I am a first grade teacher in Washington, DC, and my students make me smile every single day. This week at school has certainly been interesting, to say the least. One moment in particular that made me smile was when, during our 78th lesson this week on how to wash our hands effectively, our school nurse asked the class “When would a good time to wash your hands be?” and one of my students answered “After we pick our noses!” And the rest of the class nodded their heads stoically in agreement. Shoutout to all you other teachers out there doing all that you can to protect your students and ease their fears during this crazy time.

How thankful the beautiful young lady was when I paid for her groceries because she left her form of payment at home. My nephews face when I come home to see him! What makes me smile? My mom always makes me smile. Even when we’re fighting she still manages to find a way to crack me up, she’s truly the rock for me and my two sisters and my dad. She’s struggles with autoimmune diseases so there are days when she can’t leave the house but she will always tries to fix her hair and actually really cares about her hair. She’s been dying to get any one of the Dyson hair tools but just can’t justify the purchase right now. So what would really make me smile?
