@@loveking8618 I understand that. I don’t understand why somebody relates to being an engineer on a SPIRITUAL level. I know they are speaking hyperbolically but even then I don’t understand. Also did you put your comment in two languages? Kind of a flex there Love King I’m impressed
@@poop12348 I don’t understand what is so specifically relatable to this person about not being an engineer. Most people are not engineers…. So of course you relate? But on a SPIRITUAL level? It’s literally like saying you relate to breathing

As someone finishing up college here are my tips: - Always always ALWAYYYSSS take free food or clothes. Take every chance you can to eat and hydrate because the last thing you want is to end up in the emergency room for malnutrition. - Hoodies are your friend. I swear to you no one is going to be paying attention to your outfit and hoodies are just so easy to manage. If you wanna spend the time to look really nice for yourself that’s fine, but I really wouldn’t sweat it. - Make friends! I know it’s really hard to for some people but just talk to the people around you. Even if you only make one friend, you never know if you’re going to be in an emergency and need someone close by to help. - Shower when the opportunity presents itself. Sometimes you’ll be so busy or just genuinely forget. - Set reminders for your homework and don’t set up unattainable goals! If you’re a person who’s just always late and are stressing yourself over perfect attendance, let go. It’s better to pass college without that perfect attendance with a healthy mindset than break yourself over that goal. - It’s ok to party, but don’t do it all the time. You’re gonna be VERY busy normally and you also just need time for yourself. - Literally do NOT care about popularity. If you try to make yourself a drama queen or something you’re going to get a HARSH reality check. High school is over, time to grow up. - If you are working in a group and having problems getting the work done, COMMUNICATE THAT. It’s ok if you are struggling to get your own work done that affects your own grades, but when other people are involved, have the decency to put in effort. - Go to therapy or get a counselor if you feel like you need it. Your mental health is important and NOTHING is worth going into a depressive spiral for, not even your degree. It’s ok if you want to change that or even change schools. What matters is that YOU are happy with your degree and future career. If you see yourself being happy doing what you’re studying, go for it! If you wake up every day dreading class and not really ambitious about your future, maybe it’s time for a change! You’ll put in effort in things that you love. - I cannot emphasize this more, EAT. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD FEED YOURSELF. Eating one granola bar or yogurt for the whole day is NOT feeding yourself. Eat at LEAST one FULL meal. It’s very easy to get into the pitfall of ‘oh this is great, if I don’t eat I have more time and I’m losing weight in the process!’ NO. That’s NOT what’s going to happen. You’re going to RUIN your body that way physically and mentally. Once again, the last thing you need is a hospital trip in an expensive ambulance! And it’s OK if you gain weight during your time! It’s better to eat whatever you can eat to be ALIVE in college than graduate with a whole slew of health problems because you didn’t take care of your body! - This is a very easy trap to fall into, but do NOT get into the pitfall that is drugs, cigarettes, and alcohol. Just DON’T DO IT. It is NOT worth your life, your relationships, your career, or anything else! Maybe a drink here or there is fine (OF LEGAL AGE) and say you smoke something once or twice (A LEGAL SUBSTANCE) that’s eh, but just avoid it if at all possible. Seriously. Lastly, please don’t be afraid to ask for help. No one gets adulting right for at least a good couple years, if there’s even a right way to do it. College can actually be a really fun and amazing time for you. Keep your chin up. C:
I absolutely love u for this! Gonna be out of high school soon and i want to pursue a medical career but goddammit shit takes effort. I'll definitely keep all this in mind!

Some tips from someone who has graduated! ❤️ For ANY class, unless you have assigned seating, sit at the front. You'll be a lot less distracted and will see the board easier (even if it's a projector). If your classes aren't back to back, try to get to class 5-10 minutes earlier to set up your stuff, grab a seat, use the bathroom, etc. Also helps you establish yourself as a "serious" student. Buy bulk food and prepare your own meals! College cafeteria food can get EXPENSIVE so save money where you can (this is more for if you live in dorms/on your own)! Bring clothes that are interchangeable and that can be easily layered so you can do laundry less frequently and have outfits for different seasons. Air your clothes out when you get home/back to the dorm so you can wear them for multiple days (use dryer sheets for smelly shoes)! Always carry a large notebook even if you have a tablet/laptop in case they die/get left behind (this should be a given, but mechanical pencils, erasers, and ballpoint pens are a must as well). MAKE FRIENDS OUTSIDE OF YOUR CLASSES! Don't stick with the same people, connections are EVERYTHING when you graduate!!! Go to your common area (resting/study/cafeteria area) and find people who have similar interests. MANAGE YOUR WORK/PERSONAL LIFE WISELY. KEEP A SCHEDULE.
well, everything was perfectly fine until the last paragraphs. like girl, "connection" is nothing if you don't study. Plus i noticed that only americans have some kind of obsession about making "friends and connections".
I mean, my campus is decently small, but I have made dozens of buddies there and I've learned how to naturally socialize. I think high schoolers need to experience a realistic educational/living environment for adults rather than 14-18yr olds. it's veeeeeery different. bills, homework, chores, hygiene, food, and so much more are their responsibility now, so I understand wanting someone that can support you and help to make things normal and easy. I'm more grateful for my roommate than I've ever been, and I'm so glad where I landed. relationships are important man.
'first world problem' is the dumbest thing ever. literally 90% of what people in the global North care about is a first world problem but that doesn't make it any less valid.
Tips from a recent college graduate! - dress comfortably. By the 2nd month or semester pretty much everyone is in their laziest clothes. - if you can go first or very early in anything spoken or presented you're better off. You can get it over with. You set the standard plus people won't remember it as much by the end. For small things like introductions, it relieves stress from your professor and looks like you care about the class. It also motivates other students to go more comfortably! - always bring your backups/alternatives. Umbrellas, water, a pen and notebook. I can't emphasize how many of my lecture halls or classrooms didn't have out let's for students to use easily. (My campus is pretty old so that's part of it). - Communication with professors and TAs (and any other staff that are relevant resources like the office you can get accommodations from) is paramount to a smoother learning experience. - remind yourself that everyone else is more focused on themselves than they are on you. It has helped me get over alot of my own issues with confidence and overthinging what to do. This short was interesting to see what impacted other people that I wouldn't have noticed or encountered because of my interests and that I started college in 2017/2018.

Loved uni just because I could be myself not give a toss about what anyone thought of me, as well as how much easier it was taking courses I was interested in. I made friends, just a few. And that was more than enough.
even with the little things that went wrong, it looks like it was a fun day! And that acai bowl looked really good. The computer not charging sucks tho oof.

For some reason, this girl is making the whole college thing sound exciting and fun. I am deeply scared of college since it's something totally new and different-
My first day of college, I didn't know we don't get the traditional lunch period like in high school, so I just sat around all day wondering when was lunch period. Then me and two other girls decided to skip class to grab something to eat. 8 years later, we're still best friends.
i go to a military college. my first day was waking up at 4 am for a 3 mile run while getting yelled at. then nothing but pt and getting yelled at.we didn’t get back to our barracks (we don’t get dorms) until 1 the next morning. made some life long friends though.
I lowkey miss this, but I don't plan on starting over. Undergrad is definitely a unique time of your life. One advice: experience it, take it (almost) all in. No one cares about what grades you graduated with after you get your degree. Don't kill yourself over classes, but also give a damn about them.
@@SarahDenna thanks for that. I'm not personally looking to continue (at least not now). I'm definitely gonna be fine if I choose to pursue it, but in my day to day it hasn't mattered. It's just my experience and some things students encounter- I wish I lived a little.
If you have a plan (i.e., you know what your future career is and have a plan to achieve it) do it. If you don't (i.e., you're only going to uni for social aspect), don't. There are better and way cheaper alternatives to get yourself socially active. Uni is really for people that want to get degrees and a white collar career.
I absolutely love walking in the rain, which is pretty funny considering the fact that I have major storm anxiety on occasion, it tends to come and go apparently. The rain is super refreshing and the crack of lightning and thunder adds some thrill to the calming weather, keeping it from getting boring.
Things not to do -walk to class -wear jeans -sit in the back -think your computer is charging -get food in your system -change your outfit -see snacks or booths? -head to your next class -go into project management -find t-shirts especially for engineers -get photos -let it rain -let people walk in peace instead of recording then and going "you don't have to be like him, you could be like her" as you point the camera at an umbrella instead of a person.
