Remnant conference: Syracuse, Boston College, UConn, Duke, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, USF, Tulane, SMU, SDSU, Cal, Stanford, Oregon State, Washington State.

I believe that is what the new ACC will probably look like in the future with potential 2-4 other schools as well.

If UConn had Big 12 or Big Ten football money, its football program would be fine. They're probably not going to the CFP any time soon, but they could be a middle of the pack team in those conferences with the same resources. Their athletic department operates on a high level.

Not trolling but not a chance in heaven or hell would UCONN or UCANT (as I call them) be able to be better than dead last in any FBS competition conference; be it A4 or G5/6. That is absolutely garbage to talk about how if UCONN (UCANT) had Autonomy money would be in the middle of the road football program. Not a chance in hell would they be able to post a 6-6 season let alone better in a True Power Conference. They were all in as full members of the AAC and couldn’t cut it in most sports; except Women’s basketball. They may end up being in the ACC as full members. But I don’t expect them to ever post 8-9 wins a season in the ACC during regular season play. If the NCAA and College Football Association keeps the bowl games and system as a collective whole, then maybe UConn could oust 8-9 wins. But it would have that shit shot at a 9-win season every 7-8 years or so if everything falls through and just right for them. In the original AAC as the Old Big East Conference and real Big East Conference before becoming the American Athletic Conference, UCANT posted a few 8 win seasons in regular season play and two 9 wins’ seasons if not mistaken. But the 9th win came in a bowl game victory; not 9wins going into the bowl game. They never ever threatened to win 10 games in a regular or bowl season. Most of that brutal competition in football and other sports are now in either the ACC or Big12 with some still in the AAC. What in their warped world, knuckleheads, idiotic mind of believing makes them or anyone else think they would do better a second or third go-around against those same schools and teams with more money to just lose more? What I ask you?

@@michaelwall3393 I said they could finish in the middle of the pack in any of those conferences. As you said, they previously finished with seven or eight wins in a season in the Big East which was a power conference. If they did that again they would firmly be in the middle of such a conference. It sounds to me like, other than some belittling language, you agree with me.

There may be the possibility of a Big East merger with a bigger conference. That way the Big East could be part of a Eastern or Northeast division within the larger conference. They would not lose their traditional rivalries or recruiting territories. The BIG10 or ACC would love to have their conference championships in Madison Square Garden!

No football league will merge in any way with a basketball league. Makes no sense. The Big East started that way and it eventually exploded.

If either the Big 12 or ACC calls, UConn would be fools not to go. Period. Depending on what happens with the CFP, it may become difficult for UConn to schedule in the future. The B1G Commish appears to be on a quest to eliminate schools like UConn from B1G non-con schedules. He may be able through the CFP to influence the ACC and SEC to do the same.

Geno already tried getting into the ACC once before. Muffet gave the thumbs down and the league turned UCONN down. If I were Geno, I'd give the ACC the middle finger if they came a knocking.

UCONN burned a lot of bridges during the collapse of the old BIGEAST. The ACC invited SMU over UCONN. Let that sink in.

@@arthur-ri4zo A not for profit business. The ACC will mostly deplete out from core/original ACC schools, removing historical UCONN supporters and shifting the center of gravity north, making the conference more old BIGEAST (the schools most bitter about UCONN's past actions). Regardless, your earlier comment indicates UCONN should have no interest in joining an ACC rebuild, so mutual disinterest would be optimal.

With possible ACC implosion and teams likely becoming available, zero talk anymore about UConn being invited to Big XII. Even back when that was a thing, it was the same time the rumor was that Gonzaga would be brought over as basketball only. Same would have been for UConn. UConn FB doesn't move the TV viewship needle so the current Big XII schools have zero interest in cutting their TV revenue pie into smaller pieces which is what would happen if UConn was added.
