Finally a mom who isn't afraid to spoil their children for just one day. I am so pleased to see this. Your children are receiving more in their stockings than some children are getting for total gifts. I just watched a mom show her gifts and each child is only receiving two presents. It wasn't that she can't afford gifts it was "to much clutter". SMH
Everybody does Christmas differently & that's okay. I love these video's, but it is not my intention nor is it my business to judge how another family celebrates. For me, my parents only ever gave us two or three gifts each year & it was enough to make the day magical. My brother's children are the same, they love everything they are given! Their parents give them 2 or 3 gifts & then they get a few gifts from their extended family.
We only did 3 gifts a year for a while, actually. We had noticed one year that after they opened that third gift, it wasn't so much about what they were receiving anymore but about just opening up the next gift. We were trying to be more intentional with gift giving (plus, they received quite a number of gifts from extended family so it wasn't just us and we do only have so much space in our house for things). However, we have since switched to going based off a buget and that has been a good method for us. Some kids may get more than others but they all have the same budget so no one complains about the quantity and they are truly happy with what they do get because they are things they actually want and will play with/use. But everyone does things differently and that's ok. You just have to find what works for your own family and others will find what works for theirs. 😁
She’s not really spoiling is she .. she’s got a budget and sharing stuff out and being careful etc . Btw I’m not dissing that I wish I could stick to a budget tbh.
I wrap everything that goes into our stockings. I absolutely love stuffing stocking it is my favorite. My kids absolutely love their stockings too. It takes them about 30 minutes to open their stockings. We have four kids 17, 14, 9, and just about 7!
I don't particularly enjoy wrapping everything in their stockings but I love watching them open them because it brings them so much joy (especially because they help pick out their presents, so their stocking gifts are truly a surprise to them and they love that). Glad you and your kids get so much enjoyment out of it - really helps make everything so fun and special 😄
As a child a tradition my Parents lol Santa and Mrs Claus 🤶 the Stockings were hung with care, and filled with 1 orange 1 apple nuts in the shells almonds walnuts and pecans and peanuts a big fat candy cane stick. We have continued this tradition with our 8 kids and now our Grandchildren of many ❤️
Great stocking stuffers!!! We don't get much candy in our stockings. We get candy/food items in our Christmas Eve boxes. Only novelty candy candy (like Pez dispensers, Kinder Joy eggs, candy filled skateboards, etc.) goes in our stockings. We all get 2 stockings on Christmas. We mostly get small toys, games, needed items, school supplies, and a few requested items.
I really like the chocolate coin idea for the tooth fairy! And thank you for sharing about the Minecraft stickers, I cldnt justify the $6 per pack per kid, but I just checked our hobby lobby and they have $2 ones as well!
I am months behind, but if you are looking for those gummy burgers this year I find them at world market. I dont know how the orice compares, but when i found them there as a young adult i had a similar mind blowing moment. For years they were just something we got at the tiny shop in middle of nowhere Michigan.
I’ve really struggled with the stocking this year , I think the main gifts I’m really happy with (mostly!) but I try not to put nonsense gifts in the stocking , things that are going to be thrown in the bin or broken by New Years but I’ve struggled to think of things to include this year. I actually don’t even know what I’ve got 🤣 I need to go through the boxes and start wrapping
Yes, stockings can be a bit tricky for me too and I don't like to fill it with things that are just going to end up in the trash by the end of the day (unless it's a candy wrapper 🤣). I've been trying to switch to consumable items that they will actually enjoy/use but that won't add to the clutter of our home, if possible. After Christmas this year, I found bath bombs on clearance at Costco so I went ahead and picked them up for next Christmas to go in their stockings as they all really enjoy those. I hope you were able to figure everything out well 😊
If you save that 50 bucks for the after Christmas sales, it will go pretty far. Also, 50 dollars is more than some kiddos will get. I'm sure your mom is doing her best.
$50 is better than nothing, though, right? To some people, our budget isn't very much and to others it's a lot. Everything is about perspective and being content with what you do have. I'm also sure your mom is doing the best she can.
Well, according to Wikipedia..."Aldi (stylised as ALDI) is the common company brand name of two German multinational family-owned discount supermarket chains operating over 10,000 stores in 20 countries. The chain was founded by brothers Karl and Theo Albrecht in 1946, when they took over their mother's store in Essen." They've been here in the States for many years on the East coast and more recently (probably within the last 5 years) have opened stores here on the West coast. 🙂

There are definitely years that I struggle with this more than others, that's for sure. A few more ideas that my kids enjoy are glowsticks/glow braclets, bath bombs or color-changing tabs you put in the bath, those little capsules that you put in water and dissolve and you're left with a little foam animal, nail polish, beauty face masks, craft supplies (I used to give mty kids each a roll of scotch tape because they would go through it so much that I started charging them $1 per roll if they wanted more so getting a roll in their stocking was a big deal)...Can you tell a theme? I also don't like a bunch of things that will end up broken quickly and just thrown out. I tend to stick to things that can be consumed so they are enjoyed but don't fill up our house unnecessarily or fill up the landfill. Good luck finding things that fit your family!
