I can perhaps excuse the ordinary Germans who failed to act against the atrocities of Hitler's Holocaust, as they might not have been aware of the full extent of the horrors. However, how can I justify the indifference of ordinary Israelis who, in the age of social media, witness the daily deaths of thousands of children?
You know that there are not thousand of deaths of children in Gaza. The Israeli Army has put its own troops at great hazard, beyond that of other armies fighting in modern urban enviroments, far beyond, to minimize civilian deaths. You also know that it is a war crime to endanger innocents by placing missle launchers, arms depots, military command posts in amoung the civilian population, in schools, damn it, in hospitals, damn it, and in many other places where innocent children are used as shields. But that is what Hamas does.
Dar al-Islam is the term. The abode of Islam. In context here it means that any lands once conquered or ruled by Islam are forever Islamic, and if lost to Islam beg to be reconquered, a religious dictate.
