FAQ's
How do you afford to travel? - I now earn a full time living through creating these RU-vid videos, affiliate links, selling digital products and my clothing line. I used to simply just work any temporary job I could find to save up to travel! I budget the money I earn meticulously to reach my savings goals using www.backpackin...
Is travelling solo safe? - I would argue the answer is almost always yes! As long as you use your common sense and you follow your own government's guidelines about travelling in that country. I have made several videos on backpacking safety on my channel.
Do you have plans to settle down? Yes, I'm currently saving to purchase my first property in the UK and I'd love to have children one day. I doubt I'll ever live a completely 'conventional' lifestyle by society's standards though, as I often have my own preferred way of doing things.

I got a similar backpack last year and love it for traveling. It’s so big for a personal item. Also, a cable/electronics organizer (tons of options on Amazon) is easily one of my favorite travel accessories. It keeps all my wires neat and it one place, ear buds, sd and memory cards, and mine fits two of my hard drives as well as the USB/Mem card/hdmi adaptor for my MacBook.

The best camera is the one you take everywhere. Btw, are you ever worried that the pouch in front comes off? Like somebody might yank it off or it gets stuck on something and comes off

Someone else mentioned this and it’s honestly never crossed my mind or got stuck on anything.. it’s also fiddly to detach so not easy to yank off at all!

I miss Thailand! My husband and I stayed for a week on Koh Samet in between staying in Bangkok, the gulf of Thailand is so gorgeous. We only did carryon all six months in Asia, it was NOT easy!😆

I am about to start my first backpacking tour, I'm going to Thailand and I am super nervous about it. Your videos give me confidence for this journey, so thanks a lot! Have you found a new eyemask yet? I am desperate for finding one that blocks out all the light so I can sleep well.... Or can you name the brand of the mask shown in the video? How to you keep these under the weight limit? Most budget airlines have the carry on and personal item combined weight as 7 kilo?

Honestly, I just chance it. My 40L is around 10KG and this bag is around 7KG. If they weigh them, I have to surrender and pay to check in the 40L… but honestly that hasn’t actually happened in years!

Always put your valuables underneath in the bus. I made the mistake of keeping mine on me during a busride in Colombia and literally everything got stolen - I seem to be a very very deep sleeper hahah

Good question! No I don’t 😊 most days I just carry around my bum bag and on bigger adventure days, I have a foldable backpack by Tropicfeel. This Cabaia bag is just to carry around my electronics and mostly will stay in my accommodation!

Love your packing videoes, but how are you allowed on the plane with two heavy (they look heavy😅) bags? I have the same eagle creek backpack as you, and I want to travel hand luggage only, but I'm not able to keep the weight of the bag under 8kg... Do they check the weight of your bags before you enter the plane or don't they care? 🤞

Honestly I always just chance it and my bags very rarely get weighed 😅 my carry-on bags are nearly always over the weight limit but if I ever do get caught out, it is worth it to pay that one time, for all the times I haven’t had to pay a thing haha

A couple of months back you were in Puerto Escondido (great vid btw) what would you say is the best way to get to Tulum from Puerto Escondido? Donkey? Rail? A flight? A caravan that looks suspicious to the cartels? Please share what would be the best way. In your opinion if you've done it before!!! P.s. This is a genuine question.

My ex boyfriend and I drove in his car from Tulum to Puerto Escondido over 11 days which was cool as we did some cool stops along the way! But if you don’t have the time for that, then just a flight via Mexico City is quick and easy

I’ve never described myself as a minimal traveler 😅 but generally, those who travel only with hand-luggage are considered minimalists. I think minimalism is relative though. Everyone has different needs for their own packing
