India and Australia series bring madness, this one certainly did that. But almost exclusively on India's side. It was crazy fun. Jarrod wrote a lot on the series, but here he looks at just how weird this brilliant series was.

From the time i saw sundar for the first time in IPL i realised i am looking at the most intelligent cricket mind after Dhoni and Ashwin. If Sundar keeps at it. He will have a better mind and legacy to leave behind. Guy got the goods along with brains..

@sangitahermione 3 года назад
@@rudramahadev22 But Natarajan just broke into the scene. If he played well in limited format games, there was a possibility that he'd eventually get a test cap. But the same cannot be said for Sundar. He had already represented India in limited over formats but never called for tests. He wasn't even playing first class cricket since the last couple of years. Multiple injuries, ongoing pandemic- this was the opportunity for him to debut. As if the world conspired to make him play test cricket.

This video sums it all. What a feeling when Pant hit that last boundary. Never expected the win, draw may be but the results are Historic. Say what you may about 2005 ashes but this right here was the best series in history of Test cricket. Do people even realise how many who didn't even cared about test cricket are enjoying it now. I was covid positive when the series started and watched the last ball of the series on a toilet seat in my office (after getting covid negative ofcourse) as I couldn't afford a day off. @Evil Jester, great effort to undermine one of the if not the greatest test match of all time. For starters, we never get players from other nationalities to play for us unlike many teams. Also, the best teams of Sri Lanka or WI might sweat to win against what was the Indian C team that won Gabba. So, it won't be fair to take their names. If you are anyway implying that BCCI waved their money to get what they want, they would never have gotten themselves all out for 36 and you would also be questioning the integrity of world cricket

IMO, The GABBA victory was the greatest and the craziest test victory of all time and it was also easily India's greatest series victory. I consider it the best test series that I have ever watched (and that includes both 2005 Ashes as well as the 2001 Ind vs Aus series). But aside from all that, who would believe that the two best shots of the series (1. A full blooded back foot cover drive (ala Viv and Steve Waugh) from Thakur off a 145k Starc delivery 2. A one leg hook for 6 off a 140k Cummins delivery by Sundar) would come from net bowlers.

This was absolutely fun from beginning to end. Don't forget - India had Shardul Thakur as net bowler too, eventually replacing Shami. The man, a bowler, hit a 50!

Ashwin reinvented himself during his last visit to England.He is now way ahead of Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh bowling in these conditions.
