Silkk The Shocker is one of the only rappers (besides DMX) to go platinum on two solo albums within a 1 year time span...Charge it 2 da game and Made Man were released about 11 months apart both sold well over 1 million units ...He does not get the credit he deserves!!
@@chateaudasavior Its true! i was the one who added the part about Silk selling 1million units twice in 1 year to his wikipedia page.. seems like no one remembered!
Silk was ahead of his time everything they saying today and rapping style he was doing it and he got bars out this world crazy it took me until my 30s to listen to all that old silk and big ed and couldn’t believe what silk was saying he was so slept on
@@deshaunceyrudd5645 Silkk is probably the most inconsistent rapper in History but he sure had a few fire verses and bars especially in the earlier days. Then he kinda became lazy and mostly relied on features by other no limit artist to make his songs good, but yeah mos def not one of the worst rappers of all time like a lot people say, but not of the best either not even in No Limit
@@hidenname541 bs, silk didn't get lazy he said he never cared about rapping, he was a business man. That's why he was the lead in hot boys movie, dude wasn't your typical new Orleans rapper he was brilliant
Silk is one of the only rappers with a unique style who could've cram 20 bars into one sentence...😂😂 Legendary.....And I grew up a silk fan and still is
THATS NOT HARD TO DO WHEN YOUR BROTHER IS BUYING MOST OF YOUR RECORDS AND GIVING THEM AWAY FOR FREE!!! MASTER P DID THAT WITH ALL OF HIS ARTISTS THATS WHY UNIVERSAL GAVE HIM THE 80/20 DEAL. NONE OF THOSE GUYS HAD PLATINUM TALENTS OR RAP SKILLS. ALL ONE SYLLABLE BARS WITH LIMITED THOUGHT PROCESSESS.
Boy what?!?I heard “it ain’t my fault”, “let me hit it”, and “just be straight with me” all over the radio living in Memphis and Georgia!! Idk what you talking about no radio play lmao
NOTE: Silkk the Shocker WAS BORN ON June 18, 1975. I have no idea why I said 1971. If you enjoyed it, consider subscribing and following me on Instragram: notsnurb
No Limit was the shit back in the day man. Amazing, classic album covers. Snoop's "The Game is to be Sold, Not Told" was actually pretty good. P, Silkk, C-Murda.....dope as fuck. I even remember a dude named Skull Duggery had a decent album too.
@@DonDada110478 oh, like album covers today are? At least the photoshopped covers from back in the day had charm and most of the time had dope music. Muaic nowadays is boring and straight 🗑
It don’t matter if it was one year apart or not silk is Goated in the rap game the whole no limit roster was just Goated with the performances and songs. They did back in the day leading up to the early Y2K bullshit.
The most hated on rapper! His off beat style was dope to me, songs like ‘Going around outside’ is a masterpiece. Why people always comment negatively about his style is crazy! 💯✊🏾
It's one thing if the off beat was intentional another if it wasn't. If P didn't get that deal Silk wouldn't have got signed solo dolo. But like a few of his verses. Different but not exactly talented.
Sillk had bars underrated for sure his style an delivery was his own jus a lil off beat that y people say he was trash all his albums was classics in my book
Yeh, my younger brother and I love Silk. When his first video aired (when he was going through them tvs like the movie) I gotta say, he shocked us with that one.
people diss silkk for rapping off beat that was his style. he came from a area where rappers was trying to have there own styles not sound like whos ever on top. cheak out the shocker album the song shock the world the whole album.
My favourite Silkk songs 1. Them Boyz feat. Mystikal 2. It Ain't My Fault 2 feat. Mystikal 3. Haters 4. He Did That with Master P 5. I'm Coming (MVP theme track)
@mistaknewitall2718 neva no Mr. Peacekeeper, mo like the Mr. Grim Reaper when I come lookin for you Mr. Heat seeker. WHEN I FIND YOU Mr. Street sweeper!!! One of the hardest bars ever spit!!!!!!
Yeah this video was wrong in a lot of stuff. Like Silkk appeared on Master P the ghettos tryin to kill me but this dude said he was on the bouncin and swangin
This is the weakest rapper to ever get on the mic he got over because of the no limit movement most rappers still drop a hit later in their career let him try it now he rode that wave
