I love Kovalenko, I think his skill set is undeniable. He’s really tough and I can’t wait to watch him play. I honestly believe he’ll have a really good few games with the avs here soon, hopefully have some good shifts and get a few points maybe. Give them a hard decision on if they should scratch him for the playoffs or keep him on the roster for a guy like cogs possibly. Nothing wrong with cogliano, the team just has so much wing depth. But I think this guy is too talented he’ll definitely have a shot at that last playoff roster spot.
He may play in the last 2-3 games for some NHL experience…granted if he’s cleared to play after injury. Avs acquired depth and some experience before the trade deadline and I feel Parise was a great sign. Landy MAY comeback too…playoffs means (no cap hit with an active roster) so there’s that. Avs are on a tear right now with 8 straight wins and 10-1 in 11. Plus the newest additions have contribute in scoring (Walker, Mittelstadt) and Chu Chu back has factored in. Avs look RIDICULOUSLY SCARY thru March and I can see them as a Stanley Cup favorite…just as long as GG in the pipes can stay consistent. Avs have a big ??? for a reliable backup. Annunen has moments (back to back SO’s) but not convincing…especially in the playoffs. Die hard Av’s fan and I factor all the details. Potential is definitely there…but the playoffs are a whole other level….but see the Av’s as favorites now thru the pick ups in depth. Shit….2 in 3 years and 4 total since 96!?!? Can’t wait for the playoffs to start!!!
lol and #51. Kovalenko was a favorite Nordique of mine. Along with Kamenski. If Nikolai can be as good as Andrei then its win for any team who gets him.
As soon as he’s healthy it depends on how he plays with the avalanche. Maybe a couple games replace some ld players and then find out who he has chemistry with on lines with the team before he has a permanent place
