I think the EZone 98 is a great choice for you! Those racquets carry the spirit of Shelton and Kyrgios which explains your 10mph serve buff. I also like higher tensions for your attacking tennis, but think you should try 20lbs for memes.
Nick, over at Intuitive Tennis, says that poly strings go dead when strung too tightly, and that this is the main reason that so many people are developing tennis elbow (see his Four Main Causes of Tennis Elbow video). If you still have tennis elbow, you might want to consider lowering your tension further from your 53-55 pound range. Nick says that you shouldn't string poly strings at over 52 pounds (particularly at the recreational level - pros generate far more power than we do, so need to string more tightly to improve control).
Using a lower tension is great advice, but Nick's advice on equipment is 90% wrong. His lessons are spot on but take his racket / string advice with a pinch of salt.
I really love *preluxscom* bags. The fabric is very good. The golden embellishments add a touch of beauty. When I went to the church, I received some praise.
a couple of additions that you'll never regret keeping in your bag (especially for the summer season) - ibuprofen and a mini first aid kit - electrolyte tablets (nuuns or liquid IV) - hand warmers (maybe not be necessary in Austin) - dry snacks - extra pairs of socks excited to see you how your summer season goes!
Trey, for the strings there are overwhelming choices, and so it is important that you methodologically divide what you like, so that you don't test too many strings than you need. Also keep in mind that you need to make your decisions based on how you feel when under pressure or match play, and not when you hit for fun. 1. First figure out you like round poly or shaped poly. Also if shaped, aggressive shaped edges or less aggressive. Make sure by matchplay/under-pressure. 2. Then figure out your preferred stringbed stiffness, by trying different tensions, and go to the LOWEST tension you can be consistent with. And measure the stringbed stiffness and stick with this. 3. Now you are ready to try different stiffness strings, and see whether you like a stiffer string at lower tension or softer string at tighter tension. Most people make a mistake of stringing all strings at same tension, and thereby changing your stringbed stiffness. Instead try to keep similar stringbed stiffness and see what "feel" you like. Now that you now know your string profile, stringbed stiffness and which stiffness range strings, you can narrow down your choices a lot. Then it comes to durability/tension maintanance/playable duration/easiness of availability/cost etc.
Good luck with the tennis elbow man. I spent 2 years dropping tension slowly from 60lbs to current 48 and it's helped wonders. I've never tried the compression sleeve but I wear an elbow compressing brace to this day out of fear of it coming back. Cheers from Tyler!
I have an ezone 98 and am playing around with other racquets. I love the vcore 95 too but agreed it’s super hard to play matches with. Testing out the Blade v9 98 16x19 next and will make a decision between that and the VC95. For tennis elbow, i’d recommend stringing often with polys - prob 2x a month if you’re playing 3-4x a week. If you do not alrdy, strength training and roll out your forearm and tricep.
If you are dealing with tennis elbow, you could try softer poly strings and see if that helps or try a hybrid poly/gut. Also, you probably need to do some injury prevention exercises for the elbow.
I got back into tennis about 9 months ago and was stringing about the same with a stiff poly and had issues. Switched to around 49 lbs and softer string and I haven't had any issues since. If you want some good string recommendations Tennis warehouse has a pretty good tool that shows stiffness ratings snd stuff like that. For me ive liked head lynx, hyper g soft. If you don't wanna switch to a softer string then i would say lower the tension to under 50 and see how you like it. Currently using blade v8 98 16/19, lynx tour at 50lbs
For me, the biggest thing that changes the launch angle one you pick a racquet is string thickness, the larger the number the thinner the string, the more spin you get and thus more clearance over the net and dip into the court
I have a Vcore 98. Its the '22 model but its awesome. Yonex is great. As you know there are numerous things to try for tennis elbow which I'm sure you've done. But I will say, lower tensions are the way to go. The poly holds up really well. I'm a 9+ UTR and string at 49 - I grew up playing with really tight strings too. You could also try the RTP vibrasorb. Its $$$$ but decent. Keep up the awesome content. I want to see you reach 10 UTR before me...
Dang you guys are giants. You can try a Poly/MultiFilament hybrid setup for the tennis elbow. They are quite comfortable. I would say the Vcore98 is kind of similar to the Ezone98, but with more spin. I personally feel that the Ezone is more controlled.
I (Trey) do all the editing. Since a started splitting up court sounds + 3 channels of audio + 3 cameras it’s about doubled the time it takes me to edit a pros set. Takes 3-5 hrs now depending on length, but i could knock them out 1:30 before i started splitting audio and had just two static angles.
@@Winners-Only Keep it up! We appreciate the quality vids! Drone shots as B-roll looked great in the recent videos to. Shoutouts all the way from Singapore ✌
Would you ever consider the RPM blasts or is that just too much wrist and elbow damage in waiting? They are by far the best strings I have used but are notorious for being tough on the body to use.
You should definitely get your hands on the VCore 98. It's much more arm friendly than the EZone for sure. My cousin plays with the EZone as well and due to work, he developed some tennis elbow. I had a VCore 98 that I wasn't using anymore, gave it to him to demo, and he liked it. For your tennis elbow, string lower for sure and always contact the ball in front of you!
Yeah I love the ezone 98, good choice, maybe reduce the string tension to low 50s 50-52. Not seen much drone footage during a match so would be interested to see how that goes.
Fellow tennis elbow patient here.. I would say a weighted up ezone plus the tension you’re using is a recipe for disaster. Try going down to 50lbs or a hybrid with gut or multi, at least while you recover.
1) HAIL!!? 😮 (from Hawaii.) 2) Even if you think you found the perfect racket. Never stop demoing rackets occasionally. You don’t need to become a tennis Nerd but your so new to tennis that your needs and likes are bound to change with time, don’t get married to a racket, unlike real life cheating on your current racket is ok. 3) Kyle about 6’6, D1 basketball athleticism, why isn’t he taking up tennis? He’d be a coaches dream student. You guys could be the real “Tennis Brothers” RU-vid channel.
I know this is an ad, but I always find it ridiculous when people show up like this to a match lol best players I've seen show up in swimming trunks with 1 racquet sometimes 😂
