I actually went inside the former studio, early 2016. At that time the it was used for small concerts, performances & musical gatherings. Very strange to be inside. And yes, the main studio area is indeed about 50 m2; about 4.5-5 meters by 10-12 meters I guess. The 2 windows are actually part of the long 10-12 meter wall.

I was there in early 2003. I knocked on the door and a guy came out. I asked him if the band was inside... When he said "I cannot tell you that" my heart went BOOM! of course they were there, right behind the two windows. And, knowing Kraftwerk, it was an amazing answer!

LOVE these guys! I saw them live at the Ritz in NYC in 1981. Super nice guys...and they brought the whole Kling Klang Studio with them in semi trailers. During the show, Florian Schneider, grinning like a mad scientist, passed around his big TI scientific calculator with a thick cable growing out of it that ran to the nerve center of their rig so the audience could try inputting some notes while they played 'Pocket Calculator!' Kraftwerk is a very cool, tight band, and I think they're as good an example of professionals as any I've encountered.

Just watched your video about Kling Klang. It was fascinating and very informative. I always imagined their studio would have been much more remote and impossible to get near. How exciting to discover they were almost hiding in plain sight. Very cool. Thanks for making the video.

That was a really exciting and cool place back then. Imagine, that the four men arrived here at early night and they leave in the morning, with a tape of a new song in their pocket.

I had an honor to be there in person in april 2016 as a part of student exchange. I was aware that the Kling Klang Studio wasn't there anymore, but didn't know that the former studio rooms were for rent now. Noted the Electro-muller logo above the entrance, I thought that the company still exists and they just had some warehouse there or something :P Thanks for the video, greetings from Poland

Ah bummer! :( I was there for the very first time on January 19, 2013. We took pics outside the gate (it was also closed) and after a while someone came with his car and this person had to be inside, so .... after the gate was open we rushed inside to take some pics. The guy was laughing and he didn't mind. Hopefully next time you have more luck!

I think they would've been more popular if they weren't so secretive. I know many opportunity ands people just simply turned a away cause they never answered the telephone or was extremely difficult to contact them. Just saying as I watched many interview or others and how many missed opportunity what they wanted to offer them etc. Yes many people know them it's true but 10x as many would've if they would been a little more human and humble and outgoing or appreciative to their fans.

Or it has been the same as for Brian, in Life of Brian, who stooped talking in a middle of a sentence and got a lot of followers.. Breaking the norm sometimes is a good thing to keep the mystique up. I think it has been good for them. Who is interested in Art of noise? Pet shop boys?

Kraftwerk pronunciation is ˈkʀaftvɛʁk, with V, not "oo" as google. The same as Schwarzenegger: ˈʃvaɐtsənˌʔɛɡɐ/, with V. "oo" instead of V sounds silly...
