I was born in 87, used to have monthly flying lessons from 1999-2003, Of course as I was only 12 when MSFS2000 was released I loved watching your videos along side Rod's, plus I had some info about King schools but as it was FAA I never bought any of your textbooks. You're a remarkable couple. Despite the fact that I learnt a few years later that my eyesight is too poor to go to ATPL and my parents became bankrupt a few years after this news anyway, you have both been the constant source of aviation for me. It's so good to see you are both well, especially after COVID.
I received my ppl @ scare me academy in Oakland, cal in'73...and the check airman used to be a mortician! Use a c 150'69 version...the next 20 yes brought flight in everything in the piper Cessna field including twins...fun for me...
I can recall as young boy growing up seeing John and Martha's advertisements for King Schools on television and also in magazines. Even from a young age I knew I would be a pilot someday. I never thought that I would have been a product of King Schools but low and behold here I sit as living proof to what John and Martha did for me and countless others that dreamed of earning their wings. There is something special about the Kings. They both have the most calming, reassuring, and compassionate voices you will ever listen to. There is no doubt that they are doing what the good Lord sent them here to do. They are a shining example of what it means to be an aviator. They are also a fine example of what it means to get married and stay married as you can truly sense the love they have for one another. My only hope is that I could one day introduce myself to them and tell them thank you for all that they did to help me on my path to becoming a professional pilot. May God continue to protect and Bless the Kings in all that they do. They are national treasure's without a doubt!
My primary flight training took place over several years due to I living on an island out in the Atlantic Ocean, no flt training exists. The Unitèd States being the closest. As to what airplane did I learn in,there were sereval I learned in. My flrst flight wad in a Piper 140 Cherokee. Others, Piper Tomahaek Cessna 152 Cessna C172 My official solo, flew a C172. My FAA pilot license check fly I flew a C152. The bulk of my training flight hours was in a C152, that was mainly due to a/cft rental pricing. My training was part 61, 100 hrs, which ranged from Long Island to Florida,with Maryland and Georgia in between. Those were the good old days prior to Sept. 11. 2001.
