That's the thing, it's not only white people behind her. I'm not white, not even from the US, and I like her precisely for what you said, she plays basketball, elevates her teammates, is not supporting any agenda. Well said.
EXACTLY!! Seeing as you are from the Des Moines area, another complaint you should address is how the people who cover the WNBA keep saying that it took a while for Caitlin to play like the women on the Fever team. I’ve been arguing about this since the tenth game of the season. It wasn’t CC who needed to learn how to play, it was the team that had to learn to play HER way. Go back to her college years. That’s how she played/plays. She has ALWAYS played this way. Credit where credit is due. The girl is a superstar, and I’ve never watched a player who so fully understands how the game should be played!!! Whew! Got that off my chest.
The only problem with that is you will win or lose based on that player's performance. It's a team sport, and only a team will win a championship together. Her college career is a great example of that.
@@djlove9597 My point was that she didn’t have to learn to play their game. If she would have, they would have been bottom dwellers in the conference….again. The TEAM needed to learn how to play winning basketball. You assumed I was giving all the credit to Caitlin. She helped bring out the capabilities of ALL the players on their team. Playing winning basketball doesn’t mean you have to win a championship. So you’re saying the Iowa team were losers twice because they didn’t win a national championship? You should probably ask Gabby or Hannah or Kate or Sidney or……How about you ask the girls on the 1400 different NCAA women’s basketball teams if they feel like they are losers. I’m definitely not an “everyone gets a trophy” guy, but there was/are a LOT of girls who are winners. I’m sorry you think there are only 14 winners in women’s basketball!!
Thank you, well put. I have a group I follow now, Temi, Lexie, Kelsey and CC. There are a few angry, jealous and envious players in the WNBA who lash out.
Dude! Thank you from a new CC fan. Please please please continue to follow up on topics such as this as it relates to CC. The W players needs to make this about basketball FIRST at least that’s what the Welcome to the W commercial try’s to get across. Thank you Sir!
Spot on... We want sports, not political activism. Every time a sport wades into the divisiveness of politics it suffers a short term loss of credibility, fans, and ultimately money. The conversation turns to heavy scrutiny on who is running the particular league and who is trying to wrestle the power of the sport to a particular side. The good thing is that by doing this, they shine a light on who they are and most of the time they take a social hit that stays with them long after they get the unsustainable adrenaline rush of media hype. They fall out of the newscycle that heaps accolades upon their devotion to the divisive causes but then quickly move on, because all they are is a pawn in a power game. But, the real social hit continues for that player. Fans have a longer memory for the players that say unfair things about them or socialize bad takes, false inferences, or leverage their position to score dunks on "the other side". Those scorned fans will continue to haunt them long after the empty calories of cheap media praise leaves them, famished and ignored. This is why you see "has been" athletes and celebrities try desperately to stay in the popular discourse by parroting the mantras of the ultra orthodox gatekeepers of one side of politics, because to be ignored is to accept that you are quickly gonna be cast aside and broke.
Wow! Give this man raise, he’s so right. 👍🏽👏🏽 I hope to see more reports now that Caitlin Clark will be playing golf. Thank you #TeamCaitlinClark 😌🙏🏽❤️👩🏻⛳️🌟🕊️

I'm not from the US nor live there and never ever watched WNBA yet, about 3 months ago, CC22 entered my YT radar and I quickly became her fan as well as a Fever fan. I now follow CC, LH, KM, AB, and the Fever squad. I dislike the aggression and unfair treatment she gets from the WNBA thuggish egotistical witches.
The “who looks like them” is such a dodge. As a young person, you can have ANYONE as your favorite athlete. You don’t need them to “look like you” AT ALL. As a young white athlete from the Great White North (MN), my favorite athletes were Tony Olivia, Rod Carew, Gale Sayers (probably favorite all-time), Bill Russell and Alan Page, part of the Purple People Eaters (Marshall, Page, Eller, and the forgotten one, Larsen). All black. Didn’t even occur to me that I “didn’t look like them.” I just idolized them. This “looks like me” is a myth made up to push non-white and female athletes forward, many in sports where they are already dominant. Just one question: did CC look at the WNBA, mostly black players, and the NBA, mostly black players, and say “I’ll go into soccer or golf” or whatever because those sports had more players who “looked like her?” NO. She’s a baller. She idolized black players and white players, males and females. She thought of them when she practiced for HOURS. Face it, she’s in a league that not only “doesn’t look like her,” it actively (as Plum noted) went out to hurt her. Just my two cent rant… 😅
I watched Caitlin at Iowa, I am Texan. Her play was what drew me. So I am a Fever fan now, and as in other sports I stop watching when my team is out. It is just how it is. I have added Boston, Mitchell, Fagbengle, Hull to players I like to watch play. I would like Sophie Cunningham if she were Fever. I do enjoy Arike on the Wings. If the league and the media force Caitlin to go to EU team, I become fan of her team. The hypocrisy of the media, you must not be a fan based on one race, but if you besmirch that race you are welcome. Seems they misunderstood what racism is. Go Fever!
If the NBA didn't supplement this league it would have folded after a few years like the USFL & XFL. The WNBA has never made a profit and now we understand why that happened!
Yeah. CC should have asked permission from AJ before taking each shot. CC needs to learn how to play within their structures and play under the entourages and dictatorships and swear subservience to the so-called OG's. Yeah, for the first time in my life, I jumped on the WNBA bandwagon. All it took was 4 weeks of watching this circus. I'm off the bandwagon. I'll watch something professional instead that has about a 1/4 the drama!
WTF do yall want, a red carpet rolled out for her before every game? Do you want them to continually thank her and the 2024 rookie class for bringing more eyeballs to the league. Should they pay her more because of the new money that they are bringing in? Special treatment? Free massages? What?!? What special treatment did MJ or Bird get? Nobody should be expected to bow before another human just because they are great at a sport and decide to play with you. You guys need to check your pride at the door. She has gotten plenty of recognition.
WTF do we want??? --- red carpet? no, it doesn't match the clothes -- thanks and the rookie class?? maybe saying "thank you" as an acknowledgement of more eyeballs watching WNBA because after all, isn't that why they are all playing? -- special treatment?? -- hell yes!!! special as in not getting the crap beat out of her and having refs actually CALL a FOUL. If that is special then I am all for it!! -- there is a difference to playing a sport and getting beat up in a sport. Hard physical contact is NOT part of basketball. There is a huge difference between making a play and deliberately assaulting a player; even football has severe penalties for targeting, or hitting the QB after a pass is thrown or catching a ball after a punt (ever heard of a "fair catch") -- you need to check your glasses when watching (ie - put them on and see what is really going on) vs this whining you are doing. We get it you don't like Caitlin for (insert reason here) but that is no reason to be intentionally blind to what has been happening. -- she has received plenty of recognition -- and why not?? She has *earned* it all!! She has broken or set 62 records in her rookie year - if all the other players were so "professional" why haven't they set those records prior to Caitlin. No one is stopping ANYONE else from doing the same and getting their own recognition. -- did MJ or Bird get special treatment? -- nope, what they DID get was the other players in the league weren't PETTY or jealous. Other players recognized talent and respected it, for some reason most women don't seem to be able to acknowledge that fact. It is OK for someone to be better than you, that is why they give gold medals in the Olympics; people need to get over that fact.
@sparkyman8249 nice page turner. I'll try to be brief. If everyone all over the U.S. talking about you isn't enough to satisfy your ego, then it's too big. I'm sure Caitlin's is not, but the public's is. I have plenty of respect for her. I actually have no problem with her. It's mostly the crazed fans and media. If anything happens to her in a game that yall don't like, it's off with their head. Angel Reese got choke slammed, and it was forgotten in a day. Carter's hip check on Caitlin has been talked about all season. Why is that? I do agree that she has taken some flagrants that should have been addressed by the league. They failed on that aspect. I also know that the fouls yall scream about are happening all over the league, and the refs take care of most of them. Caitlin is a big girl. She can handle them. If you don't think Jordan and Bird didn't have people who targeted and were jealous of them, then you just started watching basketball. They still have people jealous of them til this day. Just watch some games on the internet. Hard fouls back then were the norm. The WNBA does not owe Caitlin a thank you or special treatment for bringing more eyes to the league, and I bet she doesn't want or need it. She chose to be drafted. She knew what she signed up for. Yall should just be glad you got to watch her in your lifetime.
Spot on dude and believe me there are a shitload of us in TEXAS that love this young lady she is the real deal our team actually sucks they play like knuckle draggers thugs
