As a bigger girl myself, I was actually looking forward to seeing some representation with a bigger girl being the main lead and having those steamy scenes. Nicola is beautiful...

I don't understand why everyone is so surprised that she looks so young. The actress that plays Eloise is in her thirty's as well. There are many shows where the people playing the young people rolls are older than they look.

I’m actually glad that this was cleared up. If we got to season 3 and didn’t see Penelope’s body in the same way we saw Daphne and Kate, people would likely speculate that it was the choice of director/production. Then a whole army of people would be up in arms. As a big girl i would be giving Shonda the side eye. Rarely do we see steamy scenes that involve bigger bodies. However, I respect Nicola’s boundaries. It is her body after all. She has choices and she made one.

It's actually a great idea if they would give the audience access to the PG rated version. I don't mind spicy scenes but sometimes I do watch these shows with my parents or siblings, in those cases it would be great not to be forced to watch spicy scenes with them, because it IS awkward....

They have so much chemistry and friendship and it’s clear when they are on screen together! They are so comfortable together and that contributes to how well they play on screen!

So, let me see if I've understood this correctly. She will have access to a version of the show that doesn't have the sexy scenes. But us as audience, will have access to the sexy scenes. It's that it?

Nicola is sooo voluptuously beautiful likewise immensely talented. I admire her as Pen on the show. Just stunning work from her all around. It’s gonna be epic to see her as lead this season. To me she makes the show, the show it is! Watch the power that Pen brings this season. I have a feeling most of us will end this season with our mouths agape from the bevy of emotions Pen and Colin as actors in this storyline will make us all feel. I can’t wait!

I respect her for that and I do feel a PG13 version should be an option because steamy scenes are not for everyone. I always feel bad as a fan to want these scenes (which are rare for me to like) in a show when I know how awkward it is for actors to perform them. But am glad her and Luke are good friends and feel comfortable with each other.

Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Persuasion, Emma, North and South, etc… ALL had absolutely no nudity or sex scenes and are possibly the most Romanic movies of all time. This series could have been made like that to allow a broader audience. It’s a shame that producers think they need this kind of stuff to allow for a show to be good.

Totally get it! definitely don't want the fam seeing all that, it's a bit much. However i'm glad we still get to see the spicy scenes! 😉I'm so looking forward to Nicola and Luke performances!

It just takes Google to see her age ? She looks great for 38. I'm 31 and people always think I'm 21-25. Round cheeks and good skin goes a long way.

Nicola wanting to share her accomplishment with her family without it being incredibly awkward is completely understandable. Meanwhile, for typical audiences, not everything needs to be family-friendly. If you, a regular viewer, don't like a TV show to have lots of sex scenes, then simply don't watch it.

As someone in their mid 30s, I am always surprised when I get compliments on how good my skin is… It’s always surprising because it’s a simple regiment - moisturize, stay out of the sun, and no children to stress you out.

Well for a 37 years old grown up woman her parents should not decide what can be or can not be at all.

Lol we have an unspoken rule in my family. If we are watching a show as a family that has nudity everyone looks down and tries to ignore it til it’s over. (We are all adults at this point but still it’s weird when ur parents are next to you)

im actually so obsessed eith bridgerton and watch it all the time but i am forced to stop watching it when im eating or watching it around my family because of the spicy scenes. So I would very much like to have a PG13 version of Bridgerton to be on Netflix. Or at least one with the steamy scenes cut so that i dont have to skip through them or can watch out in the living room.

I did not think the love scene was PG at all given the facial expressions and gyrating going on!! It was still very steamy!!! One does not need to show a lot of skin for a love scene to still be passionate and intense. ❤

Explicit sex scenes aren't necessary to show love between characters. It's just that modern audiences expect soft porn in today's programmes.

nicola already cleared up herself that the pg version of the spicy scenes is NOT part of her contract. she thought she had made it part of the contract but it's not.

To be honest, the series has moved so far away from the books (doesnt bother me, i love both!) that I doubt many similar scenes will be there. Also, am I the only person who preferred fresh faced Colin to the chiselled version?

Nicola has already stated that the contract clause does not exist. She said she doesn’t know how she came to believe this was true. From interviews, she said they met after being cast in Bridgerton, not that they had known each other before. It’s just that preproduction for the first year was 5 years ago and she was the first person cast. She was only 32 when cast.

Not cast is legaly force to DO bed scenes even if the story has them...they are advisors or bed scenes couch who will find a mid ground to not step over actor/ess rights and still make the job. Erotic scenes or movie are difficult because sometimes what is writed is not able to come to image or a scene without compromising the safty (mental/body) healt. And this should be in any work.

A pg version would be a good idea for exactly that reason. And I totally understand where she is coming from. I hate watching scenes like that with family around. There could be one sex scene in a movie or series and my brother WILL walk in on that scene. Every single time. Probably thinks it's all I watch 🤦‍♀️ so, that is bad enough, but to have the steamy scene involve me??? No way. Just... No lol. I've been teased by my peers for being a prude forever, but I'm just private. All these people saying she shouldn't care what her parents think and that they shouldn't have a say in her life at her age... they are missing the point. She's old enough to know what she wants. She took the role knowing what was ahead, she just had the forethought to make sure she could watch it with her family without embarrassment. Good for her. I mean... would you want your whole family seeing you doing that? Even if it's just pretend? They had to apply butt makeup to the guy playing Anthony. That's how fearless they are in showing skin. Like very close up skin lol. There's probably some boob makeup going on there too. Come on. I know society is becoming more open about sex, and that's good. Medically it's actually considered an activity of daily living. That means it is considered something essential for life. But there is a line for some in who gets to see that side of them. And that is fine. Doesn't mean you're ashamed or living for your parents instead of yourself... it's just how you feel. People should be just as accepting about that as they are about everything else. Also, if it makes your family uncomfortable, then why put them through it when you found another way? That's just respect and common courtesy. Sadly, respect and decency towards fellow humans is something that is severely lacking these days. I'm glad she didn't get stranger things actually... the first time i saw pictures for bridgerton my first thought was that they chose Penelope perfectly. I was surprised by her age as well though. But cheeks help. I don't look my age either. Due to terrible acne i learned how to take care of my skin early on and i do think that has helped. I've been lax lately due to health issues and i see a difference in my aging process. I recently got told someone thought i was in my early 20s. Nope. 33, with a collagen disorder than can cause premature aging. (Another reason i stated anti-aging early) Start a good, well rounded skincare routine early on. In talking retinol products, acids, masking, vit c., products to increase healing rate, oil cleansing, double cleansing, etc. Cycle it so you can fit it all in. And research product ingredients so you get the most bang for your buck. Too many products are basically just water. I am also VERY pale, like Nicola, so I tend to stay out of the sun. I might be a jersey girl, but I don't feel the need to be tan. That has probably also helped. But a round face with some fat on it helps as well. My mom doesn't look her age either. Considering she was a sun worshiper, she REALLY should. It's baffling. But when she lost weight, she said the loss of face fat made a difference. Not in a good way. The she FINALLY started taking care of her skin. She was the type of person that got 1 pimple a month. I didn't get that skin, but I'm sure genetics play a role as well. At least I got her bone structure. Everyone seems to say that Eloise looks really young too, but look at her eyes. That's where it's showing on her, i think. Don't get me wrong, she still looks good, but i think if we're comparing the two, the actress playing Penelope looks better.

She is an actress. .She needs to be professional and do her job to the fullest. She knew what she was signing for as the books were evidence of the events in the story. Families shouldn't make work decisions in anyones careers. She is an adult, she knew better.
