SD training isn't all perfection and positive rainbows! It's setting your dog up for failure sometimes so they can succeed! This channel isn't afraid to show mistakes. #servicedogs #servicedogteam
@LivinglyVivid I did NOT mean to remove your comment, so I hope you can still get this 😭 I'm glad that you have run into this channel. Repetitive, consistent training tends to be what service dog training is and it's definitely not something I'd say a lot of people realize is as much work as it is. I'm glad you're getting your SD! It's one hell of a journey, but worth it if you're willing to take the necessary precautions to ensure you and your companion are happy 💕
@prunabluepepper He's desensitized to both of them! We live in Arkansas currently, and the weather is all over the place at times, and so when the temperatures get too cold or too hot, Boston wears boots! His goggles however, protect his eyes. He has quite a few guiding tasks, and people have hit him in the face before. With carts, bags and items. Generally people don't watch where they're going and he's gotten a cut next to his eye before. So we wear goggles to keep him safe! They also work as sunglasses, so if he's ever guiding me outside he won't get distracted by the sun.
@Bostonthewagginghero yes, I've hears of stories exactly like this where sds working in busy crowded places get eye injuries, people are in a rush in places like the grocery most the time, and especially since my sd is so small, I ALWAYS have goggles on him when we're inside busy or crowded spaces. He's been ran into a few times, although not hurt at all by it, I still don't risk having no goggles on now lol
