Dogs are often overly excited right before a walk. If we let them dash through the door immediately, we keep their energy level high. By asking them to sit and wait before going outside, we can:
- Help calm their mind a little
- Encourage them to focus on us
- Ensure a calm exit, reducing the risk of being pulled
- Check for any immediate distractions that might catch their attention
This approach sets a positive tone for the walk and helps create a more enjoyable experience for both you and your dog.
