Can you make a video on how to deal with your period as a ballet dancer? I find that pads are too bulky and show through the sides of my leotard when we’re doing stretching.

D A N C E R G I R L I've got a similar problem, what I would recommend pulling your underwear up above your leotard's leg line, or maybe trying a tampon, if you're ready.

I wear super thin pads with bikini underwear and they work perfectly fine for 3 hours of dance a day (for me at least 🙃)

i'm a contradancer, and i love seeing what's in your bag and comparing to what's in my bag. i used to carry almost enough to camp out; then a dear one gave me a custom bag that encouraged me to downsize. so now i'm down to a 32-oz water bottle, compact folding umbrella, bandanna (like your hair towel), listerine breath strips, hand sanitizer spray, name badges, a foam rubber frisbee that i use as a hand fan, and my homemade dance shoes (colorful sneaks i've gorilla-glued suede to the front soles of so that i have good support and can pivot when i need to but not slip when i walk on slidey dance floors). i used to carry a lot of the same emergency gear you mention, not to mention spare pairs of shoes, but my back and shoulders are much happier now that i'm carrying less--sometimes, it's a long walk from parking to the actual dance.

My dance bag/duffle gets so heavy. The hairspray, water and shoes...hard to carry over shoulder. Also too heavy to take on a bus to my dance academy. Now I use a backpack with whatever I need for each day and a little bag with all my rollers & stretch bands I keep in my locker with a spare leotard and shoes..very handy. For performance nights I bring the duffle..no choice too much stuff. Lol what we dancers need to carry around.

Please could you do a video, talking about the different muscles and tendons in the body (IT band, hamstring ect.) and which are important to stretch for ballet and how best to do that (foam roller, spiked ball ect.)

I have all this stuff in my bag too but I have every dance shoe all the rollers for your ankles legs and everything else tennis ball hair stuff makeup the block shoes leg warmers water ballet skirt extra clothes ankle weights stretch band notebook headphones my phone pencil first aid kit and so many more things

At my dance studio we all use ankle and wrist weights to help get higher kicks and strengthen our arms i also really recommend knee pads xx

Hi Claudia, I was fascinated by turning and ballet in general when I was five years old (I would literally just spin in my hallway, even though I had no technique I just loved it) and I’ve recently fell back in love with ballet at age 13. I’m going to try to prepare my body during the end of this year and over the holidays before school returns. Which means i’ll be freshly 14 if i start ballet next year. I was wondering if you could create a video or a series on late ballet starters and tricks to catch up to the other girls who have been dancing for much longer, a lot of people fall back into love with ballet or for the first times in their teens and I think it would be very helpful to many girls. You are like me, when I was 7 years old I did ballet then I stopped because a girl in my class said something mean to me. Idk why tho it was probably nothing. Anyway now I am doing dance again next year.

I also did ballet when I was like 5 or so but my mum didn't want me to go on point. Now I'm 11 and I love ballet so much. I'm just scared about what my mum will think about it when I tell her. The thing is that I'm not a flexible guy. It would be cool if Claudia could do a video how to catch up with other girls that have been dancing there whole life.

jerome garcia what I usually do especially with pointe shoes is after I’m done dancing I’ll hang them up to let them air out but if I didn’t have anywhere to hang them at the moment I just use a spray. And honestly for spray you could be extra and get a really fancy one, get a cheap one, or get on from saje natural wellness that is really good that I use. Sorry this was long...

I have a good-smelling soap bar that is tied in an organza bag in the shoe section of my dance bag. It keeps everything smelling like pineapple! You could also use a shoe odor spray, but not for pointe shoes. Always air out your shoes, especially pointe shoes, as soon as you can.

I have a problem.... so I’m going into ninth grade and tryouts for the dance team are tomorrow. But the thing is that I don’t own jazz shoes. I have tried asking a friend to borrow some and she said that none of hers would fit my feet. And that they were too small. I’m scared that the fact that I don’t own jazz shoes will make me not make the team. I haven’t done dance at all in middle school. My mom said that it would be dumb to buy jazz shoes for the tryouts and then not make it and never use them again. What do I do!

_I have a quick suggestion for you (you don’t need to take it into consideration). Maybe you could use a lacrosse ball instead of a tennis ball because a lacrosse ball is harder so it helps more. I am just saying though. Have a wonderful rest of your day or night!
