It was great to see Katarina Roth putting in place that lady from the Globsec, who was trying to spin the story into Russian propaganda issue. This NGO organization Globsec is well known for interfering in political process in Slovakia and is part of the problem, why is Slovak society so divided. ( Sorry for my English )
The whole world is watching, waiting for full transparency of facts of the horrific attempt to kill a prime minister of Slovakia. I hope Slovakia can continue to be a vibrant and unique Democracy, serving it's citizens needs to prosper in peace. Partisan positions will always be there on all sides. Things will become increasingly obvious when the smoke clears.
Statistically speaking, i would challenge the claim that this was a “black swan moment”. Over the past 12-18 months alone, there have been a number of assassination attempts, some resulting in fatalities, on high profile political and/or media figures with polarizing views, throughout the world. From Japan, Ecuador, the Netherlands, and now Slovakia. Over a longer timeframe (>=100yrs), these sorts of events likely fall within the tail end of their “normal” statistical distributions (i.e., +/- 3σ). This is part of the human experience, and human nature, the only difference being that in the current information society we live in, we witness and react to these events in real time, the perception of which makes it overwhelming and harder to digest.
It is very clear Robert Kaliňák Minister of Defence said his motivation today and how it happened. These two lie deflect because guy who did it shares their views.
The person who shot our prime minister had views that do not fall to any clear camp. He wrote quite hateful words on Roma people, than, also, he had speeches against violence. He may not agree with many things that our government does, but neither does a lot of other people. Basically we are split on many issues 50/50 plus-minus some % to one side. And the government has only support of around 30% of all voters in Slovakia. Nearly 30% are voters of opposition, and 40% are silent and haven't voted for anybody. Just by goning by statistics, and his complicated views that we know of, that do not fit either coalition or opposition parties, he is more likely from a camp of those 40% who do not find any party to be to their liking and feel unrepresented, abandonded and without hope. People that go to protests against governmental policies do not always vote for parties that organize them. I have friends that would never vote for PS, but also do not like changes in the government and the policies. And they have been to the protests.
Leaders in Eastern Europe should pay attention to the cause and underlying feeling. It's simple. There are many, many people in Eastern Europe who will never peacefully return to rule under the Russians. Politicians of all parties should listen to everybody and find a peaceful, non-violent way.
Man who shoot PM Fico, sympatized with nationalist paramilitary group whitch supports Russia side. Group is called "Slovenskí Branci". Also he wrote xenfobic poetry againts gypsies in 2016...
WHY do Slovaks have to CHOOSE? West or East? Just be neutral and remove all foreign influences. THEN YOU CAN DECIDE what is nest for your country. CHOOSE PEACE, FREEDOM AND TO BE SLOVAKIAN (whatever that may mean). Sounds to me you're all fighting for extremes to BELONG to someone else! Perhaps that is the PROBLEM? Perhaps Slovaks are "frightened' to be Slovaks? Is there coercion going on? BE UNIQUELY SLOVAK.
@@marinaadamia9018 At some time, even with mother and father, you are expected to apply your own intelligence to make decisions to survive. Even mothers and fathers expect that.
@@johnadam2885 Exactly. So how are yo going to survive on your own in today's world, do you have a recipe you can share with us? And what country are you from that does not have any influence from anyone, may you, wise man, tell us.
Who is paying these Slovak bodyguards and for what? After all, even a layman can see that they are amateurs who do not deserve to be the bodyguard of such a high-ranking official!
Slovak ex head of security for politicians was giving interview shortly after this happened he was saying he warned them to double up on security two weeks ago they did not listen... they asked him back in the day to employ some of their kids and relatives to the security he refused also...so make your opinion 😂
