In this video we show you what it was like spending the last night at the Tropicana Las Vegas. The Tropicana Las Vegas was in business for almost 67 years. We watched as they shut off the slot machines and tore out machines right after the gaming board came in and closed the casino portion at 3am. We also got the exclusive closing of the front doors as we watched another classic hotel go down in Las Vegas history.

I didn't realize you worked there. There were some employees left that have been working there for 48 years, 35 years...really long times. Imagine the feelings of loss they are feeling. Also, imagine the memories they have of when the Trop was bustling with with the Rat Pack and other celebs? The guy that worked for 48 years said he was very sad but it was time. (I forget who interviewed him briefly?) It is still very sad to see a historical building close and eventually be demolished. You chronicled the end with some really good videos Jeff. Thank you for that. Hope you and Kristina had a nice night. There were a lot of Tubers there. You Tube does come in handy for keeping memories alive. There is nothing but still photos of properties that have been long gone.

I moved to Vegas in 2004, I walked through every casino the first couple days. I remember the Tropicana felt different. They hadn’t modernized it yet. As you approach the main entrance from the dark valet area, all you see is goldish old school lights beaming through the glass doors, it felt very cinematic. Low lighting, warm tones, and the long casino floor with the glass ceiling. It was packed too.

I am from the UK, my husband and myself stayed there 20 years ago, we got married in Vegas, 6th November 2004. He passed away in March 2008. I will treasure the memories. So sad to see it go, thank you for sharing your last night there ❤

This was an amazing video and place! The architecture, the landscaping, the history, the legacy, the memories, and all the Tropicana gave to us! I love the final scenes with the employees, that was very nice. 😂 I saw a 1978 Charlie's Angels in Vegas Episode filmed here at the Trop, I thought it was cool. My parents married in 57, and loved the Tropicana. So I have a special place in my heart for the Trop. Shame on the city and Bally's for selling out like that, just to make a buck. The Trop helped build that city and history. She deserved to be honored and preserved. What a shame. God bless all the employees and their new ventures. Thanks to all. Loved this video. It was so, so great that you AND Kristina were able to be present for closing night at the "Old Girl",.......it was a wonderful, although sad, final tour that you both took us on !! The fact that you sub-contracted there for 10 years also had to add to the nostalgia of the occasion (poor little Kristina in tears) !!! GOODBYE, TROP, you will be truly missed !!!!!! So sad. An iconic casino going into the history books. My memories there was amazing! I was part of their nightlife back in 2011 when Nikki Nightclub was open. During that time it was part of 180 million dollar renovation with old contemporary style casino to a more modern style that you see in your video. Great live entertainment, good food, and relaxing bar and lounges. It was like a go to quick getaway a hidden gem (oasis) from it all and go to Tropicana! Luckily I got the opportunity to stay there back in 2009. Truly this hotel/casino will be missed! Until history gives it another name, long live Tropicana Las Vegas! She will carry herself with grandeur for many more years!❤👼❤

The 1950's on the Strip is now history, the oldest resort rooms are now at Sahara with the Tunis Tower opening in 1960. Great vlog!

Our daughter and son-in-law got married at the Tropicana in 1997. They flew in a couple of weeks ago to revisit the wedding chapel, so it was good memories and sad at the same time. Loved your video of the Trop's last night!

That was one hell of a view!! Sadly this place needed to go, very outdated and in serious need of a massive renovation. The only time I was there was way back in time, we were walking down the strip and there was a man with a white tiger cub. Naturally we approached and it was Rick Thomas as he was leaving a lady was handing out "complementary" tickets for a 2PM show. It was very entertaining, gambled some and walked to MGM, never to step foot in there again, low ceilings, smoke filled everywhere, dark, just not our thing. Funny I have been on RU-vid for about 10 or so years and have not seen one vlog on the Tropicana and now people are freaking out about the demise of the place....🙄🙄 I don't remember seeing the stained glass ceiling though...?? Great vlog, thanks for taking the time and letting us see the last day of this place!! If those walls could talk... 🤯 Those ladies crying...seriously 🙄 Sad for the employees but not like there isn't other casinos around.... Viva Las Vegas!!

Thanks. My favorite vlog of the closing of Las Vegas Trop! I 'closed down' Sands in Atlantic City & experience (casino closed at 5:59am) was very different. Lots of paper and cocktail glasses on floor! and no maintenance people on the floor (probably partying, which they should be). Great vlog!

This is one of the most depressing videos I have seen from you since I subscribed. Husband and I have fond memories of the Tropicana and the show "Folies Bergeire" I remember seeing Lance Burton doing his magic tricks as a fill in while the cast did their costume change. There was such elegance that has now left Las Vegas. I see the lack of respect customers have when enjoying a fine dining restaurant by wearing casual attire. No one cares about dressing up anymore. I miss the neon lights of the past. I remember that the Tropicana was the last Hotel at the end of the strip. Of course this was eons ago when you and your wife were still teething and in diapers or maybe you weren't born yet. I understand the paradigm is different from my era and changes are inevitable and one has to adapt , that does not necessarily make it better.

Hi Shelley, trust me, Jeff and I feel the same way about the loss of class and elegance here in Vegas. We’ve always talked about how cool it would be to bring some of it back with a dinner club that fall back to Old Vegas. As a bit of a backstory, my dad played with the Ratt Pack off and on and was really good friends with Frank. Old Vegas is in my blood. ♥️

Still can't believe Bally's really chose to shut it down and let the absolute worst team in baseball build a stadium there. Long live the Tropicana!

I’m not really gonna judge the baseball team because I don’t have a lot of knowledge on baseball like that however I do disagree with the fact that a baseball stadium is replacing a hotel. If it was up to me instead of replacing the Tropicana I would just rebrand the hotel as ballys and just build a baseball stadium NEXT to the new Ballys on the other side. The reason I say Bally’s is because before I heard about the baseball stadium replacing Tropicana I heard originally they wanted to rebrand the hotel as Ballys so I figured why not they just do that

Sad to lose the Vegas history it would probably be a different story if it had been center strip like flamingo. Hopefully the baseball stadium will bring visitors to the southern strip properties 👍 but I don't care about baseball though.

Well, not exactly a spectacular last night. When I see the videos of the employees out front, I wonder how many are retiring and how many are going to work at other properties. I've stayed there about three or four times over the years, but not recently. Usually I was in the tower in back, that I think they called the Island Tower. The rooms usually had a mirror on the ceiling, but I didn't like lying on the bed looking at myself. The prices were reasonable (before Vegas went crazy with the prices). Another last night video I just watched showed the hotel charged $600 for one night in a standard room. As far as building a baseball stadium there, they could have built it elsewhere. Baseball games and the Las Vegas strip I don't think match. I wouldn't think of going to Las Vegas to attend baseball games. It will create all sorts of congestion on the strip, which is congested enough. Oh, well. It's not my decision.
