UPDATE: Please note this is my starter kit, I am aware my foundation shades were not extensive but sometimes you have to start with basics. Also, for those that are against using anything 'drugstore' in your kit, please know a brand name does not automatically dictate the product quality... This kit was comprehensive enough for me to get through my makeup course and practice on friends. I have and always will continue to expand and improve my kit with tried and tested quality products that I trust and love.

I'm a bit late to this video 😅 but I am starting to think about creating my professional makeup kit but don't have the biggest budget so I was wondering how the foundation darkening and lightening drops were? They seem like such a good idea but I'm curious as to whether they change the quality of the foundation and whether you really can match them to most skin tones? This was a great video and really helps when thinking about all the things I need!! 😁❤️

Hiya, I like the lightening and darkening drops and they did affectively work to adjust foundations within 1-3 shades lighter or darker, so long as you are using a liquid foundation it didn’t affect the texture or application. They don’t give a full range because they don’t allow for different undertones, I eventually replaced them with a foundation palette which had a more comprehensive range of colours that you can mix for more tones and shades. However they’re definitely a good place to start when you have a limited budget :)

That’s a great choice! Not to self promote, but I have a review on the RCMA palette on here (longevity of wear and working with the consistency, because it’s quite unique). I can also confirm that it’s a fantastic palette for clients! You can also thin it out with a moisturiser (MAC strobe cream is a favourite of mine) for a lighter applications! X

There are so many pieces that are essential to a kit that you do not have. Foundation palettes, especially HD ones, are the best kind to carry because they have the kind of shade range you need. HD foundations/concealers will not oxidize on you as much as other drugstore foundations. I'm not saying that you cannot use drugstore foundations for a fit, you just really need to have a solid shade range of different tones and shades. Having "brightening" and "darkening" drops are not going to help you change undertones or reach some of the really dark and really light shades. A lot of your kit is solid, cleanliness and organization is really ket, but there are a lot of products that you don't need and you don't have. Spending good money on higher quality products is worth it, because these end up being your tools to create lasting art. Also a lot of the Morphe powders contain Talc in them, and there are a lot of clients that are allergic. I'm pretty sure the RCMA powders are talc free, but some of the morphe face palettes are not the best quality.

As a starter kit I'm really proud of everything I put together on my budget. I've been working out of a kit similar to yours. Recently, (this past Monday) my kit suffered a catastrophic failure at the hands of someone from an airline (one with a triangular emblem on their planes). I've incurred about $765 in loss, and desperately want to avoid this in the future! I've been looking for a case which can hold my compressor on the bottom (so as to not make it top heavy - when filled, my case weighed roughly 19kg), but that my fragile items can be carried without being damaged in shift. I've been told the Züca case is rugged, but it's comparatively quite small. Because I carry a number of solvents, and airbrush liquids in my kit, I'm unable to bring my kit as a carry-on. I'm looking for suggestions as to what might be the best option for my new sfx makeup case... capable of regular flying, and able to withstand the abuse from the airlines (especially those whom consider the observance of, "FRAGILE" stickers to be negligible). While you may not be able to offer a new case suggestion, I can at the very least warn you that your case will likely not hold up well in air travel. Mine only survived 5 flights, and it looked exactly like yours. I loved mine, and I miss it. I just don't want anyone else to have to deal with the same thing I'm going through. It's a nightmare!

Thank you so much! When it’s completely full it is really heavy. It’s lovely and sturdy to protect your makeup if you are able to roll the trolley. If you’ll be lifting a lot (in and out of car, up stairs etc) you may need to look at something lighter x

I will pack as much as I can in the top compartment only, taking this as my carry on. Any liquids that I can't fit in a zip-lock bag will be wrapped up safely and stored in my checked baggage 😊

Thank you for watching. The darkest shade I had in my starter kit matched the skin tone of an Indian/Malay client. There are a huge range of darker skin tones and that, and also a huge range of fairer skin tones than my lightest shade. However this is a starter kit and as such a a place to start. I have, and will continue to, improve and expand my shade range.

Sasha gerelen hey lovely. Mixing foundations/ add lightening & darkening drops to adjust is something you’ll need to do regardless of how many shades you carry 😘

I like your focus on hygiene and the sanitiser sponges etc but I feel that you’re missing many shades of foundation. For a light foundation there are 6-7 colours of light skin 6-7 different colours of medium and even 5-6 colours of medium to dark. Also that LA girl concealer and drugstore foundation isn’t enough. I would rather see you invest in high end and work on your skills and save money for decent products than rush. I didn’t see lipstick or highlight either
