My husband's cousin lives by him and said the show is real , but the other show The Alaskan bush show with all the kids was fake .

@@cherieshook8655The Kilcher family is the real deal, and have lived in the same land their ancestors lived on in forties,do not get them confused with fake reality show (ABP), and Otto is the father of Jewel the pop star and according to her he was a bad drunk years ago and and was abusive.So he is not always been family friendly.

When I was a kid we'd say "Just McGyver it." (Meaning to find some unusual "out of the box" way of figuring something out to fix it ) Now we say "Just Kilcher it." Hahaha.

Some people think it’s easy to live in the wilderness when in all actuality one is working day and night in demanding circumstances. If you think about everything we do on a daily basis and than how would we do it in the wilderness it becomes mind blowing.

Homer is NOT the wilderness, it's on the road system, has ferry service, plenty of stores, boats, airplanes, parts stores

The Kilchers were very wealthy when they came to Alaska and are now millionaires. You cannot be poor and live the way they do. The Last Frontier is as fake as it comes. If you have ever been on a farm, you can see it a mile off.
