Welcome to your new obsession You don’t realize how much you need this band, until you listen to them, they are the best right now and they always get you smiling 🤘🏻 Their music is very serious, amazing musicians but their videos are HYSTERICAL 🤣🤣
Babymetal are incredible, after Ratatata try Megitsune or Headbnger live at Legend 1997. Live Babymetal is the best Babymetal, their live performances are much better than the official tracks. Every song is different, they cover all the metal genres and then some.
Hahahaha! It's contagious and annoyingly catchy. Yet brilliantly wonderful and joyous. I just thought it was fabulously sick, and sensational. I could go on and on. But I won't. I'll save that for EC video #2 😺
This came out in the middle of the 2020 pandemic lockdown and was one of those songs that got me through it. It was also the song that put Electric Callboy (then Eskimo Callboy) on the map and certainly on the reaction channel RU-vid map.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Electric Callboy! I can recommend literally every song they made but especially since the past 3 years when their new singer Nico joined them. They are all amazing and very unique while mixing genres in an amazing way. Combined with very fun and well made music videos they are simply great to enjoy. But here is a list to start with for a simplified overview, upper ones maybe even more recommended to start with..! - We got the Moves - Pump it - Spaceman - Techno Train - Hurrikan (don't confuse it with their song Hurricane please) - Hate/Love - Every time we Touch - Ratatata (cooperation with Babymetal) - Fuckboi - Arrow of Love - Parasite - Mindreader - MC Thunder 1 & 2
You just showed up in my recommended, got an instant sub from me. Enjoy the tumble into the Electric Callboy rabbit hole, there is A LOT to discover and it's all BRILLIANT.
Wow! Are you telling me the RU-vid algorithm sometimes works? 😜 I can't bloody wait for the next EC track. Hope you stick along for the ride as this is gonna be amazeballs!
Yep , you found something just a little bit different. LOL. Told ya , you would love this. 😁 A$$h*le?!... I resemble that remark. 😝 Considered electronicore (EDM crossed with metalcore), a lot of fans just call it Partycore! Formed in 2010 as Eskimo Callboy. they changed the name 2 years ago, after finding out that the word 'eskimo' can be offensive to some native North Americans. Nico (clean vocals) joined in 2020, this was the first release with him, and when the band's popularity took off. Kevin on harsh. Pascal Schillo (rhythm guitar) and his brother produce the videos. David (drums) is always fun to watch. Daniel K on bass, Daniel H on lead guitar. This song is on the EP, MMXX. 9 of the 10 songs on the following 'Tekkno" album have videos. Suggest "We Got the Moves" and "Pump It" from that record next.
I'm just back from Graspop and these guys went down a storm. I have bruises and a footprint on my forehead. Also saw Brutus after your recommendation. I really enjoyed them too and much less injuries.
@@melvinthinks I immediately checked to see if you had watched another video. I love the band and for some reason it makes me so happy to see how people react to it. What's really sweet is that the band loves it too. It would be so cool if you could see the band's reaction to reactions in the Ratatata reaction after the video. That's so great. The genuine joy in their faces and a little bit of background story. It might be a bit long though...
Love your reaction! ❤️😃 I'm a great EC fan and it's always fun to see someone react to this one not knowing anything about them 😄 You just have to go down the rabbithole now 😉🤘 If you get the chance to see them live, take it! They rock 🤘
great reaction. Always a pleasure to find new Electric Callboy reactors, you are one of the relatively rare ones who recognize exactly what the vibe is here and yes, why do people have to overanalyze everything? Fun is fun, it's as simple as that. I hope you consider reacting to more Electric Callboy songs. 😄🙃 But...I made it my little 'mission' (as far as YT will let me anyways) to ease new reactors into the lore of EC a bit. So, if you want to take a look at what EC have done so far, you will have to catch up to 14 years of band history. If you want a short synopsis of their career, here are some of the bullet points (centering more around the bands background): [‼Attention: Wall of text/Info dump ahead‼] 💖The band was founded in 2010 as Eskimo Callboy by six guys from Castrop-Rauxel a former coal mining city in the eastern part of the Ruhr Area within the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany 💙Name change in 2022 to Electric Callboy - they explain the reasons in three videos on their RU-vid page. 💛In 2020 their singer Sebastian 'Sushi' Biesler left the band to found his new project 'Ghostkid' and was replaced by Nico Sallach a longtime friend of the band whose own Band (To The Rats And Wolfs) was newly disbanded at the time. 💜The introduction single for Nico 'Hypa Hypa' was also the international breakthrough for the band. Since then they had headline tours in Europe, USA (sold out) and Australia (sold out). Electric Callboy in its current manifestation is an absolute LIVE-Band! They truly shine on the stage - give it a try and watch a live concert. Like this one from 2022, they played in a relatively small venue, a mix of old (Sushi) and new (Nico) Songs: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5BPCHuHZuqc.html Live footage of Sushi-era EC is way rarer, because… well, let's put it diplomatically: sometimes his signature intensity was a bit much and tampered with the live quality. ❤They never stuck to one genre and were counted as Metalcore, Trancecore, Post-Hardcore, Electronic Rock… and recently the internet dubbed them Partycore. They combine metal/metalcore with influences from EDM/Techno, Pop and frankly nearly every imaginable genre of music. The general sound changed somewhat with the joining of Nico, as his clean rock, almost pop-sounding voice is distinctly different to Sushi's emo/punk-rock voice. With Sushi EC sounded rougher and a little harder in general, but I think this sound isn't lost. If you listen to the new songs in a live setting, it will be evident that even the songs of Tekkno sound way harder if the guys play them live on stage - prime example would be Spaceman. The guys always said they would make music which suites their personal mood at the time of writing and since 2020 and the pandemic and all the restriction that came with it, they made mainly fun/comedic music as a kind of therapy for them and their audience. Nevertheless, their catalog includes some really divers sounds; the funny ones are easy to find and most commenters or a quick YT search will suggest them anyways, so I will list some of the more serious songs for you in no particular, definitely not complete order: 🔹My Own Summer 🔹Best Day ft. Sido 🔹Back in the Bizz 🔹Crystals (the only Song I really like better with Sushi's Voice) 🔹Rehab 🔹VIP 🔹The Scene ft. Fronz 🔹Shallows (also a good Sushi-Song) 🔹Supernova 🔹Made by America 🔹Hate/Love 🔹Prism 🔹Mindreader 🔹Parasite 🔹Neon Generally speaking, you can't go wrong with any EC song, there are very few that aren’t killer and non that are bad. Tank is a professional roadie, who turned reactor during the pandemic. He contacted the band for some interviews and they became friends, it grew to the point that he was their tour manager on the North America tour last year and since this year is their assistant TM globally… 🚩 Links to a host of EC-related RU-vid videos can be found on my channel, there are some playlists which will shorten the search (hopefully).
There are several versions of Hypa Hypa out there from other bands whom EC are friends with. EC asked them, if they would like to create Hypa Hypa in their own style and that leads to some excellent versions of that song. You should really try Saltatio Mortis and WBTBWB (We butter the bread with butter) versions.
I’m here for the Callboy!! I’m not cool, I’m 60+ but I stopped counting how many times I watched this the first day. This is perfect 70s 80s, just perfect! The details that had me laugh crying. The dance mot! I’m subbed now 🎉
Don't worry, I'm not cool either. Being cool, in itself, is uncool though, isn't it? I don't know. I'm uncool. But does that make me and you cool then? I'm lost.
Hahaha, a very 2020-ish reaction when that song came out. Nowadays the reactions to Electric Callboy are a little bit different because EC is more known as in 2020. Another good recommendation for EC is "We got the moves" and later of course "Ratatata" with Baby Metal.
I'll accept compliments like this every day of the week, even though me and you are taking the piss 😁 Cheers for the sub, Dan, and welcome to the funhouse 👍
Founded in 2010 (as Eskimo Callboy) they were a more or less standard metalcore band, always with a mostly humorous attempt though. Early in 2020, original lead singer Sushi left to found a new project (Ghostkid). They casted Nico as the new clean singer and decided to introduce him to fans with a no holds barred - all in - over the top song and video, which was Hypa Hypa (mission accomplished I guess). The rest is partycore history. While most of their material since is uplifting electronicore like Hypa Hypa, they do have some more serious songs too (Hate/Love, MIndreader, Parasite). The dance crew at the end is a bunch of befriended gamers/ streamers/ youtubers. If you dive deeper into EC, you might see one or two of them again sooner or later ;)
Electric callboy are so funny both as a band and individuals. The two singers (nico and Kevin) are actually really good singers. Check out their other stuff and their “making off”videos. The whole band are hilarious and very talented.
It will happen, Rob. Just like night turns to day. And like England will play shit on Saturday against Switzerland but probably still scrape through to the semi finals.
Electric Callboy is not anymore a Band. Its a Relgion. One of the good Sort. They bring Love, Joy and Happyness to the World. Oh. I believe my Pills start to Work....
Welcome to the Party-Core brother !!! YES, Electric Callboy X Baby Metal song is a must. BEST Song for summer, or any summer in that matter !!! PERIOD !!!! NWSU/FloorFan/Epican/Ayreonaut/TWA 🤘😎🤘.
The theme melody is is from a 90's/ 00's German techno band (Kind of). It is from the song Scooter - Maria i like it loud. Which is a remake of a Marc Acardipane song, but the scooter version was what was popular.
DOOOOOOODDD! Babymetal is AMAZING!!!! Fuck the snipits. If you like EC, you will LOVE them. Headbanger Karate Kingslayer (live in Tokyo) Road of Resistance should get you started
Electric Callboy are the most entertaining band in the world right now, not put out a bad song in last 3 years and live shows just a massive rave of metal & EDM riffs that fill audiences with a euphoria 😄🤘
Ooooooo boy. Electric Callboy is a trip and a half. Now that you’ve seen the original Hypa Hypa and loved it, I have FANTASTIC news for you. They did a whole string of collaborations with other artists doing their own, separate versions of Hypa Hypa. The WBTBWB (We Butter the Bread with Butter) version is required viewing!!! It’s my favorite version and is even more bonkers than the original. Speaking of which, if you haven’t experienced any We Butter The Bread With Butter yet, you gotta get on them asap! They’re like EC’s weirdo cousin. They’re funny, silly, but way heavier and WAYYY weirder. Peak electro-deathcore. Tracks of theirs to peep: -Hypa Hypa cover -20 kph -Dreh auf! Loving your reactions, Cheers!
@@melvinthinks in the Partycore club we don't drink coffee, we just turn Electric Callboy to 11. Ok so since We Got The Moves is next you should make it a try not to laugh challenge. Shouldn't be hard you barely even smirked in that one. 🤣
@@melvinthinks made the right decision not doing their collaboration with Baby Metal first. Electric Callboy requires more context than Baby Metal does. I will say Baby Metal isn't something I would add to my playlist. I'd see them live but not something I'd listen to on purpose. With the Electric Callboy electronics metal infusion they should consider doing that full time. After We Got The Moves and Tekkno Train you can continue the EC arc however you wish. There are reaction channels that had a dedicated day for metal, that turned into Electric Callboy day 🤣
No, there is a lot to watch before the babymetal colab. "We got the moves" next, Pump it, Everytime we touch, then go back and watch some older ones, MC Thunder and MC Thunder II as a double play. Enjoy the ride. Oh and then you'll have to go down the 8 covers of Hypa Hypa rabbit hole.
Yeah, check out the collab with BABYMETAL. It is fantastic. BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy both occupy this kind of strange space in the metal scene. They mash up genres that probably shouldn't go together but turn out to be genius.
Nothing wrong with mashups imo. Especially in metal. There are so many subgenres in metal (I think too many) that whatever mashup will fit in somewhere! 😁
Check out "Babymetal - Monochrome Live at PIA Arena" first before you check out RATATATA. Then you have a better idea of both bands. Babymetal and Electric Callboy are both amazing bands
"We Got The Moves" will definitely be my next one, but you never know what's around the corner Ann-Marie 😀 That's why you have to keep coming back to the channel 😉
So now you have the SEVEN covers of Hypa Hypa to go! with Saltatio Mortis for those bagpipes and hurdy-gurdy sound The BossHoss for that country sound We Butter The Bread With Butter for that comedy Deathcore Sasha for a classic pop song on a roller rink and the Axel One version that is weird and hilarious at the same time
@@melvinthinks It would be intriguing but this is Axel One more known as a bass player in WBTBWB. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b-DWvIioy8I.html It is uncategorisably funny and weird.

Einer von Uns! Einer von Uns! I will spare you this time with a long a$s comment but totally loved your Reaction Mate, really. And from now on, it only gets better. You can basically check out every release since hyper hyper. Only exception: check out MC Thunder before MC Thunder 2 (MC Thunder is with the old singer). But these guys NEVER fail to amaze! They are so creatice with their music and videos. On of my favourite Songs is actually F*ckboi. That one came completley unexpected back in the days but brought back so many good memories of my youth Edit: the order of how the videos were released Hate/Love MC Thunder II We got the moves Pump it Spaceman Fuckboi Hurrikan Arrow of Love Mindreader Tekkno Train Everytime we Touch ("Cascada" Cover) Ratatata Of course you didn't need to stick to this order, its just fyi. Most people checked out We got the Moves after Hyper Hyper
Cheers buddy. Hope the reaction did you proud as you were one of the bullies I referenced 😜 Definitely "We Got The Moves" next. I just need to lock myself in my spare room, turn on the camera, and let whatever happens, happen. And I can't frigging wait!
@@melvinthinks For sure it did me proud. Me an many others. I mean 14k Views in what, 3 days? You did amazing! I am glad to be one of the bully boys in this case 😂 And I can't wait for 'We got the Moves'. Or any other EC Reaction. They all are going to be Crazy with a Capital C!
Cheers bud 😚 Genuinely BIG thanks for flagging this band and introducing them to me. You were one of, if not, the first to comment upon them. And then there was a domino effect! It's so cool and inspiring when stuff like this happens. If I'm ever in Germany, I owe you a beer or two!
@@melvinthinks haha, yes, we EC fans are like herpes. Once we show up, we are everywhere 😂 if you are ever near Heilbronn in Germany, let me know. I would love to have a beer with you 🤘
You are going to be mentally addicted to Electric callboy Hurrikan is a song I haven't seen recommended here. Only two minutes long and... well you'll find out what happens if you react to it.
Love a first time reaction to these guys, they're so good. Babymetal I had the same reaction at first, but Babymetal is goddamn genius. Their absolute command is unmatched. I'm subbing to see EC and Babymetal reactions, love when it clicks. That said, everybody likes what they like, and I for instance can't stand Lovebites.
I really liked you. And then you said this about Lovebites 😫😭 Only kidding. The pressure is building on me to eventually cave in and do a Babymetal reaction. Even more so since I've just released this EC video. I'm gonna have to do something before I hear the EC/Babymetal collab, I guess.
They got a bunch of artists to do covers of this song.. you need to check out the ones by WBOBWB and Saltatio Mortis for a completely different kind of crazy. The Babymetal collab is probably the collab of the century
Hahaha! I get loads of recommendations but when the same band keeps popping up by lots of different people, via multiple videos (regardless of genre) then you know something is buzzing. And then when the viewers start replying to one another (like I'm not there or can't see) and talking about a band amongst themselves which they think I'd love, then it can sway me.
A few people have recommended Hurrikan. But I've been given an almost military structured guide of what I MUST do next. But Hurrikan will happen. Trust me.
Been a fan of EC for over a year now ever since a buddy showed me them. Saw them live this past May and they put on a heck of a show. For them France has already given you a good amount of suggestions and order to do them in. Similar with you on Babymetal, had only heard small bits but never really gave them a listen till after Ratatata, now have tickets to see them in Nov as well, would go so far to say they're now my second favorite band. If you decide to do some Babymetal, I would suggest you do one of the following first. Karate (Either official MV or live at Budokan 2021) Monochrome (Live at PIA Arena 2023 or Piano vers. on The First Take) Road of Resistance - Live in Japan
Cheers dude! BabyMetal are a band I hear snippets of and just turn off. Admittedly, I haven't given them a proper analytical listen so perhaps now is the time. To me, I find it hard to see past the whole manufactured J-pop, dancing to metal music. I get why people love it, but if I do a reaction I'll probably enrage their fans due to my honesty! lol
@@melvinthinks From watching a bunch of reactions to them, the one thing that tends to stick out about the fan base (The One) is they’re considered some of the nicest fans. Everyone has stuff that works for them and stuff that don’t. If you end up not liking it, as long as you’re genuine and give them an actual shot, don’t think you’ll really anger many.
I did respond to this and not sure why it disappeared? Hmmm... Anyway, what I originally said was that this was reassuring to know and perhaps the Polyphia fans could take a leaf out of the Babymetal fans book 🤣 I wasn't even horrible or mean in the Polyphia reaction I did and it didn't go down very well! lol
This is the song that got me into Electric Callboy, you should try their MC HUNDER 1 and 2! Your not a huge fan of BABYMETAL; yet. Do BABYMETAL's MONOCHROME, Live at PIA Arena and get back to us.
I might put out a community post/poll and see what everyone thinks I should listen to as a first BabyMetal reaction? I've had quite a few different recommendations for this band.
Keep it moving with EC! If you want to get into some crazy japanese punk, checkout Otoboke Beaver, "Don't start my fire".❤ And really babymetal is surprisingly versitile, definitely need to checkout 3 or 4 of thier songs. Personally, I recommend putting "babymetal death legend 1997", and a live ver of "bxmxc" in that list ❤
@@melvinthinks Understandable. When they first got big, with gimme chocolate, I thought, inteteresting quirky japanese gimmick band. A couple of years ago a listened to a few more songs, and was surprised by thier depth. As someone who has an eclectic taste in music, they are great. (btw, not a metal or idol fan. More of a punk fan. Checkout Otoboke Beaver 😅❤️)

They even react to reactors reacting! There are a lot of visual jokes in EC videos. There is a story about the Eurovision Song contest. After listening to those classics, you'll likely agree, EC would be an extremely strong competitor in Eurovision (easy top 5, likely winner). However, the story is Germany's Eurovision broadcaster turned down EC's song because they claimed it wasn't 'radio friendly'. Further, it's claimed Germany don't want to win because they'd have to stage the Eurovision song contest the following year, and that is an expensive loss. Hello again and thanks for this 👍 That's what I really liked about Hypa Hypa and EC as a band. They don't take themselves seriously, but they probably should, because on the basis of this track they right great music! I truly loved it.
@@melvinthinks Thank you for replying. EC are unusually competent musicians and songwriters to start with. Their songs are extremely 'catchy'. Then being so witty, and 'slap stick' silly is remarkable. 😂 I hope they do enter Eurovision and win. They are the ultimate 'good time' band every Eurovision country deserves to know. The 3 EC songs I posted demonstrate their commitment to the visual joke, without sacrificing the song. Their live-show videos are amazing. Watch the 'break down' in "We've got the Moves", then watch a live performance. I suspect you'll become enough of a fan, to go see them live. While you're quite young, I think you'll get some of the 'Easter Eggs' in the Dirty Loops video. It bears watching a couple of times. If you react people will likely write "splits" a lot.
