Are we supposed to believe that someone would buy a clear license plate cover because they want to protect the plate from damage? A clear cover is still made of highly reflective plastic, which could cause a glare, thereby causing the camera to not be able to read your plate. The ones who buy these things are the ones who go out of their way to avoid toll cameras or red light cameras, you know, the ones who believe that the laws don't apply to them. When toll booths were run by actual people and cops were the ones fining people for running red lights, no one covered their plates.

Why do you need something that purposely obstructs the identification of your vehicle? If a crime is committed involving a car and it can't be identified - that's bad. Window tint looks cool, but it also serves a purpose. The plate blending better into the look of the car is the only argument I can think of for these covers. If there's a hit-and-run, someone's driving dangerously, whatever - the vehicle needs to be identifiable. That's why we have license plates.

The purpose of this to those clueless on in the comments, is to block toll cameras!!!!! It’s not so that others can’t read your plate! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hands down, one of the lowest forms of human driving behavior to obscure your license plate, effectively allowing you to avoid identification at toll sections. Worse, in hit and run accidents where they won’t be held responsible for their actions. Just more arrogant, shameless entitlement of people who feel the laws don’t pertain to them. And it’s typically the expensive cars that engage in this practice. NY is cracking down on this behavior and impounding cars. Good. No one should be above the law. Maybe impounded vehicles with expensive charges will help change this behavior.

Well said. I saw one the other day where the license plate was in the back window partially obscured with a paper and the VIN partially obstructed with a road map. Absolute scum.

@@seminole111 I don’t know what you mean by that but I avoid toll rolls at all costs and when I do I bring my bike rack if you catch my drift. When my city introduced red light cameras I was active in trying to take them down along with many other like-minded individuals and we were successful through letters and petitions. Tolls are an invasion of privacy and an attempt by government to monopolize a public resource when our money already pays for these roads.

You wanna know what drives me crazy? You telling us we have a President Elect when we have not elected one yet! 👎

Now we have a President who was not elected and he has destroyed the economy and taking us into another pointless war that will get Americans killed and is destroying the livelihood of Americans once again and I 100% guarantee you the reason is to force the hand of auto manufactuerers to leave gas behind and make electric vehicles. I bet you $2000 that's what is being this asshat's administration's closing of all domestic oil drilling and banning Russia's oil etc. etc. It's not about what they say it's about their green new deal which should see them all convicted of treason.

What I'm wondering is even if though the cover is completely clear and you can totally read the license plate and I'm pretty sure cameras can too.. Will cops still give you a ticket for just having one on period. Coz we know that cops don't seem to like to get into technical things like "is it really obscuring the license" and then some states they say NOTHING can cover the license plate regardless of anything .. but when you buy a new car the temp tag is laminated which is clear plastic covering the tag soooo..... These videos really don't help coz usually it's only telling you in one location.
