Hi Guys, so there are my top tips on what to pack in your hospital bag and what I am packing in my hospital bag for baby number 3! I hope you like these ideas on what to pack for you, baby and your partner.
WHAT TO PACK CHECKLIST:
ESSENTIALS:
- Hospital notes, baby notes, birth plan
- Car Park change (also good for vending machines!)
- Hynosis on phone if you are doing hypnobirthing and wireless headphones
- Camera and charger
- Phone and charger
- Petrol in the car
FOR BABY:
- 3 to 4 Baby Sleepsuits / outifts
- 4 Vest
- Muslin Squares
- Baby Hat
- Newborn Nappies / Diapers
- Water Wipes (or cotton wool and water)
- Cellular Blanket (or one suitable for the season you give birth in)
- Swaddle Blanket
- Barrier Cream Sample
- Carseat ready to use and installed in the car
- Formula and bottles if you don't want to breastfeed
FOR YOU (THE MUM):
- Sleepwear (extra pyjamas)
- Socks or Slippers
- You may want a thin robe
- Going home outfit e.g. joggers and a nursing top (comfy clothes!)
- Lucozade Glucose Tablets
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Unscented deoderant
- Nursing Bra and Breast Pads
- Disposable Briefs and Maternity Pads
- Black Underwear - comfortable for after birth
- Vaseline or Lip Balm
- Hair Ties
- Toiletries Bag with essential skincare, body wash and make up
- Paracetemol / Ibuprofen for after birth pain
PARTNER:
- Snacks and Drinks
- Paracetemol
- Download Contraction Timing App
- Money / Change
- They may want to pack their own change of clothes

kween x lolz I’m almost 33 weeks, it’s going too fast for me i don’t feel prepared. Having this baby after 14 years of trying, fertility treatments and spending thousands. I’m so grateful, but for me it’s just going too fast. I just don’t feel prepared 🤷🏻‍♀️, confused all over the place. And lazy as a slug lolz.

Never would have thought of that and making sure that the car has gas. Things no one ever includes in their videos but they will tell you the brand name of the 50 pillows they're putting in their Louis Vuitton 😂

Hey everyone, I’m also due in July as well!!! First time mom to a baby boy, I’m currently 32 weeks pregnant, my cervix is already shortening at 1.25cm and I’m currently on bed rest, rebuking preterm labor in the name of Jesus, Amen. If you in another country I guess but in America all you need is an outfit for you to go home in and outfit for the baby to go home in and a car seat literally everything else is provided unless you want the baby in its own clothes instead of hospital onesies

Great overview...straight to the point. I had to pack more because I was in and out of the hospital during my pregnancy. So yes, I was one of those people who packed the house due to the time I spent in the hospital.

It's so much stuff. In the US you don't have to bring half of this stuff but then they charge your insurance $35,000

This is the simplest and most practical list that I found so far without showing off any branded whatever things. The best! And you confirmed my idea about getting different sizes for baby.. Thank you so much! On my 20th week now and trying to get ready a few things at a time - you never know when you get to rush over the hospital. 😉

About patrol.. my stepmom actually felt so good during labour she drove herself to hospital, with my father as passenger, AND stopped at gas station, filled tank up, went to pay for the patrol and continued on, to give birth to my little brother :) And as calming as it seems to sound, even she thanked god for epidural later...

During my first pregnancy I watched many pregnancy essential videos and took so much stuff to the hospital, only to find out that they provide you with literally everything in that suitcase here in Germany. I dint have to use a single thing I took for the baby until the day we brought him home. Also there were mesh underwears and heavy duty pads for the mothers. Except of course toiletries and phone chargers and pj's etc. But I still watch these videos cuz it's so organised and makes me calm 😊

As a nursing assitant in a maternity ward I HATE when people bring everything in their house but the kitchen sink...especially when they lay it all on the bed right after birthing it makes it hard to get around them and do the caring and monitoring we need to do.

Small hair brush, dry shampoo...maybe extra throw for hubby or you...I find hospital blanket to thin...but everything else you packed is pretty spot on :) giving birth is such a amazing experience, which I wish people would embrace more

I was sweating so much after giving birth! Didn’t need more than the thin hospital blanket and I stayed naked underneath the whole time until we got ready the check out two days later! My husband said the postpartum room was freezing but I don’t recall being cold at all lol

If you're in usa, you don't need to bring all this, the most important is the car seat and yourself loll, and an outfit for yourself and the baby if you really want,the hospital provide all what you need for both the mom and the baby. I just had a baby, l didn't use nothing that I brought with me, so mommy's to be don't be stressed. Safe delivery 🙏

hi Emily, first I wish you a smooth labor and delivery...second, for the maternity stay in September ! I had the same thought that hospitals usually hot for little ones but when I gave birth to my little girl it was so cold and the hospital didn't turn the heaters on cuz they have a central heating system that is programmed for specific dates !! it was freezing at night and my little lost so much weight cuz she was burning all the breast milk for heating and still was cold my poor little angel!...I didn't know back then cuz she is my first baby! but I just wanted you to know so you can check with your hospital about it !...sorry it's long comment, I hope you read it.. hugs and kisses

I’m on my 3rd pregnancy also...and because I had completely different experiences on my previous babies journey, I’m watching some videos to kind of confirm what I think it’s essential to bring to the hospital this time, and yours is the one close to what I believe is necessary. Very good video! I think in most countries the maternity bag is the same. In Romania, some hospitals give you a list with what you should bring. It's mostly the same. For the mother: clothes for 3 days, undergarments (disposable ones if you can), brest pump (if you have one), cosmetics and hygene products (as you please). For the baby: clothes for 3 days, pampers, wet wipes, rash cream, shower gel.
