Ratrods and restomods will always be around it's just the celebrities drooling over them has died down. I've built multiple cars. My show car wins awards but my ratrods and restomods get all fans

My ratrods get more looks than my award winning show car. The beauty of ratrods is they were meant to be built by the owners to be driven daily then shops like these started producing fake ratrods that can't be a daily driver. My favorite ratrod is my 79 ram built to be my company truck to pull heavy equipment

If a guy wants everyone to walk right by his car at a show, build a Milner 32 coupe. If a guy wants everybody to check his ride out at a show, build a rat rod

So what’s the problem?

Ratrods should be built by the owners and their friends because it's an art piece that expresses the attitude of the builder. I've built 3 ratrods. My favorite is my 79 Ram crew cab dually flatbed with the drive train pulled out of a school bus. It's a semi disguised as a pick-up. Satin black, flat black trim, flat powder coated push bars and headache rack, stackpipes 4 feet above the roof with propane flamethrowers, and neon green accent lights all around. I've even got train horns mounted on the roof. I use it as my company truck to pull heavy equipment. I haul my trailer queen show car with it and it gets more looks than my award winning show car (71 Plymouth satellite)

I gave up on my observations about those titles ads a while back and I get the impression pretty much ALL of the mainstream channels have been told to take them on as sponsors or lose future sponsorships (Thats what I believe, its not a validated theory)... regardless of the ad, the vid ain't bad

When I see the money put into one, my first thought is " that much money, and it still has rust,and you have to worry about whether your tetanus shot is up to date? "

Ratrods, still the coolest things on four wheels IMO and beats the hell outa these Polaris razor buggy things that are scootin around!🤮🤮

@@justincooper5189 the rusty look is part of the fun as they don't look anything special but often have powerful V8 engines or a high power/torque diesel engine so can beat a more polished car from the lights

Rat rods are built from scrap parts of cars and bits and pieces that are lying about the place so the cars are rat rods - they are just good quality versions. The price is because of who's making the car - it adds some provenance / prestige to the vehicle. As for their road worthyness they are very road worthy and get used a lot - they've even been in a music video
