I love you guy! And I adore how Bonita uses every occasion to teach 'Llula new things and to test the knowledge she already has. "It's a peacock!" "Yeah, what color?" She's a SuPeR Mom! Safe travels. ❤
Landlubbers! Good luck with all the work it will be super satisfying to see the results when she can really show us how fast she can go in the big blue. DO NOT FORGET, a big silver coin under the mast, a 50c or a dollar if you can find one. I hope you're not too far ahead and you've already done that bit. When you leave terra firma, chuck some flowers over the side and you will return safely. God's speed frothers, can't wait to see her flying. ⛵️💨
And the work commences! It will be so worth it though as all you do is making for a fast, efficient and safe passage to Africa and beyond! I have always admired the teamwork between you both but you have to admit that Tallulas supervision adds something special! Ha! Yardwork starts!😁👍❤️❤️
Hard to believe you are at 352 episodes. Every sailing channel has their own special reasons. Yours... Josh, Bonita and Lula! Oh! And Marley! I love you guys. Keep going!
Well done Bonita and Yosh, you’ve come along way since those Whitsunday Days.. this boat is very comfortable and capable, now all your hard work is paying off, you will feel relieved knowing your rigging and mast is standing strong before your next big adventure.. 🤟🏽🌺
I rethreaded a line in my boom by tying a piece of magnetic metal, a key, onto a mousing line, placing it inside the boom and then using a magnet on the outside to run it the length of the boom.
Hello Legends!!!! Catching up on my back episodes of ole Nandji to and enjoyed the set up for the refit. Another great video and thanks for sharing! Yew!
Fantastic job guys, both with the prep and then with getting into position for the haul out!! Much work still ahead, but you have got this! Looking forward to the next phase. Stay well and best wishes!
Great video and really enjoyed the prep taking sails down and getting Nanji2 ready for haul out. Marina boat yard looks very clean well kept. Hope the work needed to be done goes well. Looking forward to next video
Use a pressure washer to unstiffen the lines. We used to do this once a year. You may want to consider the use of tubing in the mats to reduce the clanging. We used foam but it was damaged when we got hit by lightning. Mind you, it made for a nice big mushroom cloud out the to of the mast.
Josh, when coiling up braided line your palms should always face the same direction. Your coils will form a figure 8….not a circle. When you uncoil your sheets no twists should appear.
At 3:55 in this video it clearly shows the stitching for the UV strip on your staysail (possibly genoa as well) has worn out. Best to get that done before you cross the windy Indian Ocean. Try and get it resewn with Tenara thread.
I agree!! After The video was uploaded i found a missing folder with footage of Marley boosting along the beach on his morning run! Will have to put it in somewhere.. it’s pretty epic! 😆
Big job ahead but you are well prepared & informed what’s next, only not a fan of storing your spinnaker boom vertical on the mast . Anyway best wishes on your future projects etc. Cdn. Dave
Measure your standing rigging before you pull the mast while it's under tension for a good idea of what the #'s are. Observe how open/closed your turnbuckles are to tweak the measurements.
Bow thruster... How about a decent electric outboard and a bracket to mount it on the bow as needed? Backup for your outboard too? Don't know your budget but you might find a suitable one.
Too bad you couldn't find a fresh water creek close by so you could throw your sheets into and leave for a few days and see if that would soften them up.
