That axe chop made me jump out of my seat! lol If you've not done it already, can you sometime show your favorite ladders for outdoor painting: how many ladders, what to look for, etc. Thanks, John!

That's a good idea, I'll do a video on ladders. I do have some info on my website (www.howtopaintahouseright.com/exterior-painting-store-3) where I link to the four ladders I recommend for exterior jobs (24-foot and 20-foot extension ladders, and 6-foot and 8-foot step ladders). Those four ladders are a good all around selection, although for interior you are not likely to need a 24-foot ladder. Also, I have a video on safely using extension ladders (Safely Using an Extension Ladder). Note the part in the video about leg-levelers. They are very helpful when using extension ladders to paint exteriors. Thanks for commenting.

I buy higher quality brushes, but the bristles tend to clump up in groups. This makes it hard to do a nice job on trim work. IS there a way to prevent that? Or a specific brush that doesn't do it?

+Kauwhaka I use a "brush comb" to comb out the bristles after washing the brush...this really helps prevent clumping.
@rushmoorpaintinganddecorat1493
Also applying a paint conditioner luke foetrol helps keep the bristles moist for a good few hours. Assuming are using the brush with water based paints. It also helps reduce cleaning times as well

You're wasting your life on that floppity floppy Purdy. Purdy's are absolute trash. Use Wooster Golden Edge or Rembrandts it's like painting with a giant paint marker. The difference will shock you. Even Purdy's Stiff brushes are engineered like garbage.
