The ending just didn't work for me. It left too many holes from a logical standpoint. First, by bringing back the head, it removed the myth into fact... a fact passed down, with evidence and yet, nobody in later era's even knew about predators? It would have made more sense for the predator to have fallen back into the mud pit and be swallowed up, no evidence. Second, by having the end as stated, the girl would know, and the tribe could have just been happy to have her back safe. The whole war chief thing at the end was a bit much... just my opinion. Still a good movie. When you have only have a few things you can point to in a movie, the writing is pretty solid.... unlike that OTHER movie coughThePredatorcough...
@@AlanBabycreations True they most likely recover the body and took the weapon too or the ship leader reward the girl with an exchange gift some sort like weapon for an extending spear, like AVP ending
@@AlanBabycreations This soo much. If you've seen the "end credits" there are way less unanswered questions then at first appears. The gun and evidence head questions get solved in just a single drawing. Clearly @looper missed that:)
it was a good and bad comic relief moment in the movie, there arnt really any times i can think of where the movie was "funny" per say or had comedy put into it, so while it was a good moment it was a little out of place imo, the movie was still awesome tho
I remembered see that trailer and being like ‘YEEESSS 👏👏👏’ then I forgot when the movie was coming out - so what streaming platform is this on? Seems ridiculous that the 6 platforms I do have aren’t enough.
@@potatoboi8081 was to remember the technological difference, plus accurate, and how the french heavily were relaying in tho them. to the point they create that awkward moment.
you totally missed the pictograms at the end of the movie in the credits the ships descend from the sky onto the tribe setting up a conclusion to how they got the pistol
@@Mitsoxfan I likely would have missed it too as the animation was just summarizing the movie so I looked away. When the music changed, I looked and saw the ships so rewound and watched the entire animated portion.
Keep sharing, reviewing, and rating and talking about sequels so we can get more to this story and eventually work up to more deadly predators. Let’s go for the ride and see how they follow up. Good movie with Prey! Now let’s keep it going guys
@@techniqueswithtodd I meant like elite or elder predators. The only time we e seen an elite predator was avpr and that Kinda sucked but wolf didn’t. Super predators were just big to be honest.
I personally think the gun will be used by predators to make the plasma cannon as like a foundational base . In AVP the plasma guns resemble the pistol.
Could be naru was the first human to ever kill a predator and the pistol is a symbol that she is accepted as a hunter. And maybe later the predators recover it later from some one
Adolini could be the pirate or the pirate's descendent. The predators who picked up the dead one in Prey probably retrieved the pistol because Naru hated using it and dropped and left it. They probably even thought that that was the weapon Naru used to kill their clan member.
What happened at the end was, my joy for the movie finally ending. Lol CGI lioness was sooo fake. CGI Kunai with Chain was kinda pointless. CGI bear scene sucked, Predator saved her. She almost gets her dog killed MULTIPLE times. She has no apparent skillset, until she conjures some up to kill dudes attacking her like she all of a sudden became a Veteran UFC fighter. Predator keeps letting her live for plot fight at end. "Smarter than a Beaver" Line was terrible.
07:40 No... In the Predator comic about Raphael and Greyback (The Predator Clan leader). This was about his hunt on earth and He didn't kill Raphael. Raphael didn't think it was right to steal from the church and wanted to return the treasure back to them but then his crew rebelled against him. He and the Predator fought together against his old crew and when they thought all of them were killed they were about to duel but not before one of his crew members that was hiding shot Raphael in the back. Greyback kills the pirate before he could escape and Raphael in his dying breath said "Take it" while he gave Greyback his pistol. Greyback in turn gave him his sword and said "Take it" then left the planet. Eventually Greyback became the Clan Leader being one of the few Predators know to have a successful hunt on earth
Fun fact the predators tribe and I'm assuming gray back and his tribe show up in a lether tapestry in the end credits thay show up after and I'm guessing kill Naru and take the gun
They did such a great job with this. This is the first time I’ve experienced watching a movie and wanting to IMMEDIATELY rewatch it. The team behind this should definitely be given the reigns to this franchise
@@zZiL341yRj736 all of y’all bitching about the writing and a female lead would be perfectly happy with this movie if the lead was a white male. Also, You misspelled “deflect”. I would think that’s the least you could do is spell correctly if you’re going to point out bad writing as a flaw. You’re complaining about shield being too small, not reacting to pain--He’s an ALIEN with ALIEN technology. All of this is made up! Quit being a dork. I suppose you thought that goofy ass Alien vs Predator deserved an Oscar
Unfortunately, it seems most people did NOT watch the ending. During the first half of the end credits, there are some animations in a native form of drawing representing some of the main scenes of the movie. As the credits begin to wrap up, the animation shows Naru presenting the head to the tribe. Suddenly the sky goes dark as the "Thunderbird" has returned. It is probably a safe assumption that the Predator family for the dead Hunter returns, slaughters the tribe, and takes the pistol as a trophy.
Looks like this was the smaller breed of the Predators too. He looked slightly taller than the brother. . Which do hunt in packs of 3 (according to Laurence Fishburne). The larger breed predator travels and hunts alone and which towered over Arnold! I would think this was the first time on earth, or at least for these predators. So they split up to see where the good hunting was. They probably returned and saw this little girl with their buddies head in her hands and freaked.
Yeah i skipped to the end credits and saw nothing, but then when i was "rewinding" i saw the pictograms were showing key scenes of the movie however the final scene also shows on the upper right corner 3 picto resembling mask-like ships, so maybe they return... and naru as a comache warrior to show respect and honor to the predators fallen brethren she gifted the gun to their predator elder who in turn gifts the gun back to another worthy human warrior detective mike harrigan in predator 2.... full circle i love that part so much i send a chain msg via whatsapp to all my friend just showing the iconic pistol without sayinh anything much.... so whoever was a true predator fan replied to me saying "HOLY SH....."
No one saw the post credit "scene"? It was an illustration of the final live action scene when they celebrated her successful hunt, but then stick figures look to the right and we see some space ships appear from the skies. They could have taken back the body of the captured Predator and maybe also gotten the pistol back - somehow
This was my thought exactly. The credits scene shows the ships coming in theory to retrieve the body and give a prize. Same as predator 2 and Aliens vs Predator.
@@nubiancaynes2128 They were likely coming to finish off the rest of the tribes people. 😞😞 That does not seem at all honorable to me. They should reward the tribes people for fighting well but instead they are coming to slaughter them all for fun. 😞😞
Yup, that's how I read it. Unfortunately for humans, Naru has forever marked us as "worthy prey", and this feeds into the whole Predator franchise. It's a smart call on the filmakers part.
@@lindsaybruce1396 this is what I was coming to post. Those ships meaning multiple Yautja may have landed and shown respect to Naru but also knew that there’d be more worthy opponents like her to hone their hunting skills against.
What happened? THE WRITING FELL APART!!! What crap. The dog just happens to show up at the exact right moment, with the girls weapon in it's mouth, then the predator just happens to fall in just the right place, and the laser just happens to line up exactly on it's head, etc. etc. lame.
The animation at the end of the film showed the Aliens returning to the Native American camp to retrieve their dead. So many of you “deep dive” channels have missed that detail and its mind boggling.
@@NukeMarine Agreed. I feel like this is pretty obvious to anyone who understands the predator films and understands the Yautja culture. Predator 1 and 2 show that the Yautja don't leave their dead bodies behind for evidence but instead detonate a bomb to cover their tracks. Predator 2 shows that if you kill a predator you get a prize for your achievement. AVP even shows this. Ships came back, took the severed head from the tribe, gave Naru a token of respect and she did the same, i.e. the pistol.
I think it was pretty self explanatory 🤣🤣 she was welcomed by her tribe as new war chief after killing it, and she warns her tribe of impending doom from the European invaders
Yeah... it shows them pointing up at what's clearly 2 or 3 predator ships descending right after she's named war chief. She and the predator were having their traditional test. Predator failed.
I believe the implications here is that the predators either came back for her and massacre the entire tribe and took the gun or the colonizers killed of the entire tribe and one of them took Rafael's gun, and later the events of the comic still happened but is not Rafael is just some other random pirate with Rafael's gun 🤔
thats not what they do if anything they would of gifted her a weapon or something as a show that she is a great hunter! then took the body of the fallen predator and she likely gave them the pistol in return.
What if Naru joined the predators? Went on a couple hunts then died leaving the gun to one of her companions, which then over time became elder then the events of predator 2 happen in which that elder knew about the last human hunter that defeated one of his kind in a hunt. So the elder gifts him the pistol.
End credits show three space ships return to earth. That’s most-likely how they get the pistol back. (An assumption, but you gotta acknowledge the end credits visuals).
My problem with this movie was that is was predictable and I never felt like Naru was ever in danger I never felt like she was going to die or anything and the film didn’t have deep connections with any other character so when they were killed it didn’t really bring emotion out of me. And throughout the entire movie Naru doesn’t change at all
This is 99% of movies man. You know the main character isn't going to die and will probably succeed in the end. I agree the character development wasn't really there but I appreciated that they skipped straight to the action, spending very little time bullshitting and getting straight to the gore. That left no space for meaningless development for characters who will die and never be relevant again. And while I don't think Naru changed very much in my eyes the beauty of her character was being very observant to every technique Predator uses and eventually using them all against him. I mean the mask, the laser guided arrows, the tree jumping, the shield, Predator vision was all taken into consideration in her counter attack. She was the prey and became the predator, fulfilling her goal of becoming an official hunter within her tribe. This is a stark contrast to how scared she was fighting the lion in the beginning of the movie. I think she learned a respect for predators (lions, bears, aliens) that she didn't have before as an "unblooded" girl trying to become a hunter.
As for the pistol. It is entirely possible that the Translator Raphael is from the doomed pirate ship and before leaving was given one of the Captain's pistols, coincidentally having the same first name. Or even having the same last name and different first names, maybe brothers. This would make more sense since Raphael is well traveled and ended up with the French from the pirate ship. It might be that there were in fact two pistols made for Raphael by the Captain of the ship before he departed. A fitting present for a Captain to give his brother, and valued crew member, upon leaving to seek his own fortune with a group of French. Raphael could have left one the Pistols with the captain, his brother, as a parting gift also. Even more poetic might be that they were twin brothers to mirror the twin pistols made. A great dialogue between them might be..... Captain: "Take these." [gives Raphael two pistols] you name is on them so those trappers can't steal one and claim ownership. Raphael: "Brother, a wonderful parting gift. But, you keep one. Know that I will be with you on your journeys, there, also to protect you." [the twin brothers hug] The twin pistols part ways along with the men that carry them not knowing they will share the same fate, as sometimes twins do....
In the movies the pistol is engraved with Raphael Adolini, but in the comic book it is Raphael Andolini. Is it the same pistol or could it be a different pistol?
The Predator doesn't kill the whole crew. Adolini kills some of them himself, and then Adolini is killed by the last surviving member of the crew, who is then killed by the Predator
Honestly in my opinion they should have made a predator movie during the time before Humanity had created rifles and guns, like probably during the Dark Ages and medieval error, now that probably would have been more realistic but it would had been unfair to the humans, because they would be at a huge disadvantage when standing Toe to Toe against the Predator, no matter how an experience he is either in technology and/or weaponry.
The predator was so stupid he didn’t understand how his own tech worked twice in the movie he used his guidance laser twice and the spears didn’t go where he was aiming and he still continue to shoot that was stupid!
Yeah that was the one thing that bothered me so much. Like when he helmet is not on his head and he still tried to shoot those futuristic arrows, like why would he do that if he clearly knows he isn't wearing his helmet and thus cannot control the arrows, why the hell would he shoot those things!!! He basically died to his own Helmet and weapon which you would think he should know "oh I don't have my helmet on so I better not fire these things because I can't control where they will go " but nope he just tries it anyway and kills himself in the process. In an otherwise really enjoyable movie, that was really really dunb
What are you talking about? It know how its tech works, what it didn't know was that its helmet was in the area she had laid out. Bout time it knew where it's helm was, it was already too late. If the helm wasn't in his area and didn't have a target to lock on to, the arrow would have gone through her. She got the upper hand by having prep time.
@@darryljack6612 bro but your missing the point, why would he shoot the arrows if he wasn't wearing his helmet regardless??? It doesnt make sense. They demonstrate in the movie that his arrows are locked into whatever his helmet targets. So if he wasn't wearing his helmet, those projectile arrows would have been useless and impossible to predict where they will go so why would he use those it makes no sense? He died because she set the helmet up to perfectly lock onto his head, but ask yourself again, why the hell would he try to shoot her with that weapon if HE DIDNT HAVE HIS HELMET ON. Those arrows are tied to the helmet tracking lock on without it he should have never fired them it's what got himself killed
@@gensteps923 I just said why, because he didnt know the helmet was near. If the helmet doesnt have something to lock on to with its guided laser sights, then the spears just fire as normal from the weapon. He didnt know she had placed it in their area and with it locked on him. If she didnt do this then it would have fired like any other type of gun to its point of aim.
The Yautja probably went to her tribe to retrieve the head of their fallen predator. Upon arrival the Yautja gave her a weapon for fighting so valiantly and she then gave the Yautja leader the pistol. Fast forward to the future and the same Yautja that recieve pistol from naru gave the pistol to Lt. Mike out of respect.
I really don't see the big hype of this movie it was to simple and predictable normal hunt die and then the end idk but imo it's not that interesting but I definitely believe it's a solid good simple predator movie to watch but not nothing over the top
I was extremely worried when i heard the plot of the movie, when it was set and who the main character would be . I admit I was skeptical because of the new direction most movies these, especially those with a "girl power" theme , so I was expecting another piece of "woke garbage" to put the final nail in the coffin of the Predator franchise. But holy shit was I wrong, the writers and directors of this movie gave it completely new life and I am in love with this film as it brought back the old feelings of the original predator . Also Naru was so well done along with her brother. Naru in my opinion is the "Ripley" of the Predator universe in which she is simply an ultimate survivor and understands her foes . She is an amazing character and was actually realistic in her methods . I was wondering how a 15 year old looking Indian girl would even dare match up against a Predator , and as the movie rolled on it was so well told and foreshadowed how, again in a totally realistic way in accordance to that franchise . I hope they do another with Naru and with that showing how the gun does end up back with the predator clan. There is after all a human female who was indeed taken in by the Yautja down the line, but for fun that doesnt mean Naru cant possibly take that path in another installment . Im just excited after the crap we have been given since Predator 2 .
How could she have known that his head would be in that exact spot and that he would fire off his dart thingys at that exact moment?? And also on top of that she mustve been relying on him not understanding the capabilities of his own weaponry lol
Because Naru got stuck in that exact same location herself earlier in the movie? The whole movie points out how early weaponry in general was very unreliable. I'm willing to bet that's why the pred killed with blades most of the time
It was stupid, would you fire the shot if you didn’t see where the target system was aiming? Are we really supposed to believe this predator is that dumb?
The opening lines to the film were about a MONSTER coming to THE LAND a Long Long Time Ago. I'd bet money that if you were to ask any Commanche descendant, they wouldn't say it was a Yautja.
When will we get a predator movie that shows them actually winning... and coming back from successful hunt or trial?? like so far every time they come to earth they get beat even though they are smarter and stronger and have more experience... 🤔 also i find it hard to believe that a chick who almost dies from a rock and a bear but wins against a predator?!?!
The stories are generally human-centric so we get the perspective of the survivor. It seems likely that the Predators have been visiting Earth for some time and many young hunters have earned their stripes hunting humans. It would be interesting though to see the entire first hunt from the aliens point of view. I hope they would be careful not to destroy the mystique of the hunter’s culture.
The pistol always had me thinking, I really don't think they would past down that trophy. But the question is how did they get it back to give it to the cop. They have never made any mention on time travel so does that mean they live a really long time? Good movie all the same and love the tie in to the other movie time lines.
The end credits show drawings of the movie and at the end it shows a drawing of several predator ships flying in after the scene where the movie ends.that would suggest they wiped out the tribe and thats how they got the gun.
Shit, mighta wiped out the whole damned species if Feral managed to get it back on the ship. Imagine THAT story arc - Feral kills Comanche brave, takes pistol and blanket as trophies, returns to home world a proven hunter, starts coughing while receiving honors from elders. Roll credits.
One flaw A stone age person would not know the connections between the tech weapons and causations Film puts a modern perspective into the reactions and logic of a person to whom the predators tech would just be magic Deducing the helmet guided the weapons would be beyond her understanding
Actually the predator tribe come back and wipe out the hole tribe It is shown on a lethe tapestry in the end credits is how the leader got the pistol later
Unlikely, predators did return to retrieve their fallen, and most likely to honor naru.... i bet naru in return granted the gun as a token of respect to their elder, warrior tribe to warrior tribe.... Otherwise there would be no recollection of "comanche" tribe in the annals of history....
If that was true there would be nobody to write the drawings. No it’s more likely they retrieved their comrade and they gave her an item and she gave them the gun.
As commented here before, the end credits show a sneak peak where the story might go or at least shows how they got the gun from Raphael back. Little bit like Predator 2 where the other hunters from his tribe come and pick up the body and maybe exchange the gun for something else as a token of respect or who knows they come back to finish the job in the newest predator movie.
Naru is a re-imagining of the character Machiko Noguchi. I am betting she will get blooded and go hunting with them. The story supports this because all Naru wants is to be part of the hunt and respected among her peers. She has a new set of peers now.
This movie was by far the best predator movie since P2. As for how the Predator Elder gets the gun. For me only makes since that they come to claim the juveniles body for ritual burial. As they almost always do if the predator doesn't sacrifice itself. And in doing so something happens that causes it to aquire it.
@@angelbast3rd133 You can like what you like. Predators had a LOT of holes in it. If the predators could just transport people/alien species to a game hunting preserve, WHY then did they fly to the planets TO hunt? If they were looking for the baddest of the bad, why pick a doctor serial killer that used toxins? How does that stack up to a BA soldier when there are literally thousands of people that murder other people? But sure... you do you.
@@mgass1354 you're claiming a hunting preserve is far fetched? Lmfao wow. Alien abducting isn't in the least bizarre from a far superior race of aliens.
Well, if you go too far into the future for the setting of these movies. You run the risk of trying to think up and create futuristic weapons, that aren't so one-sided. Meaning, it would be too advanced and it would all be automated technology that really wouldn't require a lot of hunting skills. Like how guns are too easy to use and don't require a whole lot of skill to kill someone. If anything, it's too easy to kill someone now. The step back in time makes more sense with these movies bc the arsenals require skillful use and is more suitable for an exciting hunt. However, that does only apply to the human species. When fighting other aliens on different planets, I'm sure (or they should) be using different weapons
I was quite surprised that an Easter egg channel missed the Thunderbirds returning in the early credits. I quickly took that to mean they came back for the head and I would also assume they were given the pistol as a trophy by Naru. She wouldn’t have needed it anymore, I mean it never worked for her and she didn’t have anymore gunpowder.
📢NOTE! THESE ARE OPINIONS OF MY OWN EXPERIENCES AND THIS IS A REALLY LONG TOPIC WITH SERIOUS CRITICISM. I HAVE ALSO USED GOOGLE TRANSLATOR TO HELP, THE READER HAS NOW BEEN WARNED⚠️ I'm a really big predator fan and I love the whole avp series. but totally disappointed with this PREY end result! I noticed that this movie was not made with any heart and the predator looked terrible in appearance even physically. and I want to mention more than 5 notable relevant things that went wrong in the PREY MOVIE. I'll be the first to admit that the movie has still been tried to be executed nicely with effects and spectacularity, but that's about it, I was afraid that this is exactly how it would turn out. (1. THE LAST FIGHT OF THE STORY. (2. THE END. for once it would have been nice to see that the predator had been the winner just once in this particular movie or the main character would have understood that it is not a sadistic murderer who kills everyone but for fun, then when I saw that the girl took the predator's head with her which was still a mouthful of hatred towards the whole movie. the ending could have been very much like the short predator movie dark age. or where the predator and Alexa Woods cooperated for certain understandable reasons, in which case it could have been between the predator and the naru that they fight against these animal butchers and the girl would save this predator with her own life, and at the end the predator marks this person as a respectable warrior. the predator and the girl would have finally got 1 only comprehensible and perfect ending for this avp/predator series and for the defending parties. and it's not for nothing that we tear p from the predator who saved and spared this main character many times in a sympathetic way (3. TRAITS OF A PREDATOR. (4. LOGIC. annoying when it was decided to spoil the predator's face, then the physical/strength level and intelligence as well as the mobility were lowered so significantly, it seemed that the predator was not really aggressive either, which is already provided in the video games, books and avp1,2, predator picture in the movies. I still expected the predator to be much more dominant when it fought against the bear and humans, so from the scene I could already conclude that the movie was going downwards and in the direction of unrealistic. the predator's reflexes and speed were really slow. a reminder here, the predators in the avp movie were much more supernatural, stronger, even more realistic, also more aggressive, and more controlling. exactly those scenes when they pushed the pyramid's corridors to the ground level. the predators have been seen to be able to almost easily lift many up to twenty tons of very large heavy metal doors and also twist and tear them to pieces with their bare hands almost without any effort and are able to crush the bones of even the biggest enemies with great ease, also literally lift and throw them here and there. the predator's biting powers are also very strong, it was already noticed in the movie predator 5 when the yautja escaped from the institution, But the little girl was able to tear out the tooth of this predator's jaw quite easily, which made no sense. we also know that a predator can quite easily destroy, for example, army bases. it feels like when physical raw destructive power is not valued much anymore, but some kind of circus clown tricks. the movie would have improved significantly if the greater brute force of the predator had been better shown as well as the intelligence. (5. PREDATOR'S INJURIES. The PREY movie took away almost all of the predator's features and durability. first of all, what I remembered from the movie was that the predator was damaged more than 30 times, and was very bad at sensing the enemies. so the attraction of the movie disappeared completely, and I guessed the events are quite close. except when a small, insignificant wolf bites noticeably on the leg, in which case the predator was made significantly more vulnerable. I am waiting for the next part, where it will be the turn of the real predators to rock and shine and where we can get a good and seemingly brilliant match. because this predator, what was this PREY in the movie, it didn't feel like a predator at all, but a mocked and trolled one whose eyes were very far apart and the lower jaws were also very small, the forehead was too big where it seemed to have nostrils, because of frustration I laughed when it looked more like a mutated frog than a predator. ( 6. INSPIRATION BY THE INAPPROPRIATE TERMINATION OF NOTICES. I say that they should stop being inspired by other movies and let them do how it has worked in their own style. and how can you get a movie that suits almost everyone, especially in programs like this. just that the fan side is supported, it would be made with old classic film elements/materials and small references like why it looks strange and is weak or why it does that. and not just that Hey, look at the predator who is coming to take his turn, I'm saying that there is no pleasure in every point if the main opponent is being humiliated all the time. Terminator dark Fate is a good example of this PREY movie, and many others that go wrong in logic. but yes, I'm just saying that the creators of the PREY movie should admit that it is not related to the events of the AVP series in any way and that it was inspired in the same style from the Predator movies, but in a different style. but the explanations have already been shown and given. (7. RATING. I only give one star for the good scenery sights and battle effects, and half a star would have been if one of those features wasn't good. in my eyes, the movie was 1/5. It's a fan series and its the nation must not be destroyed. And the avp series, people are not used to the dominant power of men and women and the animals of our country. but just learned that we are those weak and worthless primates. But this movie had a different opinion, and sorry my english not good but i hope everbody understanding.
Damn the movie is cool at least they return to their roots of survival action but I think the predator got nerf for not having that plazma cannon that he always use to kill opponent who's far distance from him well I guess if they include that weapon the predator will be too OP against anyone
The most likely answer to your question in 7:13 of the video, is at the end credits there is a illustration that shortly after Naru went back to her tribe with the head of the predator, 3-4 predator ships appears in the sky suggesting that other predators need to claim the body of the fallen predator like in other predator movies. I don't believe it was portrayed what happened next but either way they ended up holding the gun until it was given to Danny Glover.
PREY 2 already talked about, in Forbes! Business! Hulu scores hit w PREY in streaming, HBO & Netflix flounder, PREY 2 may mean Theatre release, maybe w PREY also. Lead Creative Producer is a Comanche woman had a great team plus a Comanche dub (also in Spanish). There are Native/Indigenous characters throughout Predator Legacy & Comix. Amber was also in LEGION & her father was Nightwolf in Mortal Kombat. The Predator technology is also 300 years old. And the Comanche were way more North of Oklahoma at that time.
Heard nothing good about this... movie, didn't watch it, but the title of this video piqued my curiosity, thought there was SOMETHING interesting about it. I mean in a sci-fi setting you do have to take some liberties, but this series was mainly historically accurate... most the time. Besides the fact that hunter-gatherer human tribes were used by the Hunters as breeding grounds for more worthy catches ( read as "being sacrifices for the Aliens to be born" ), I dunno if in the tribes of Indians, whichever tribe it would be, would allow women to fight and hunt... NOW people scream myzsogyniegztixs whenever a man expresses a slightly dated view of men-women relations... Back then it was even more strict, with men as the providers, the huntsmen, the warriors, while women would make clothes, raise children and make a home. Doubtful a whole village would allow a woman to put herself at the same level with men. Let alone this woman beating a full-grown FUCKING Predator, who SLAUGHTERED colonists and her own tribesmen like they were ragdolls, TF?! Complete contrast to the woman in the first Alien VS Predator, who merely helped the Hunter fight Aliens. She wasn't a warrior, she was an adventurer, but the circumstance forced her to choose between fight and flight. And fight she did.
Being politically correct dictates that the European hunters HAVE to be portrayed as bumbling fools while the Indians be portrayed as peaceful (even when they were at war with the other tribes BEFORE Europeans came) masters of the universe….. They ALSO had to make the woman the one that was the badass……….🤔😂
"Superior Intelligence defeats superiour Technology"? What? If the Predators created Superior Technology, like Space Travel, Lasers, Invisibility etc, etc. They must have at least equal or more likely superior intelligence.
Very good movie. The black widow bit with the Europeans was not necessary as that was not camanche in anyway. The other bit was grabbing naru by the throat is game over if written with correct understanding. The predator wanted her dead and judging by its strength feats should've crushed her neck 🤷🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️
Didn’t know that Amber Midthunder was actually Native American. She’s a cutie that’s for sure. It was the best predator movie since the original in 1987 IMO.

Maybe they'll do a sequel to Prey, where they explain how the gun ends up back with the Yautja. I certainly hope so. But the line "It's the first time for the creature on earth, looking for a worthy opponent." is pure BS. Predator vs Alien showed the Yautja established on earth around the time of the aztecs and mayans. So either they redcon this or this will come back to bite them in the butt later.
When I first heard that Prey was not going to be released on dvd/Blu-ray I was so disappointed. I love the franchise and to not have this movie on my shelf was aggravating. When I heard about the release I was so stoked, and upon finally being able to watch the movie it was awesome! This is a great movie!! If the do another installment in this era, I hope they still use all the cast (that they can), directors, etc. etc.
In the comic 1718, the Predator *never* killed Rafael Adolini. He die from a gunshot wound of the mutinous crew. The gun was given to the Predator out of respect from Rafael.
As usual history has little to do with this fiction. At least the real world time line should be correct. The Commanche had been raiding the Spanish for years before the 1700s, they already were horse Indians, noted for riding, and few would have spent their time wandering on foot. So enjoy a film; but don't take any of the background history as necessarily true.
Dude. Way to miss I pretty huge point of the story. Go back.a watch the end into the credits. The HOW the predators get the musket pistol is answered there. Next time, try watching a movie through the credits. You should know how movie makers love their easter eggs these days.
The only thing wrong with the ending is the pred dying. Would be nice if one made it back..... This movie my suggest the elder in pred 2 might show up, and leave successfull. With the pistol now wouldn't that be nice. 🤔
Wanted to like it more but she didn’t fight anything! She didn’t kill the deer, the bear, the possums, any bison or people. She walks into the quick sand. She didn’t save her brother and she watched her dog get shot at. She didn’t attack the predator until she was standing behind him for about a minute with the gun aimed at the back of his head. Disappointing. I loved the actor. She was fantastic.
Terrible movie. When a Yautja gets his arm cut off by his own weaponry then later on gets killed by said weaponry, not a good look. Not once was I worried for the heroine like I was for Dutch and his group. Not to mention there is such a lack of character development. She was a "badass" when the movie started she was a "badass" when the movie ended. On the original it starts off as Dutch being a hardcore commando who gets the job done by the end he and we as the audience realized he was in over his head fighting tooth and nail to stay alive. The only good things about this movie is the kills. Also does anyone else think it's strange that the Yautja have conquered galactic space travel at this point in time but they for some reason don't have their shoulder energy based weapon we're used to seeing. Makes no sense.
First predator movie I’ve seen and it was good but it was pretty generic seeming the whole time And it didn’t seem like a contemporary generic film… but like a dated generic film with contemporary visuals It was fine, basically
I think the clue how they get the gun is hidden in the beginning of end credits. During end credits when they showing sequence of "wall paintings" that showed everything what happened in the movie - everything except one thing. Last painting shows that after Naru becomes War Chief they spotted more Predator ships on the sky, so perhaps the chief of the tribe gave the predators a pistol as a sign of respect when they came to retrieve the body of their fallen warrior? But that just my theory, and sorry for bad english.
the part that confused me was the homing arrow at the end, did the predator shoot it at eva and she impaled it so that it could home around and kill the predator or did he just miss point blank? she even gasped after he shot like it went through her but then had no injuries following. I know that it needs the helmet to be fired straight but it still had momentum implying it went straight through her initially before circling back
She set up his helmet with the tracking beams to point at his own forehead but since she doesn’t know how the tech work it was more of a gamble so it was a sigh of relief that it worked
She measures the predators height earlier on, by measuring its foot length. She used this to adjust the helmet in place to aim at his head and fought, tripped and lured him into the trap. While making herself hard to hit in melee, tricking the predator into using his spike launcher, he didn’t realize she had the helmet and so their homing activated and rapidly diverted path to the target (the predaters head). She basically tricked it into killing itself because she couldn’t overpower it normally. Finally a female character that had to learn and adapt to win. Instead of just being an unstoppable badass. I loved this movie.
This was a good movie. But that predator was like a level 1 hunter. Probably fresh out of boot camp and it shows. He had some skills but was arrogant and had very little experience. This dude would have to grind a lot more in order to unlock a xenomorph hunt
Reallly would’ve much rather seen a full Sequel to predator 2018 and make it abt the predators vs the Humans with that new predator killer thing shit would’ve been sick to see but oh well
What if her having the gun means this is a different timeline? Maybe OG predator is a timeline where naru lost? It would be a nice way to ignore some of the less... good movies... The predator.
Just cause this movie was released doesn't make the comic book not canon cause apparently we are forgetting avp and alot of people say it's not canon either so. I'm still staying with the comic book canon. Then someone who disregarded the history of the actual history of the character he made a movie about. Still enjoyed the movie tho
Knowing how the Predators don't like to leave their tech just lying around. (The nuclear blast at the end of Predator). One would assume they would check on the hunter and see what happened to him.
I get so sick of people playing the “land theft“ card! To the Victor goes the spoils! That’s the way it has been for the end of time! Land changes constantly. Think about any war ever some sides gained land other sides lost land it’s not theft it’s victory! They lost get over it
Even though I watch it on Hulu, it's just not the same theatrical experience 😪 that I would definitely paid to see it in theaters rather than streaming it. Especially when tv 📺 is 24 inch and not everyone has fast speed internet access
