It’s meant to keep you alive and this is a gourmet meal to a soldier as it should be to anyone watching this. That MRE would be some people dream dinner in foreign countries so to have that to our soldiers serving and your pinned down under fire or out in the bush this is an amazing meal! It’s designed to give us our calories and carbs that we need on deployment and I’ll eat MRE every day! You can get very creative with them and they are delicious after a 25 mile hike carrying 70 pounds of gear! Great video
I have heard they are one of the better ones. I think a lot of the stuff comes from the same distributors, and is just marketed differently. There are definitely some that while they will sustain you, taste awful.
Ideally... but I have found that quite often the heater packs are not full strength and it takes longer. And with the fact that you are really just warming it up and not actually cooking anything, it is really a matter of preference. Heck you can eat it cold, but that is kinda like eating cold soup from the can...no thanks!
