I know this video is like 4 years old now but I wanted to say I had the pleasure of trying one of these on an SG and I was really impressed! I NEED a whammy on every guitar, and I've been through Kahlers, Floyds, Strats and even a Bigsby. I'm really happy with the Gotoh on my Suhr but having just discovered the Stetsbar I'm goin to slap one on my old SG! ... and there was great rejoicing. Cheers from Arizona!
Hi! I just ourchased a Stetsbar but it hasn't been delivered yet, it's the S-Style that is supposed to replace the existring strat vibrato. The reason I bought it is that the strat vibrato is WAY too dramatic of a pitch change for me, i'm used to the Jazzmaster vibrato. Would you say that the Stetsbar is closer in pitch change feel to a Jazzmaster? You said that it is Bigsby-esque, which gives me hope. Thanks
How do you deal with bendings? I have one on my guitar and I hate it, every time I bend the bridge moves and to get one tone bend i have to pull one tone and half. Plus the sustain is not really great
Thanx buddy, seems better that the expansive Floyd Rose. Is it cheaper, right? Is it also easier to set up...right? And smaller, .... There is a third alternative? Thanx
There is some Schaller i think, and also some Floyd Rose, both can be instaled without new holes. The Schaller is cheaper but i don't think it's better.
If your nut slots are well-cut the strings won't "bind" in the nut slots, you can add a bit of lubrication such as "Big Bends nut sauce" to make the slots even more slippery... On my guitars I replaced the stock nuts with tusq nuts because they are harder, produce more sustain and they're 1000 times more slippery than graphite... Most of my guitars also have locking tuners... So the combination of the Stetsbar, tusq nuts and locking tuners make my guitars extremely stable... If you used a locking nut with the Stetsbar you wouldn't be able to fine-tune your strings once they're locked at the nut since the Stetsbar doesn't have fine-tuners like a Floyd Rose for instance...
Does somebody where could I find just the lever of this bridge? I have this bridge but I lost the lever. Could I use another kind of lever? Does somebody know something about it? It was amazing!
Great video, informative and insightful!I once owned A RDArtist,It had compression and expansion byMoog.they're remaking them now!Great camera work by the way!(Give your camera person thanks from me!)
If you want to see what it looked like before the Stetsbar check this out ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3k1sYOK01eQ.html The guitar was a write off and the bridge helped a lot in saving it.
