Wonderful video. Exactly what I needed. 👍🏼 I've been flying a DJI Spark for a couple years & just got an Eachine x220 Wizard for Christmas. You answered several questions I had. Keep the videos coming.
The channel I been looking for. I just bought a wizard and full fpv kit. I have flown some fast quads but not race quads. I was doing acro on my second flight. I thought it was going to be much more difficult. I love it, I love it, i LOVE it!!
Thanks a ton for making this video. I have toy drone experience (have owned several toy camera drones in the $100 range) and a mini-indoor race drone to learn throttle management with. Wife said I could spend $300 on a drone, so I got a Wizard X220, some decent $80 FPV goggles, and some spare batteries. I feel like I'm ready to learn. Also, I'm 35 and have 30 years of videogame experience, lol. That should help.
Good work on the video. I'm glad you're putting out good info for beginners. I bought the Eachine ex110, and I knew nothing about betaflight, etc. It was only due to a great RC community that I was able to get it in the air, since it didn't come with any manual. Great learning experience though.
I'm kinda new to FPV n I just want give 2 tips. When placing your 2.4ghz antennas don't place them to close to your video 5.8ghz antenna. Also before you plug your battery into the quad make sure the 5.8ghz FPV antenna is screwed on cuz you fry your vtx. Good video man n good concept of making it foir beginers.
I'm looking forward to my wizard x220 to arrive. Thx for the tips but why is it important that the2.4 and the 5.8 antennas shouldn't be close to each other?
Ok sure. Thx for the fast answers. The only reason I'm afraid of this parallel setup at the back is that I heard from other people that the signal will be better if we set up the 2 antennas about 45-90 degrees from each other, so there's always an almost parallel position antenna to your transmitter when the quad is tilting. But once again I haven't ever flied a drone, so I will ask everybody. :D
Glad to have found your videos. I'm just starting out with fpv and I ordered the wizard just yesterday :) I have to agree with some of your points about the other youtubers taking a lot of the specifics for granted as they've been around the block for a while. Like I've already learned there's quite a few extra stuff you need to build a quad, even from a kit. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of your "vids for noobs"!
I like many out there is new to the hobby, I have flown some but not enough experience to fly the eachines x220 which is on my list to buy along with the radio and fpv goggles, glad I found your channel. subscribed
The toy grade quads are actually way more durable than you would think and you can replace parts on those same as you can the hobby grade. They actually sell 'crash kits' just for such occasions but lucky I haven't had too many bad crashes in the last year I've been flying
Racekraft Props are the best props I've ever used!!!! they last a multitude of crashes! if they bend.. bend it back and you're good! I broke an arm on my quad (a video I'll be posting soon) into a tree and I'm still running those props lol
Hey man just wanted to say thank for this video. I was literally in the exact situation that you described in this video, just sitting and waiting for my Wizard to come in. This video had ALL the information I could have possible wanted. I'll be ordering some dalprops soon per your recommendation. Keep the videos up man, you're right there are a ton of people getting into the hobby.
I have been learning on a Hubsan x4 and Syma x5c love it. Both of these are really durable "toy" quads. I am looking at the wizard as my first "hobby" grade quad. Thanks for the video.
New to the hobby as well. I appreciate the vid, going to be ordering my wizard this weekend. I practiced with a sky viper racer and micro quad for those rainy days.
Great video! Subscribed. Not a total noob, been flying toy quads for the last two months just to get the feel, but your right wish I hadn't wasted my money on the toys. Ohh well. The Inductrix got me started in FPV and I plan on getting something bigger for outdoor flying. This looks to be a good choice. Thanks for the vid, keep the noob content coming. I find that when talking (or watching RU-vid vids) to some of the experienced RC flyers, they forget what it was like to be a noob and talk way over your head.
If it's possible, for anyone who's literally never flown before or has any idea about quads/drones... i would highly suggest (if possible) to buy a DJI phantom first. For 3 good reasons. just a phantom 3 std is plenty. #1- This allows the gps failsafes, like Return to home and just hovering in place while you figure out your next move lol but gps can be disabled for a self leveling mode. #2- once you get an fpv quad, now you have a phantom to use in recovery operations ;) #3- it's a good 'camera platform' drone! Chances are your not a pro and take most pics with your phone so the P3 std camera is plenty good enough!
Great video! Waiting for mine :) However you should probably show the basics of setting this boy up in the betaflight configurator ESPECIALLY how to bind ARM to an auxillary switch (and how to set that up in the FS-i6), because arming with a stick is NOT a safe way... Keep it up!
Currently still in China. They had Chinese New Year's, so I'm assuming they close down their postal service for the holidays. Which, I'm glad I ordered when I did, because they're already out of stock again.
Awwww yeaaaaah. Mini quads are the shit. I got the EV800's for my first goggles. I'm a broke bitch, I can't afford the nice, fancy stuff yet. I remember when I first heard about the sport, I googled FPV quads and they were like $500-600 for an RTF and I was like "I'll never be able to afford one!" But look at me now. Gonna be swagging out all over the place. My refund came in today too. I might look into getting a GoPro Session. I wanna make cool freestyle vids. I haven't seen any other female pilots yet really (besides Zoe FPV and FPV FlyGirl) and it's kinda depressing. I wanna make a name for myself, ya know?
I'm down south, northern Alabama. And me too! I have 2 toy quads, a mini and larger stunt one, (used to be 3 xD) that I've been flying for over a year now so I'm confident I won't immediately crash. Did yours come with the two flight modes? I'm seeing some people say there's didn't and I'm a little worried because the one thing I don't want to do is program/tune anything right out of the box and mess it up.
Went ahead and shelled out the money for a GoPro Hero Session. Super excited, should be here tomorrow cause I ordered through Amazon and paid for one day shipping because I'm impatient. Might stick it to my stunt drone and see how it does. xD
Look in to Armattan there covered with a life time warranty! There tilt hex is a trip! I got one & have had nothing but good things to say about it & the company Chris the owner is awesome & will help you find the right starter for you! ! !
A few tips more on what to had on the shopping list, Lipo alarms, I just learn they do even a 3 in one, lipo low voltage and lost buzzer and lost of connection... For charging 2,3,4... Lipos at the same time with a good charger like you said a parallel board...
Hey, Loving the videos. Any chance doing some more videos on the eachine wizard x220? Like adding the runcam 2 with onscreen display or adding a battery buzzer? Cheers
when you start flying acro you will want you 2 rx antennae at 90 deg. from each other for best reception. Best is one straight out the back and one going vertical.
Great advice bro! Noobsrus as they say so any info is good info! Love it that you have the balls to set all this up on RU-vid! So I for one do appreciate everything you bring up and show your fellow noobs!😜👌🥇 And yes you know what all the haters can do don't you?🤔🤔🤔😡😡😜😜😜😜😜🥇👏👏👏👏👌👌👌👌👌👌
U need to have close up vid when needed. I guess even video editing is a noob . but ur doing this great ! A lot of flyers will sugest a lot of things that are frustrating to hear. Great man !!
Nice videos! I plan on doing this same exact thing haha cus I was in the same boat! Dont arm with stick tho. If your way high up and go to yaw at 0 throttle... you just disarmed it and she gonna falll out of the sky.
At around 5:45, when he says just take it off, he means taking the entire VTX off, not just the antenna. I was a little confused and had to rewatch that part.
This may explain the prop rotation easier ....the props on the front of the quad turn IN towards the center.....the props in the back turn OUT from the center....hope that helps a little. I have a very simple pic but i can't post it here
I know what you mean, but what you're saying depends on what part of the prop you're looking at. The furthest forward blade on the front left might travel towards the body of the quad (or in as you said) but at the same time the blade pointing towards the quad will be travelling outwards.
Yesterday my x220 arrived, but i didnt even get it to fly... as soon as i put on the batterie, one of the ESC burned out... i ordered 2 new ones and am waiting now for them to arrive, but im pretty sad and pissed.
If I may ask. What vtx were you using. I broke mine today with just a little crash😒 and since I'm just flying LOS, I just removed the whole thing. Lol! Also was your RX soldered to your board? I did this today as well to cut down on delay. Lastly, what camera were you using for fpv? Thanks for all your insight and knowledge bro😉😊😁
Hmm that's alot of info man. It's been a long time since I've used any of those parts. Right now I recommend the foxeer micro can with built in osd, the unify pro high voltage version, and I use the xm+ Rx connected with wires to my board. But that Rx is for frsky not flysky
Since your learning this thing so well . You should do a noobs perspective on adding a kill switch and setting up the f6 controller. I'm diggin the show.
Hey I just noticed my modded Eachine Wizard has the same exact prop coloration as yours. Cheers! Plus I put the antennas through the zip ties on the esc's so they are at a 90degree angle
Ok I have been doing this hobby for many years, the reason we say start with a toy is more of the power and performance learning curve. but now they have smaller crafts like 110mm scale stuff that many of us are not used to that are great for learning, and far from a toy. That wizard is so powerful that if a beginner looses control of it it can and possible will hurt someone, were a 110mm quad would hurt but a lot less.
Hei Noob-Tube Can you pleas put the links for the simulators in the description? And if it's possible also the "buying" link from the computer cable and your charger? Thanks for the videos!
Thanks for the video. Helped me from small things. Thanks. I have a question too: I have in betaflight put the arm function to channel 5 or 6. Didn't know about this left down/right function. How to set it up or is arm on a channel better?
TheFPVnoobtube you are cracy men ;-) after seconds a response. Thanks. So I feel good to have arm and disarm on channel 5. Like your channel right from the name..... Thanks.
If you have dual receiver antennas one should be horizontal and one should be vertical or you defeat the purpose of having two antennas, and having diversity.
hi, I'm a noob as well, however you have to careful about what information you're putting out on your channel... you shouldn't just attach your antenas any old way, for best results they should be at 90degree angles to each other.
Is that charger any good? i'm really interested in getting it because its so cheap and it comes with a power supply, although a lot of the reviews on amazon say that the psu has melted, have you had any issues with it? and if not how long does it take to charge one of those 1500mah 3s batteries with it? thx :D
Hi I recently just stopped using the charger and gave it to my dad, he is still using it! The charge time depends on how fast you make it charge, but you can expect around 30-40 minutes per battery
I bought the 220 wizard drone kit ready to fly and I paired the controller to the drone but when it’s turned on it won’t fly I’m a beginning and I don’t really get it
I brought the star wars xwing as my first drone and use drl sim with my xbox one controller. Im pretty good so far but as my drone collectors havent n dont wanna fly it much lol.qx7 n sim for a little bit. That qx95 looks fiddly to fix.cool but fiddly. You seen those kylin fpv goggles? Under 100 pound and bigger fov than hd2's.huge but cheap lol.this noob stage frustrating as hell.
I'm no expert at flying drones but ya know when ya know ya can just do something, that's me. :-). I'm finding the fb group very informative and the guys are great. I've noticed nearly all good drones are on back order at the moment. I've been sold on the tyrant 215 s,damn thing is sexy.lol.as soon as I get my radio n drone I'll post step by step videos of my first flight etc.headset I can go cheap. Just the go pro going to do me.jeez they cost more than drone and radio combined.:-(. Dvr headset is the way or do u recommended anything pal?
Thanks for your video I'm a noob I do have the cheap eachine e010 and I love it and just bought the same one you have here so thanks for in the info. I had no idea how the props needed to go because I put mine on the little one backwards plenty of times. But what size battery do I need
A 3s 1300 or 1500 mAh battery is okay to start off with. Most will say to go straight to 4s but I think at least learning to fly a bit on. 3s is okay. Just don't buy a bunch of them because you will quickly outgrow them
Don't be sticking bits of plastic in your motors so you can tighten nuts. Get a pair of Realacc Motor Grip Pliers For RC Models from banggood or of eBay. Cost about $8. Not worth damaging your motors.
can you do video on how to set up the 220 if you already have a radio. I bought just the quad and all its doing is collecting dust because I don't know how to install the receiver.
i have a spectrum and taranis radio so any input on set up of either one would help. thanks for your time. just found your channel . i was as frustrated as you on this 220. keep up the great content
