Damn, first time my Asian parents clapped for my music was after I performed the Bach Partitas for a recital. They gave me 4 calculated claps, that shit was stone cold. I think they are the sole reason I raised my daughter up with everything she could need or want but it seems like she didn't need to be deprived of a childhood to get into an ivy after all. I'm proud that she is keeping that family tradition alive by getting into my graduate alma mater, Johns Hopkins for her biomedical genomic engineering PhD but even more happy that she made the choice on her own without being forced to live by brutal standards. She loves her work and that is what matters.

Idk, what it is about violins, cellos, or other "classical" stringed instruments, but I just love to hear relatively modern songs played on stereotypically classical instruments. There's just something about the range of sounds that skilled players can make with them that I find really enjoyable.

I felt this video in my soul. I've been playing the violin for the past 10 years and it's sort of expected from people that have never touched an instrument for me to sound like I've been playing for 10 years. I did stop playing for a year because of how busy I've been, but recently I've gotten back into playing. I remembered how annoying it was to tune as well as trying to remember my wrist placement.
