Why not use a layer of sand or soil for the aviary’s bottom since you have a thick wood to stop it from getting out, that would not only conceal the birds waste, but also stop them from eating it because it’ll be covered in sand or soil. It’s a win win case.
They might seem loud on the spot but living right next to it you will barely hear anything at all, because aviary birds sound will be drown out by wild birds and other sounds.
Don’t the canaries strip the plants bare. It happened to some trees I had in my cage and they ended up killing them. Even when I was giving them extra greens
