I'm 70 years old. For some reason, at this time in my life, I have problems with electric openers and even openers like yours. I use one of the old church key openers (with the point and the hook) like my grandmothers did back in the 1950's. Works great.
I have some of the key can openers. That's the one I grew up with. I looked like a dummy trying to use a manual one, the first time...lol. That the one I use now. I never used a electric can opener...😃
I just found your channel today and everything looks so good. I wanted to tell you that I have been married for 46 years and have always made garlic toast like you did😊 and I still use a hand held can opener..
Recipes are great my husband isn’t a fan of ricotta either so I add cottage cheese as a replacement……he likes that better..lol thanks so much for sharing
The meal looks delicious but unfortunately family will not eat meatballs so I will use a beef roast and cook it until it falls apart and do the rest like you did. Thank you for the different meals you put together
Manual can opener for me but I want an electric one eventually! And I LOVE sour cream 😋 we usually do a salad with our Swedish meatballs. We prefer cottage cheese in our lasagna over ricotta! All of these recipes looked so good!!
Great ideas, I make my lasagna in the oven I always doctor up jar sauce first I cook a pack of hot Italian sausages in olive oil and onions then the jar sauce add 2 tablespoons of Italian seasoning garlic powder half a teaspoon, a pinch of sugar salt and pepper instead of ricotta I use cottage cheese 2 pounds of mozzarella cheese and half bottle of Parmesan cheese flavor your cheese mixture with garlic powder Italian seasoning salt and pepper my lasagna usually weighs between 5 to 8 pounds it’s so delicious and my family loves it for the holidays 👍🙏🌈🦋😋😋
Was just gonna compliment you on having the recipes in the See More section so we can copy them down and then watch the videos. Thanks again ! BTW, I have an electric can opener but use a manual one as hubby used the elec. can opener to open cat food every day. It is on the back porch now. Much easier to wash the manual one. LOL !
I LOVE ricotta cheese.. I always put at least double the amount a recipe calls for... I absolutely HATE cottage cheese, but I can eat ricotta cheese by itself, with some salt and pepper!
We use a can opener just like yours. Use your electric hand mixer to shred cooked chicken. It works great, and is much easier and faster. I want to try all 3 recipes!😋
That’s how I always shred my chicken lol I just didn’t want to do it like that in the crockpot but I probably will next time. It would have turned out better.
I find that putting the cheese filling in a large Ziploc baggie and piping it on like you do onto a cake like they do with the frosting gives you better control on the disbursement of the cheese.
I use the can opener from Pampered Chef. Not only does it take up a lot less room, but you can wash it in the dishwasher as well...and bonus no sharp edges! Also I make a lasagna soup recipe instead of plain lasagna. I do use ricotta in mine as well!
♥️ty for some new recipes! I have made the crockpot lasagna before and it is delicious and so easy. I don’t care for ricotta cheese either, so I substitute cottage cheese instead and it still tastes really good.
Great recipe ideas! For the last one, I think I might add a few cubes of cut up Velveeta to thicken instead of the quesa and maybe some Rotel. Could perhaps be used for tacos?
We still use a manual can opener Tip for the chicken nachos...we only use a jar of salsa and a package of taco seasoning. No extra liquid. And even at that we usually end up draining off some extra liquid at the end.
For the meatballs, since it’s more of a brown gravy I think golden mushroom, or even cream of mushroom, would be a much better addition than the cream of chicken. Golden mushroom would be spectacular to increase the ‘umami’ flavor. I’d probably even throw in some sliced mushrooms or canned mushrooms.
I use a manual can opener still too! I love dump and go recipes :) Crock pot chicken nachos looked so good! We love Mexican food in our house! I just uploaded my buffalo ranch chicken quesadilla recipe and it was so good!
My kids don’t like ricotta cheese either so I just double the mozzarella cheese and they love it like that! Lasagna has been both their birthday dinner choice since they were really little- they are 45 42 now!!!!
I still use that exact style can opener after many years. my original reason was it didnt take room up on the counter but , i love it anyways. Over the years i found out it was worth buying the higher end one which was still under $20. thanks, great recipes !!!!
I never liked lasagna growing up because of the ricotta cheese. Now as an adult i make it all the time using cottage cheese instead of the ricotta cheese and its delicious! We make it several times a month.
Oh yeah! Thanks so much for these crockpot meals!!!! Electric can opener. Love lasagna but my husband hates it because of ricotta cheese. I have substituted cottage cheese & he still won’t eat it. I only fix lasagna when my grown children & families visit for a weekend.
Love these recipes Makenzie! I do not like ricotta cheese either that's why I don't like lasagna and I use a manual can opener too. I'm too afraid of the electric one. Everything looks good!
I wonder if u can use fully cooked homemade meatballs my family don't like frozen meatballs but I do please tell me if I can cause I will make it for all of us
I use a manual can opener. I use cottage cheese in place of the Ricotta ....I have a grown daughter that hates cottage cheese....I throw it in the blender before I put it in the Lasagna and she has never caught on...lol. Enjoyed your video, and have to make those meatballs!!!
If your not a sour cream fan but enjoy french onion chip dip, try replacing the sour cream with dip. I love sour cream but my step mom doesn't so that's what she always has done and I continue to do in my beef stroganoff
Love your crock pot dinners! The Swish Meatballs look wonderful. What kind of short bread cookies were those? We’re they from a Target? I don’t like Ricotta Cheese either, so I take a 24 oz container of cottage and blend it in the blender or food processor with salt, pepper, parsley, and Parmesan cheese. So you can try that if Alex doesn’t like a Ricotta.
It depends on whether I have ricotta cheese in the house that day. The only time I ever made lasagna in the slow cooker it got way to dry. So I only cook it in the oven.
My dad hates Swedish meatballs but I'm gonna make these, tell him its something else and see what he says then.😋 still use the hand can opener, electric one took up to much counter space. Stay safe. Love much.
Hello friend! I’m new here! Thanks for the dinner inspo! I also make what’s for dinners and I absolutely love trying new things!!! U got a friend in me! Can’t wait to see more!!!
I like my Tasty brand manual can opener! It’s the best in my opinion. Got it at Walmart. Not a fan of ricotta cheese. I use cottage cheese instead. It’s yummy. Everything looks delicious! Thanks for sharing!
Not a fan of A1 sauce. I would substitute Kitchen Bouquet to see how that would do. Everything else seems yummy. Thanks for sharing. (I use a manual can opener or the sharp end of a beer can/bottle opener for the broth.)
