. He’s ten months old and he’s just now started eating a little better. And sometimes he just doesn’t feel like it. Remember that textures are new and it’s a brand new and different thing than breast milk and formula. Anything before 12 months is just an introduction to food, so it’s okay if they only take a little taste or make funny faces or spit it out. Just smile and be patient, and if they throw it down or push the spoon away just let it go and try again later. And reintroducing things that they push away, is good. They recommend trying a food several times before deciding they really don’t like it. Oh, and the yogurt melts are amazing for a first snack. My baby LOVES them. Sorry for rambling. Good luck. #teammama
Every baby is different!! I would talk to your babies doctor before introducing anything like this but we were given the go ahead at 6 months to give him basically anything we are eating with the exception of honey, peanut butter and some fish
I'm giving my 7 month old some whole foods but introducing slowly cause the family has so many food allergies . I can't give a lot of foods cause I'm scared man. Lol
@@thusyanthythagooran738 I hope things get easier. My baby turned 1 in august. So far he is allergic to eggs and peanuts. I haven't given him dairy, seafood or other nuts yet.
Hi, I have a 10 month old with 2 tiny teeth and I'm so afraid of giving him food to eat himself. I've been feeding him homemade pureed food like spinach, carrots etc.... so I would cook up carrot and spinach with rice and blend it roughly. Or what I have for supper I would blend roughly for him too. Can you give me some advice on feeding him something that's not pureed or blended and how to know what's the right size to avoid choking. I've tried it and everytime he bites off a chunk of bread I jump up and take it out of his mouth... frantically
My baby hates puréed food so I started off with things that I know dissolve quickly. His first food that he really liked was Cheetos puffs. They kind of test out how far they can put something in their mouths. He would like gag himself a little to test it out but mostly he just munched down even without teeth. Their gag reflexes are much stronger than ours. He was eating Cheetos, cookies, grapes cut in half, strawberry’s (fruit is also fun and good for teething if it’s frozen), all before he had any teeth at all. If something got too small I would just exchange it for a new one. The freeze dried frozen yogurt melts are also amazing. My little guy loves them. I just put a few of those, random little cereals and the little star puff things in the baby section, on the coffee table. He really likes to be independent. Finger foods are a great start for them. His pediatrician recommended skipping purées bc it can cause problems with knowing how to eat solids. My little one is 10 months old now and has two tiny teeth as well. Tonight he had Mac and cheese, French style green beans, corn, chicken nuggets and mashed potatoes. You don’t have to be super fancy, just give him little spoonfuls of different things on his high chair to try for himself. You’d be surprised what they can eat. He just bites off of things now that he has his two teeth. He is so independent and strong willed that he didn’t like being spoon fed. Just put a bib on him and be patient and introduce him to some safe easy to eat finger foods. :) You’re a great mom for caring so much. Good luck. 👍🏼
Bread won’t hurt him btw. My babe eats biscuits, and bread kind of melts down a little in your mouth. It’s soft. They’ll spit out anything they can’t swallow usually.
Have you ever had a freak out moment of him choking? My daughters 7 months with no teeth yet but she loves every puree i make her. Im just so terrified of giving her a solid and her choking. She always tries to take huge bites when I let her try my food
No I haven’t, luckily he’s always been a food eater. He’s almost two and we have never had a close call of him choking . I have another video on my channel where I talk about how I switched him from purées to solids if you want to check it out I will leave the link. It’s a more in depth video where I even talk about choking. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WgHhwbS-wn4.html
That’s the issue I have with my baby. She just takes such giant bites and it freaks me the hell out. I really don’t know what to start her on solid foods like that.
How did you start introducing solids my son is 6 months and I want to start him on purées he also hasn’t gotten his teeth yet either so I’m not too sure what would y’all recommend I’m a first time mom?
I've done mostly purées so far but I so badly want to get more creative with whole foods. My 7 month old always makes a face and spits out chunks but take blended food no problem. The only "whole food" he's attempted has been banana (probably because it's sooooo soft) and watermelon lol Also be hates water! How do I get him to drink water?!
This is what I’m worried about. Should I cut the things in slices and have him eat like that. I tried cutting the food every small but he didn’t seem to like that’. Tips
They mash it down. You’d be surprised lol. It’s kinda embarrassing but my baby stole a piece of dog food from our puppy and when I checked his mouth to see what he had he had mashed it. Lol. And those are hard.
alicia lopez I’ve been trying this with my 7 month old. I usually just “toast” a slice of bread and cut off the edges, from there I just cut it in 4’s. Easy for them to grab it. Just scramble an egg with butter.
I’m suprised that he hasn’t choked my nerves was gone watching that my 7 month old has choked a few times on actual baby food out the jar if I feed her food cooked from scratch all has to be blended in to a purée no way would I give her food in chunks like this so dangerous
It’s actually not dangerous!!! If you do it properly the term is called Baby lead weaning and a lot of people use it. He is now almost 2 years old and an amazing eater and hasn’t chocked once!!!!
Thank you for showing this kind of thing. It’s extremely helpful bc my son has just never really liked puréed food and he also prefers to feed himself. I was worried about finger foods at first bc he doesn’t have teeth yet but he does chew and I started him off with the tiniest bits first to let him get the hang of it. It’s cool to see how you prepare his food so that I can have an idea of what I can introduce to my baby.
He’s always been a really good eater and only puts in a little at a time. I always sit with him just in case he puts to much in. If he does he can spit out the food that’s too much. Every child is different, for example this is an old video and he is almost 2 and I have a 6 month old currently and I wouldn’t feed him like this he just isn’t ready. You have to do what’s best for you and your child:)
My son wants food so bad but I’m scared he’s going to take too big of bites or that something is going to be too hard for him. Is my fear irrational? I don’t want to hold him back but I’m scared he will choke. I give him realllly soft things like pasta, grilled cheese etc. but I feel like he could eat more.
I find this hard to grasp I’ve had 4 kids been taking care of kids (home daycare )for the last ten years never seen a 7 month old eat a solid without getting chocked and a whole peach.?he must be 1 in a million or you lie to gain views I bet he grows up loving tacos like his mom and mom.
I’m so nervous too. My 7 month old still gets purées. I was thinking of trying scrambled eggs and some teething biscuits that dissolve fast. All babies are different. I guess once they get the hang of feeding themselves solids, they’re champs! This baby eats great. 👍🏽
It’s ok for them to choke a little. I know that sounds bad 🤣🤦🏾♀️ but they have to learn how to cough stuff out of their throat when they take too big of a bite or whatever. We didn’t just know how to do that. It’s a thing you learn as you get more exposure to different foods. You really just know what your baby can do. You watch them learn and grow and eat and you know what their skill level is at at all times for different things.
Start off with things that dissolve easily. That’ll calm your nerves a little. They mash it with their gums. You’d be surprised what they can eat before they have any teeth at all. Cheeto puffs, freeze dried yogurt bites, the star shaped fruit puff things, cookies, a biscuit, slightly overcooked veggies (I buy the smaller cans of green beans and veggies that I can just put in front of him), canned mandarin oranges, grapes cut in half, strawberries, (fruit is also yummy frozen and feels good on their gums. I admit it’s super scary at first. Once something would get too small I would take it from him and trade it with a new one. But they’re smart little human beings. They test their gag reflex and are usually pretty careful. They may gag but their gag reflexes are much stronger than our bc nature built us this way to protect us. His pediatrician told me to skip purées altogether bc it can delay them on being able to eat solid foods. Good luck, and breathe sister. :)
My 7 month old is just taking formula and fruit or vegetable purées. I tried giving him eggs and avocado in the morning and he did not want to eat none of it. He has his 2 bottom teeth and im already seeing top teeth peeking out. Im surprised how well your son was eating at 7 months.
My son showed an interest in food very early on. Every baby is different don’t rush it just take your time. If he’s only interested in purées right now that’s fine
He eats good for 7 months. I have a 7 month old and she isn't digging the solids at all. She is still on pureed. She always starts to choke. Did he start off eating good or did he struggle at all? I'm scared of the choking...
Coughing, gagging & spitting up are all normal. Choking is not. Choking is where they can't breathe, can't cough, stop making noise or turn blue. If they are coughing or gagging let them work it out. If you start patting them on the back you can actually cause them to choke. My daughter gags all the time & spits out whatever she has & then grabs more food. It doesn't affect her at all. As long as momma is calm. That's the hardest thing for moms I think, to not do anything and stay calm. Good luck!
Nice, I started feeding my 2 boys after they reached 3 months because I breastfed them and they're such big babies and I was so poor can't afford formula. But I never have them junk foods/ frozen foods. Everything organic and I cooked their foods.
He is such a big boy.ek eats ever thing with no teeth.my daughter is 7months as well and got 2 teeth but I'm to afraid to give her the types of food you feed him.she was born at 8months
Samantha du Plessis he loves food!! I can’t imagine how he would eat with teeth! But it was definitely scary to start out but I am trained in baby first aid and CPR so that helped ease my mind
I swear you look like a mix of Kim Kardashian and Gabrielle union! And he eats so good!! What’s the little bouncer called he was in at the beginning of the video?
You did not show the baby eating the food and I am highly doubtful that your child eats like that - and doesn’t even choke. I feel like you are trying to choke everyone’s baby by feeding him huge pieces. I tried to feed my baby the foods like you are doing and he choked every time. Also how can we be taking advice from two women raising a child together? How is this a role model? It’s just wrong.
First of all every baby is different and he is now almost 3 and is still an amazing eater. His brother is now 16 months and would gag a lot and didn’t eat this well this early! You can believe what ever you want but your the one still watching so clearly your still interested in taking advice from two moms.
My baby is breastfed and uses bottles. We use this cup and it’s awesome. It definitely takes time for them to get used to and it doesn’t seem like they’re getting anything but they are. Apparently it’s good for teething.
So cute! I have heard, however, that shoulder straps in a high chair are unnecessary and prevent the baby from naturally thrusting forward in the event that they start choking...
So my daughter is the same age I'm so scared to give her like eggs things with a thicker texture since she doesn't have teeth I'm afraid she's going to choke any pointers ..you weren't nervous?
I wasn’t nervous as I am CPR and first aid certified and did a lot of research on baby lead weaning before I started. As long as I could easily squish the food in between my finger and thumb I knew he could chew it!!! Babies gums are actually a lot stronger then most people think. Your daughter will probably gag a-lot which is completely normal. They are learning how to manipulate food around in their mouths. Their gag reflexes are a lot further up then an adults so it’s easier for them to gag it’s all new to them and a learning process. If she starts to cough then you know she isn’t choking and coughing is a sign that air is getting in. Do a lot of research about what sizes the food should be cut into for her age and what foods to start with!! I wish you the best of luck:)
Babies gums are actually a lot stronger then we think. Their gage reflex is also a lot further up then ours so as long as the food is small enough that they won’t choke they are more likely to gage it up if anything. He’s been eating solids for over a month now and does really well. I have a video on my channel talking about how to transition baby from purées to solids and I go into more detail in that video
he has never choked on his food!! He is now almost 2.5 and I also have an almost one year old who would gag a lot as well. Gagging if very common and completely normal. It’s new to them and they are learning how to manipulate food in their mouths. As long as baby led weaning is done correctly like cutting food into long skinny stripes and it’s soft enough for you to squish between your thumb and index finger then you shouldn’t have any issues. Babies gag reflexes are a lot further up then ours so they will gag a lot rather the choke but still keep a close eye on baby while they are eating incase they do start to choke and you need to assist. If they cough they are not choking as coughing means they are getting air!! I hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck:)
My daughter, at her 8 months old, eats a lot of things ... She didn't eat anything from the jars, only mixture instead of milk and once a pack of cereal cereal with an apple Hipp, cookies and bagels... all boiled zucchini ... Boiled and fried egg ... Apple, pear, grapes, avacado, persimmon, banana ... Turkey meat, beef, wild game, boiled or baked chicken, boiled trout, fresh cucumber... Boiled buckwheat and rice, cottage cheese and cheese are hard and creamy .. Dried bread, natural orange juice...Thin noodles with chicken broth from 7 months and were given from sushi shrimp, rice in caviar ... Teeth appeared from 7 months at the bottom 2 are already .. From 6 months it stands on its legs. Very active, talkative and a cheerful girl.
I thought my baby wouldn’t eat anything other than breastfeeding either. I was stressing about it honestly but I figured out that he likes being independent with eating. He doesn’t like puréed food so I’ll just give him a few bites of it and try reintroducing it randomly. His first food that he really took on was Cheeto puffs. I thought he wouldn’t eat anything but I think he’s just a little independent guy that wants to do it himself. Lol. Now he eats mandarin oranges (the soft small ones in the can), the yogurt bites, the puffs, and even carrots and broccoli. It’s so wild. Don’t give up or feel like it’ll never happen. It’ll happen mama. Just keep trying and relax. Babies can tell when you’re stressed so be happy if they take one or two bites and praise them and tell them what a big girl she is when she tries something new or takes a bite. :)
Is the table food diet for breastfed babies different from formula fed? My baby is ready for table food I feel, but his doctor said to wait. And I’m scared he won’t chew everything because his teeth hasn’t come in yet 😭
Please please please anyone watching this DO NOT USE THE SHOULDER STRAPS incase baby chokes they can’t naturally thrust their body forward and that’s soo soo dangerous!!!!
It’s definitely scary at first but they will gag a lot in the beginning which is completely normal as they are learning how to manipulate food around in their mouth and a babies gag reflex is a lot closer up
I don’t understand why my doctor told me not to give my baby water But here the baby is seven months and drinks water she told me only after she is 12 months and he’s eating regular foods my baby is still eating apple sauce and Baby food stage two she is seven months plz give me advice.
You should follow what your doctor recommends as every baby is different. We got the go ahead to give water at 6 months in small amounts. We started him off with purées at 4 months and around 6 months we made the transition to whole foods.
Also it gets like that when they start solids all normal, maybe try weetabix soaked in milk for 30 mins, making sure its soggy then try your little man? Its meant to make really runny poop so if you feel hes ever constipated try that! Xo
My grandsons just turned 8 months and im scared to feed him solids like this! Im just scared hes gonna choke so i feed him Gerber and when his mom gets home she feeds him solids.. I wish i was brave like you!
It definitely is intimidating at first but the more you do it the more you will feel comfortable. Maybe trying feeding him solids while mom is there and see how that feels? I wish you the best of luck:)
