The mesh underwear were amazing. Also, take anything from the room, especially diapers they have in the room that are left over when you go to leave. My nurse encouraged us to do so!

For my son we didn't use many outfits other than his going home outfit. We were in the hospital for 5 days, I was thankful for the things I needed for a shower. Also lots of snacks for you and Warren.

I felt like I was dying of heat the entire time in the hospital! They had lowered the AC as low as they could that would still be safe for baby and it wasn’t low enough. I’m very thankful they had a fan for me to use but that is definitely in my hospital this time around!

I was so hot too!

Great call on the boppy-it’s SO helpful for breastfeeding!! The Frida peri bottle is also so much more comfortable and easier to use. Just make sure it’s warm water-lol! I would suggest bringing the adult diapers. They are SO much more comfortable than the mesh underwear and pads. Buy a pack to bring to the hospital and then 1 or 2 to have at home, then just some regular pads for as your bleeding subsides. 😊 SO excited for you!! I’m also a teacher mama to my first daughter born in December. Thrilled for you for this new journey!! It’s the best!

I brought a portable fan and I am so glad I did! It had “arms” that were able to wrap around the side of the bed !

My favorite thing to have in the hospital is my own pillow and blanket! Also, bring a few adult diapers. I didn't think I would like it but I liked to sleep in them. Wishing you the best of luck with labor and delivery 😊

I packed a little fan for myself and I brought my own adult pads. I would pack more diapers and vests for your baby. When I had my son he pooped through all of his vests and my partner had to go home and get more oh and scratch mitts x

They may have begun adult diapers, don't know... they prob don't issue expensive stuff, only pads (they do give those) that can be changed often if need be. They're absorbent lol don't worry and nurses will help/not let you go it alone at first lol.

You will love that numbing spray! I loved the open-ended baby sacques for nighttime-- easier to change the baby. ❤

Yeah, Haaka is for after your milk comes in. But I ended up staying in the hospital longer with my daughter than I did with my son, so you never know. I've never been provided a diaper for postpartum, so if you think you'll want it you should bring it. I wore the mesh underwear in the hospital, but wore a diaper for the ride home and the first couple of days at home. And as other comments mentioned, pack some snacks. Dinner is at like 5, so when you're up in the middle of the night you'll probably get hungry.

Love this video! Sadly I have never given birth so can't give you advice. but I have loved watching your journey. I find it really facinating that you both stay in hospital for a period of time. here in the UK fathers don't stay over, they have to leave at the end of visiting hours I believe, but if the birth goes well then the mother and baby only stay in hospital for between 6 to 24 hours... so it's in and out. (plus it's free)

It’s so interesting how different each country is and how they care for pregnancy/birth! I wish it was free here! 😅

Snacks lol . They do give you baby diapers and diapers for yourself . Take anything they provide you baby at the hospital lol they’re charging you for it alll anyways lol .a lot of other people brought a nursing boppy. Another thing I was given was witch hazel pads and they were handy after birth at home . The big overnight pads were a must for the first few weeks at home . Best wishes && good luck !!!

They have mesh undies like you said. But I found the adult diapers are a little more durable and are nice to have.
@haileykatelynn
@haileykatelynn 2 года назад
Yes I’ve heard that some women very much prefer those to the mesh undies! I will probably pack some just in case.

Ask your nurse to load you up on any supplies they can giving, for yourself too (like extra ice packs, stretchy net underwear, pain spray, any nursing gear they can charge your insurance etc!) and little diapers and wipes…..
@haileykatelynn

That’s a great idea!

The nurse should give you all you need…as for the mesh underwear, they are weird but great for a long while. You could choose a pack of cotton granny panties, also you may want Tucks medicated pads at home too. Oh. I kind of liked having my own cheapie pillows from like Walmart in cheapie pillowcases. The hospital pillows are kind of weird as they are rubberie and don’t have a lot of stuffing. I just tossed them in the car and partner went down and got them once we were settled in room.

We had an HSA, so our experience was opposite - when I go t the bill, I was like, you charged me $10 for 1 Ibuprofen!!! I would have brought my own if I'd known.

I believe that the hospitals provide you with pacifiers. I have heard that some people do not like the hospital's binkies, that is smart to bring your own! I love your vlogs so much! I hope she comes soon!!!!!!!! Can't wait to know her name!

Witch hazel and we liked the diapers way better than the mesh undies. Also bringing a robe will make you feel more comfortable. A sponge and liners for the bra. Also don’t forget shower shoes

Perhaps have a bag with more outfits and nappies (diapers) in the car, just in case you run low/need a top up.

have you thought of snacks for you as a breastfeeding momma? you will burn calories adjusting to the pace of nursing. Plus not many things are open at night and i dont know covid guidelines where you are with hubby coming in and out.

Yes yes yes to snacks. I loved having my favorite dried mango, especially since it is something you can't find in the vending machines.

My hospital did not provide adult diapers. Just the mesh underwear and giant pads.

Also you might want an outfit for yourself in case your daughter is in the nursery and you need to walk through public space to get to her.

What about some socks? Slippers are great, but you may want socks in bed, if you are cold.

Not for me, but for my husband. He is so glad he had slipped and warm clothes. I was so hot after giving birth and had the AC cranked and fans on. He is glad he had warm clothes even though it was summer. Side note..just realized I’m late to this video and it’s possible you’ve already gone to the hospital or given birth!!

They will give you diapers and wipes and more than likely tell you to take the leftovers with you. I would bring a couple of adult diapers with you too. Now your hospital may be different but one thing my husband and I brough that made our time in the hospital nice was our roku so we could watch our own shows while we were there.
